The Dominance of Reggie Miller Reggie Miller has proven himself to be not only one of the best Pacer’s of all time, but one of the best shooters in the history of the National Basketball Association. Miller played in the NBA for eighteen seasons. He is also arguably the best player to ever play on the Indiana Pacers. Miller is easily one of the greatest and purest shooters to ever play the game. Reggie Miller is undeniably one of the most dominant players to ever play, due to his uncanny ability to dismantle the confidence of any player that he has ever faced, his ability to hit shots under pressure, and his loyalty to his franchise.

Throughout the entire game, Miller had made multiple personal comments to Michael Jordan, but the real blow came late in the third quarter when Miller took a hard shove at the all time greatest. Not only did he anger Jordan, he also got Jordan to throw a blow at the face of the trash talk champ.Larry Bird was also a superstar that felt the dominance of Reggie Miller’s trash talk. On multiple different occasions, the two Hall of Famers got into physical and verbal altercations. Michael Jordan and Larry Bird are not the only Hall of Famers that Miller fought with. Late in Miller’s career, he got into a physical altercation with the younger star, Kobe Bryant. Although neither Bryant or Miller would say what started the altercation, they both agreed that Miller took the trash talking to a non-basketball subject. Miller was drafted into the NBA on June 22, 1987 in New York City. With the 11th pick of the 87’ draft, the Indiana Pacers selected Reggie Miller. Pacer’s fans at the draft were so upset about the pick that they booed Miller as he was walking to the stage. This was because Indiana fans wanted the franchise to select New Castle native, Steve Alford. Luckily for Pacers fans, Miller strives for being hated. Listening to people boo him puts a fire behind his eyes. Miller had a good first season with the Pacers and earned the respect of the fans. The next season, Miller increased his average points per game by 6 points. Miller’s third season in the NBA, he average 24 points per game and received his first NBA all star game invite. At this point in his career, Miller earned the spot as the Pacers’ star player. Fifteen years later, Reggie Miller announced his retirement from the league. Miller played a total of 18 seasons in the NBA, all of which were with the Pacers. Miller says that only once in his career did he ponder with leaving Indiana. Michael Jordan vs Lebron James Michael Jordan, in his prime, was thought of as one of the greatest basketball champions of all time. A shooting guard, standing at six-six, Jordan was able to out play anyone in his position. He started his career at the University of North Carolina, where he helped his team win a national championship. He then was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984-85 season. While playing for the Bulls, Jordan received many awards such as, MVP, five championships, Olympic gold medals, slam dunk contests, and many more defensive and offensive awards.
He was also selected to be an NBA all-star as he averaged 30 to 40 points per game. While when it came to Michael’s second year in the NBA he broke his foot early in the season and was forced to sit out. While having his year off from the game, he decided to go back to school to finish his final year of college. His 3rd year wasn’t all so great either as the Bulls had another losing season, but they still made it to the playoffs. Michael would also score 63 points to set an NBA playoffs record. As the 1989 season approached the Bulls had plenty of players to help Michael on the court. The Bulls would lose in the second round of the playoffs, though to an eastern powerhouse in the Detroit Pistons. As for the next three seasons, the Bulls would lose to the Pistons in the playoffs. The pistons had a great plan to keep Michael from being a terror on the court by something called the “Jordan Rules.” The Jordan Rules invented by the Pistons meant to rough him up or play him tough. Michael was pushed around by the Pistons because he wasn’t very hefty. While in the 1991 and 92 season the Bulls blew by the league not even the Pistons could stop them as the Bulls would go back to back beating the Suns and the Trail Blazers. Melvin Archie Jr. was born on 05/13/1948, in Canton, Mississippi, to Melvin and Lillie Mae Archie. Melvin's parents were married for twenty years before they divorced. Melvin and Lillie Mae had 2 children together. They are Melvin Archie Jr, age 67 and lives in St. Louis, Missouri and Nancy Archie, who passed away in 1994 of throat cancer, she was 44 years old. Melvin has 3 paternal half-brothers but he doesn't have a relationship with them other than limited Facebook contact. He attributes this to the large age gap.
