“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”. This is the quote on the Statue of Liberty in New York City and is one of our founding principals. Over thousands of lives have been affected by the Islamic State in Syria (ISIS) and we should stand by this quote on our most famous monument, and let the Syrian refugees into our country. But, we must take caution and carefully let them into our country to avoid giving access to any criminals.
We have always been “the melting point”, that country that excepts people from all around the world. From every country, religion, and race. It would be inhumane to reject these people who have no where to go and have been though so much that most american’s can not say they have experienced. This purpose is even engraved in our most valued statue. We should continue to honor the tradition of this country ,of acceptance and tolerance, and welcome the refugees with open arms. …show more content…

We have contributed multiple resources such as soldiers, weapons, and supplies. There is an intense conflict between a America and a few Muslim countries. If we accept the Muslim refugees and provide aid, it will be an opportunity to improve relations with the countries. The important of being there when needed, is never forgotten.
From the Mayflower to the Statue of Liberty, our country has had an open door policy. However it is important to accept the refugees in a responsible way. They should be inspected and checked but overall they should be allowed safety and shelter. As Americans, we value freedom and we should be willing to extend that to others that are willing to accept
