Over thousands of lives have been affected by the Islamic State in Syria (ISIS) and we should stand by this quote on our most famous monument, and let the Syrian refugees into our country. But, we must take caution and carefully let them into our country to avoid giving access to any criminals.
We have always been “the melting point”, that country that excepts people from all around the world. From every country, religion, and race. It would be inhumane to reject these people who have no where to go and have been though so much that most american’s can not say they have experienced. This purpose is even engraved in our most valued statue. We should continue to honor the tradition of this country ,of acceptance and tolerance, and welcome the refugees with open arms.

We have contributed multiple resources such as soldiers, weapons, and supplies. There is an intense conflict between a America and a few Muslim countries. If we accept the Muslim refugees and provide aid, it will be an opportunity to improve relations with the countries. The important of being there when needed, is never forgotten.
From the Mayflower to the Statue of Liberty, our country has had an open door policy. However it is important to accept the refugees in a responsible way. They should be inspected and checked but overall they should be allowed safety and shelter. As Americans, we value freedom and we should be willing to extend that to others that are willing to accept

Making sure everyone has equal rights and freedom is crucial to people's lives. Accepting people into our country shouldn't be based on their skin color or religion, but their criminal record and if they could truly be a threat to us. When things go downhill in your life, you tend to only focus on what you’re going through and completely ignore the fact that many others could be going through the same exact thing. Empathy is not always easy to achieve. Currently as a nation we are debating whether or not we should allow the Syrian refugees into our country. Thanks for commenting. I agree with many of you points, however I do not believe that immigrants are taking the jobs of able Americans. Farm work, gardening, and other labor intensive jobs are not be filled by U.S. citizens (possibly having to do with low wages), so why would it be an issue if these immigrants decided to work in these fields? In addition to this, refugees can create their own businesses, so this doesn’t necessarily take jobs away from American workers. Unfortuanely there are many unemployed Americans, however in many cases, it is a matter of multiple applications and having the right skills. If people are not qualified for the job, then obviously it should be given to someone with the proper credentials. If immigrants have these skills then why wouldn’t a company want to hire them, versus someone who is lacking the specific background and or education?
Immigration reform is one of the most active and discussed topics right now in American Politics. Mr. Speaker, you are being presented with a unique opportunity to embrace and lead the charge in this reform. The United States is a nation of immigrants. It was built and carried by people who migrated all over the world because they believed in the American Dream. The American Dream is not dead, and immigrants can and will continue to be an incredible positive side to this beautiful nation. But the truth remains, Immigration policies are incredibly outdated and xenophobic. As a nation, America is turning back not only on its foundation and history, but on its future as well. It is not too late to change this. America can return to the being the nation that embraces the tire and the poor and the ones yearning to breathe free. I urge you to aggressively pursue bipartisan Immigration reform this year with or without majority support from The Republican Party. It is a pressing issue that can determine whether The United States continues to be the dominant force in the world. Mr. Speaker you should pursue this immigration reform because Republicans need the support from the immigrants in future elections, it presents a viable platform to fix the issues with illegal immigration, and it can provide a better, more efficient way, to handle immigration in the future.
Today, there are over 65 million refugees in the world. That means that one in every 113 people in the world is a refugee. To many, this number may seem extremely alarming. Many refugees struggle to find a place to resettle. America, along with other developed countries, has often been considered dreamland for these displaced people, making many wanting to get out of their war-torn houses and camps. Immigrants have been in America for many years now. Today many people have different opinions about whether immigrants should be allowed into America freely, or if there should be more harsh regulations to those coming into the country.
