Another key point to realize is that there are several key differences between reincarnation and the Christian method to salvation. The first is found in karma. In both Hinduism and Christianity, works play a key role. In Hinduism, works and ascetism can just about save a person and bring them to Nirvana. Christianity, however, teaches that good works come as a result of salvation, not the other way around, “For if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose” (Galatians 2:21). For Hindus, the idea of reincarnation is the foundation for all their other views. The notion of breaking free from the curse of rebirth by realizing the illusion of the world is something that absolutely stuck with me. It makes sense to me now why the idea of yoga and reincarnation is such a trendy belief in the world today. I think that every now and then people do not want to believe that this world is real, because sometimes life is just too painful to bear. Reincarnation and moksha seem to address much of that; all people are essentially equal and are destined to become one, where there is no hatred and suffering. And that is why my heart genuinely grieves for those people. They have it so close, but they are still so far from the truth. In a sense, the world is an illusion, because the world will not bring happiness or joy. People will also all be united one day, but only in their confession from Heaven or Hell that Jesus Christ is Lord, and there will be no suffering for those who are in Christ Jesus. But for those who do not put their trust in Him, even if they believe in life beyond this world, will not enter Nirvana in Brahman, but rather have eternal separation from God.
