When people hear the word relationship, they think about a person and their relationship between their family and their significant other. Not the type of relationship that they have with something else other than a person, some other people can have relationships can be between a guy and his car, a girl and her hair, a “nerd” and their video games, a person and their dog, relationships between different parts of the government or just a relationship that doesn’t involve a person at all and so on. There are all different types of relationships in the world, not just the relationship between a person, their family and significant other.
There are all different types of relationships but the one that I’m going to be talking about is The Relationship between Police and Other Government Agencies: Recent Changes in Perspective in Queensland. While the past reason for this understood as police are often the only twenty-four hour service, and sometimes the only government service in urban and isolated areas, it has detected from the size of the police to arrange resources to the main policing functions such as the protection of life and property across the state (The Relationship between Police and Other Government Agencies: Recent Changes in Perspective in Queensland, Pg. 1). They have seen growing rates of crime, both violent and property crime, and the beginning of new forms of crime mainly in the areas of controlled crime, the setting, fraud, computer and other "white collar" related crime in the most recent years (Federal Justice Office 1992, pp. 5-7).
The police of Queensland, playing an active part of realizing government policy than on the strict law execution sense have not generally seen their role. Also their involvement ...

One area that is particularly emphasized is that of the Queensland Police Service Women Safety Project, which shows the commitment of the Service to work together with other government agencies to accomplish policy goals. The Women's Safety Project was found in 1990 to improve the safety of women in Queensland. The project, which foreshown the first time in Australia that police have started such an advantage, has undertaken widespread discussion with the community, government departments, media and police. The major importance of the Project in the first two years has been the production of a series of nine brochures titled "Step Ahead: Safety Information for Women" which include information jointly developed with a range of agencies, on public transport, safety around the home, safety out and about, safety in the car and information for teenagers.
With reference to the orthodox and revisionist perspectives, assess the statement that ‘the establishment of the Metropolitan Police in 1829 was a rational solution to changes in society and the associated challenges of crime and disorder’. Use a contemporary example to demonstrate how these perspectives can be useful in interpreting modern policing activities.
What is the meaning of the word “relationship”? Most of us hear this word every day, in other words “a state of affairs existing between those having relations and dealings. There are four types of relationships: couple, family, and friend. Most of the relationships can be difficult, romantic relationship seem to be the most complicated types. Sometimes two lovers can care for each others, yet they cannot talk to each others. When a problem occurs between two people for a long time, it most likely will get to a fight and most of the time to end the relationship. While watching The Break-Up movie, showed a lot of elements of the interpersonal relationships. The movie talked about two couple stayed together for a long time. And they started to fight about minor stuff that leads to end the relationship.
The Criminal Justice System and its agencies encounter challenges while trying to perform their daily activities. The system deals with laws involving criminal behaviour. It dwells on three major agencies: the police, courts, and the corrections. Each agency has its own specific and important roles to contribute to society. This paper will explain both the roles and challenges each agency unfortunately battles.
Myths are defined as stories that are made up by society that symbolizes values, ideologies and beliefs (Phillips, 2016). Myths are used by all cultures; myths are stories that are told to support social customs in societies. Crime myths are also created by telling stories (Victor Kappeler & Gary Potter, 2005). Myths about police officers have created false imageries of officers and their day-to-day jobs. Myths about the police have played an important role for decades now (Phillips, 2016). Majority of police myths are created by both the media and the police themselves. This paper will review Victor Kappeler and Gary Potters summary of police myths and outside sources will be used to support the myths listed by the authors.
Police officers are faced each day with a vast array of situations with which they must deal. No two situations they encounter are ever the same, even when examines a large number of situations over an extended period of time. The officers are usually in the position of having to make decisions on how to handle a specific matter alone, or with little additional advice and without immediate supervision. This is the heart of police discretion. As we shall find, the exercise of discretion by police has benefits and problems associated with such exercise. The unfettered use of discretion can lead to the denial of citizen rights. Strategies that control the use of discretion are, therefore, very important. The benefits and problems of police discretion and controlling strategies are the focus of this essay.

The Political Era of policing occurred in the early 1800’s and lasted until the 1930’s, and was under the direct influence of the local government and politicians. There were benefits of political influence; police departments began to develop intimate relationships within their communities offering a wide array of services to citizens. For example, the police worked soup kitchens and provided temporary housing for immigrants searching for work (Peak, 2015). In addition to providing an array of services to the community, officers were integrated into neighborhoods, which helped to prevent and contain riots. Typically, officers were assigned to neighborhoods where they lived or had the same ethnic background. Police departments
Criminal justice as a socially constructed theoretical perspective by Kraska (2004) emphasizes the idea of emotions influencing criminal justice. In order to understand law-breaking we have to look at the process of how we defined behaviors as illegal as well as looking at the reactions of the criminal justice system. “It is not the quality of the act the person commits, but rather a consequence of the application by others of rules and sanctions to an offender” (Kraska, 2004) There are criminal justice actors that influence the definitions of criminal behavior which are police portraying the idea of the impossible mandate of curing crime, criminal statistics, and organizations working to maintain justice.
The ability of police to exercise discretion was originally designed to allow officers to maintain the peace by allowing certain types of crime to remain unpunished in certain circumstances. This essay will aim to explore the issue of police discretion that suggests that the application of discretion works against the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In drawing this conclusion, this essay will examine the relationship between policing ideals and the use of discretionary powers and the relationship between policing attitudes and the use of discretionary powers. A discussion regarding the use of police discretion towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can scarcely be mentioned without making reference to arguably the greatest failing by a police officer since indigenous Australians were formally recognised as citizens. Further to this, the case of Mulrunji Doomadgee (Cameron) will be examined from the point of view of officer discretionary powers. The penultimate point to be made will involve the Anglo Australian response to this case as well as the ongoing relationship between indigenous Australians and the institutions that govern them. As mentioned, the first point will involve policing ideals and their relationship to discretionary powers.

This agency is also known as “PERF” and their focus is mainly anything dealing with police officers, plus technology is important to them because it can change plenty of lives. This law enforcement agency deals with using government funding and donations to help increase policing in communities, while taking in consideration the officer’s life. Their position is to support the police, along with promoting the importance of safety. Some of their ideas are a nationwide public safety broadband network, next generation 911, Real-Time crime centers, and cybercrime. For example, Government Tech goes into detail with Real-Time Centers, which states, “Facilities that can gather vast amounts of crime-related data, such as arrest records, mug shots and warrant information, and then push it out to officers and investigators in the field, are expected to have an impact on crime investigations in the future, according to PERF ”(Kidd). The agency has some great ideas in the works. The next political actor would be the court, but they are involved in a different way. The courts aren’t upheld or anything in this policy, however the decisions in certain court cases made the police relevant to many people and others began to take notice. The courts didn’t play a major role, but their actions played an important role. Lastly, the final political actor is a stakeholder, named The Office of Community
The focus is on the issues of police accountability in modern society, and in particular why their accountability is more important than other professions. This is not surprising considering the amount of power and discretion police officers have, and the level of trust that the public holds with these civil servants. Police officers accountability is the biggest thing in their profession which has been an issue of concern they have to be accountable to the police department who want the officer to be an effective and responsible person, to people in the community who have best expectation from an officer and being accountable to themselves for their acts. An ordinary citizen of a country cannot obtain the powers that police officer’s have.
Police social work is a growing practice within the criminal justice system. Although a police station is not the primary setting for a social worker, it makes a lot of sense for them to be employed within. Police and social workers both share concerns that are connected to crisis, violence, and personal and family issues. They often lie hand in hand and deal with the same situations. Many cases are now requiring both social work and police intervention and follow up. The calls that the police station receive are sometimes more directed to social work professionals and could be handled in a more efficient way if both professions came together. When social workers were originally employed by police stations, they were assigned to work with
In order to understand the attitudes towards police work and the actions of police officers one can make use of the Structure-agency debate which has three distinct perspectives; structure, agency and structuration. This essay shall argue which position is best to apply by drawing on sociological theories and concepts.
There are so many different types of family relationships. Whatever form a family takes; it is an important part of everyone’s life. My family has played an important role in my life. Good family relationships serve as a foundation to interactions with others. Supportive families will help children to thrive. The quality of the family relationship is more important than the size of the family. Making the relationships priority, communication, and providing support for one another is key to developing relationships. Family relationships are what make up our world today; they shape the ways that we see things and the ways that we do things.
