The Locus of Control assessment shows how much a person believes they have control over the events that occur within their life. However, I am a person that is multitasking I prefer to work alone so I can hold self-accountable for my actions, although the field I am employed in requires my working with a team. I retain shared information, think it over then discuss to see if new options arise. My score was a 4 which to me means I am a person with an internal locus of control. Nevertheless, according to the assessment, I use body movement and my score was 4.23, which means I like to dance, move and walk. Incorporating movement into my learning will increase how I process and retain information better. Although there was five other intelligence score that was listed at the bottom of the page listing were neither strengths nor weaknesses opens avenues for improvement and can be applied in different areas. Chiefs Petty Officer Academy (CPOA) is an extremely effective tool to help refine leadership and understand one’s self. The CPOA course offers a vast opportunity for self reflection and learning how to communicate with a multitude of different personalities. There were a plethora of topics taught during the 5 week course; however the topics that had the greatest influence and inspiration for me personally were the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI), Disc profile, and ropes course.
I am always a little nervous and hesitant when I begin writing an essay. Ever since I was little I was an honor roll student, passed all my tests, was placed in honors and AP classes, and eventually graduated a year early from high school. I used to be so confident when I would begin writing a paper, I could finish it within a couple minutes. During junior year of high school, I began taking duel credit classes. I was passing all the classes so far until I reached English 111. It was an 8-week course and I started to get overwhelmed. This presentation has informed my knowledge about Ofsted greatly. As a student, I have only ever witnessed my previous teachers and schools being inspected and have never experienced the ‘behind the scenes’ of an Ofsted inspection. By completing this task, I feel that I am now able to understand the process that Ofsted follow in a clearer form and feel that this would be very beneficial towards my professional development. This is because as I aspire to be a primary school teacher, I am now aware of what Ofsted look out for in an inspection and feel that I would be able to implement the knowledge gained into my practice and work ethics.
As an emerging leader whose desire is to see progress in his/her organization change is inevitable and necessary. Although change is an important component of moving forward and growing a lot of people resist change, this resistance can be contributed to our fear of the unknown which is what change represent to many people. Hence, when it comes to implementing change it would be best to start off by recognizing and identify what needs to be change ad how to bring about that change. Up until this year, before taking the class intermediate composition, I thought I was a terrible writer. I was right. Writing isn’t something that I enjoy doing, nor am I good at. Writing is difficult for me because I’m not very good at explaining things in a professional manner, that can be easily well written. While writing you are expected to make little to no mistakes, which is not something I’m great at. I am so much better at explaining things with verbal words rather than written words. Initial Reflective Essay When I first thought of what I wanted to do with my life after college, the first thing I thought of was helping people. The next step in deciding what I wanted to do with my life was to examine how I could accomplish this goal. I started pondering and I was thinking about how much I love to take care of my body. Health care and personal hygiene has always been an important factor in my life. So I decided to major in Health Sciences.
Thinking that I was strong minded and never looking at the negatives, ones suspicions changed my whole mind setting. After an endless wait in the mournful waiting room of the hospital, my name was called. The nurse brought us to Dr. Yazay's office where he confirmed his suspicions, and so began my life with scoliosis. Since the age of eight I have been swimming. I was a competitive swimmer for nine years, and now had to deal with a life without the activities I felt defined my identity. The treatment for my scoliosis involved wearing the most uncomfortable thing in the world which was a brace. With several restrictions on my physical activity, I had an abundance of free time on my hands.
Throughout the years certain paradigms have become a big part of my life. Some paradigms are overwhelmingly difficult to change whiles other are long forgotten and overcome. I try new thinking patterns as often as I can, but sometimes it takes a while for me to get rid of my old ways and get used to my new ways. The following paradigms are the hardest to change.
In this world, there are many different individuals who are not only different in demographics but also different neurologically. Due to an immense amount of people it is important to first understand each individual, in order, to better understand them and to help them when it comes to certain areas such as education, the work force, and etc…. This paper aims to examine a particular assessment tool, the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales (Fifth Edition), which measures both intelligence and cognitive abilities (Roid, 2003). This assessment is usually administered by psychologists and the scores are most often used to determine placement in academics and services allotted to children and adolescents (despite their compatibility for adults) (Wilson & Gilmore, 2012). Furthermore before the investigation dives into the particulars of the test, such as its strengths and weakness’, it is best to first learn more about the intelligence scales general characteristics.

The development of the human brain is largely based on relationships acquired during the first few months of life. Traits that a child is born with differ from the ones that he or she gains from an outside environment. The types of things that effects the acquirement of these traits is the environment that the guardian provide, and the interaction between baby and guardian in that environment.
Based on the test results my locus of control is external. According to our text, Individuals who fall into this category do not believe that their future is within their control. They believe that it is more influenced by external forces. I agree somewhat with this assessment of myself. Although I also feel that some portions of our lives can be influenced greatly by our own inner desires and motivations. My interests are also centered on the outside world. This is consistent with the description at the end of the exercise. I thrive in situations where I can be around and mingle with large groups of people. I grew up in a very large family and this helped to shape my personality. However, I do enjoy quiet time and occasionally working on my own.
Writing assignments over this course of time have gave knowledge and taught new processes for specific types of assignments. My attitude overall this semester has changed towards the writing process, as before I only use to pay attention to developing my three main ideas. Now I give attention to throws cited, grammar, structure and organization of the paragraphs. Essay’s overall presentation, problem solution and convincible factors lead to a good essay. This essay reflects level of difficulty or ease to produce essays, all the possible tasks and processes involved, and writing process of specific essay.
I scored a 75% on intrapersonal and a 63% on interpersonal which I believe reflects my personality as a whole. According to Gardner, intrapersonal intelligence can be defined as the “knowledge of the internal aspects of oneself [and the] access to one’s own feelings and emotions” (Feldman, 2016, LO 8.4). I can relate this to myself because I often set goals for myself and reserve time for self-management and self-reflection. Piaget would say that my exposure with journaling when I was younger, contributed to my intrapersonal intelligence.
