Sometimes relationships are complicated, and other times their easy, but even though your in a complicated relationship, it doesn't mean that the relationship is bad, it just means that you might have to work on it a little more than other people might have too. Easy relationships aren't always good either, having a relationship where you never fight or disagree on anything might just mean that you can’t talk to the person you are with. Both of these types of relationships are portrayed in Of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck, and in the Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. George and Lennie have a stronger relationship than Romeo and Juliet, because George and Lennie have goals that they want to accomplish together, like getting …show more content…
He does get frustrated at times but he has never not answered a question for Lennie. Just like the time when George tells Lennie not to drink the water because it’s bad and George doesn't want Lennie to get sick. George is taking care of Lennie and he genuinely cares for him, and doesn't want him to get hurt or sick. Some people might say that Romeo and Juliet care for each other too because they always want to be together, buts that's only because they practicly just met and their still trying to get to know each other, whereas George and Lennie have been together ever since they were young, and George has taken it upon himself to look after Lennie because he made aunt Clara that …show more content…
George and Lennie's relationship might be more complicated than Romeo and Juliet, but it just shows that they truly are family. George would never leave Lennie behind, and Lennie never wants to let George down. However, Romeo and Juliet do everything in their power to be together, but in doing so, they hurt each other, and they hurt their families. They made everyone else suffer with them just so that they could be together, but in the end they ended up dying anyways. George and Lennie on the other hand, are together because it’s what's best for both of them, and by them being together they help the people around the more, because they are a package deal when they try to get a job, Lennie is the strong one who does a lot of good work and tries very hard to please everyone, and George is the one who finds them the best jobs to get so that they make the most money so that one day they can finally own a farm together instead of having to work on other peoples. "Sure," said George. "All kin's a vegetables in the garden, and if we want a little whisky we can sell a few eggs or something, or some milk. We'd jus' live there. We'd belong there. There wouldn't be no more runnin' round the country and gettin' fed by a Jap cook. No, sir, we'd have our own place where we
Just as looking after each other is important, another component of a healthy relationship is being able to make each other better people. With no surprise, George and Lennie are able to do this for each other constantly. The first way that George and Lennie make each other better people is because they have common goals between each other. George and Lennie explain to readers how their goal is to own a farm with each other. Their farm will take up an acre of land, and it will have a shack on that land that they can live in. They will own chickens, pigs, cows, and rabbits that Lennie will be able to tend. (Steinbeck 105-106)
George obviously cared for Lennie or else he would have left him by himself afte...
When you walk down the street you notice millions of different kinds of people. Some with a piercing, some with bunch of friends and some with a book in their hands. What is it that makes people so different from one another? Our personality and our character are not born with us, but they are influenced by our actions and the people around us. When we are young we are around our family and they teach us their tradition, which becomes the building blocks for our personality. However, where do traditions come from and what happens when someone fails to follow the traditions? Questions like these have no definite answers but different point of views. Shakespeare for example shares his point of view about traditions in his two famous plays “Romeo and Juliet” and “Much Ado about Nothing.”
In my life I’ve seen many different healthy relationships. The most healthy relationship that I see everyday is Jayden Mink and Lauren Devries. They have been together for almost five years. That is a very long time and I haven’t seen any relationship last that long. They are both good at sports, they both work on a ranch, and they’re both really smart.
The emotional symbiosis between George and Lennie helps each man. Lennie’s attachment to George is most strongly visible when Crooks suggests George is not coming back. Lennie is almost moved to hysterics and his fear does not quickly abate. George prefers to feign dislike for Lennie to Lennie’s face: “I could get along so easy and so nice if I didn’t have you on my tail” (7). When pressed, George reveals his true feelings for Lennie. “I want you to stay with me Lennie” (13). They stay together because “It’s a lot easier to go around with a guy you know” (35). Both men need and value their strong emotional relationship.
The Portrayal of Romeo and Juliet's Relationship in the Play. In my opinion, the relationship between Romeo and Juliet is portrayed. in lots of different ways. It is portrayed as tragic, united, shows.
George’s relationship is meaningful with Lennie because he took in Lennie after his Aunt Clara passed away and no one else would take him. For instance, when George was talking to Slim he said,”When his Aunt Clara died, Lennie just come along with me out workin’. Got kinda used to each other af...
Furthermore, George is always trying to make Lennie happy in anyway possible. For example, George told Lennie that he’ll be
First of all, George and Lennie have grown up together and “go everywhere together” (70). They live together and they work together as a team similar to if they were a family. George and Lennie have been together as long as Lennie can remember and they have stuck together their whole lives which shows it is long lasting. Furthermore, no matter how difficult living with Lennie is for George he “wants [Lennie] to stay with [him]” (103-104). George expresses multiple times how easy life would be without Lennie, but the truth is that George needs Lennie and would not want to live without him. Finally, George and Lennie have been together for so many years that “[they] got a future” (115) that they have planned, and work to achieve every day. Someday they plan to make enough money to buy land of their own and have animals, grow crops, and spend the rest of their life together. It is true that Romeo and Juliet were planning on running away and spending the rest of their life together as well, but on the contrary, Romeo and Juliet do not have a long lasting relationship. They believed they were in love because they “ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (1.5.59-60) of the party at the Capulet’s. This is purely infatuation because they only went off of each other’s looks and they both did not know anything about each other. Unlike George and Lennie, they did not take time to build their relationship which proves that Romeo and Juliet do not have a long lasting relationship, and yet again proves that George and Lennie’s relationship is
Whether or not the men have a stable friendship with others determines some of their actions. George and Lennie’s friendship is very strong, so they base off their actions on the other persons. The have been staying together for many years. The two moving around and living together is great for Lennie, because due to
He never understood things the way “normal” people do. He is like a giant baby, not able to make any decisions himself and pure at heart. George is wise and witty is fully capable himself, yet he sticks around Lennie regardless. “… if I was alone I could live so easy. I could go get a job an’work, an’no trouble.” George expresses his frustration of how much trouble Lennie cause him. And how if wasn’t with Lennie he would have a simple live and wouldn’t have any trouble. However, when Lennie ask George if he should leave George says no. This is because he cares for Lennie despite how much work he is. The means that there is now way George would have even though of killing Lennie if he thought I wouldn’t be the best and only possibility for him. He always cared for him and knew that if Lennie did go live alone he wouldn’t be able to
George and Lennie make an awesome couple of companions, however George is all the more an overseer. It was a greater amount of George's fantasy to claim their own farm and settle. It was George's American dream to possess their life and take to take what they believed was legitimately theirs and that is the sort of attitude that a few individuals had amid the 1930s. A great many people did not comprehend why George dealt with Lennie in light of the fact that he resembled a miserable cause however George constantly wanted to deal with him. Most characters of the novel feel that Lennie is unequal to them, however this was not genuine. Lennie had the same trusts and dreams as most characters in the
How Shakespeare Presents Love and the Problems of Love in Romeo and Juliet With particular focus on Act 1 Scene 5 and Act 2 Scene 2, show how. Shakespeare presents love and the problems of love in Romeo and Juliet. In the book Romeo and Juliet we look at the love and passion between Romeo of the Montague house and Juliet of the Capulet house as well. the feud between the two houses. Act 1 scene 1:
Romeo and Juliet fell in love in their teens and look where they ended up. Thankfully, in the real world, teen marriage does not have a tragic ending like William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” However it could still end with severe consequences. In the same way as Romeo and Juliet, teens are more likely to rush into things without thinking them through. then later they realize they do not want to be in the relationship anymore until it is too late. They also find out it is not easy to get a divorce. This happened to a friend of mine a few years ago. He decided to marry a girl the day she turned eighteen. She was soon bored with her relationship with him and became fickle with her adult responsibilities. Within six months of marriage, she
In "Romeo and Juliet" Shakespeare uses parent/child relationships to show how two different types of parenting influence the choices the young teens make. Although Romeo's relationship with his parents is not focused on much of the play it can still be said he has a fair relationship with them. Unlike Romeo, Juliet's relationship with her parents is more focused on during the play.
