Introduction:
A process that is done by melting the work pieces and adding a filler material to form a strong joint, with pressure and heat, or by it, to produce the weld are called welding.
Welding composed of four components that are metals, heat, filter material and a shield from the air. The process of welding is started when the metal is heated to its melting point and it is protected from the air using a shield. Then, a filler metal is added to the area that needs to be joined ultimately producing a single piece of metal.
There are many types of welding. It includes arc welding, oxyfuel gas welding, resistance welding, solid-state welding and many more.
A few of well-known methods in welding area shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten

What welding does is join metals or other materials at their molecular level with the technology. As shown in the video, the worker was doing a gate welding. The worker was doing welding with no proper personal protective equipment.
This job needs a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as we all knew that welding activity involves electric, fire and heat. Worker needs to identify the hazard come from the work task, develop a precaution to overcome the hazard, and follow a safe work procedure to avoid any bad consequences to happen during the work.
Workers performing hot work such as welding are exposed to the risk of fires from ignition of flammable materials, and from leaks of flammable gas, from hot work equipment. The potential hazard is getting burned by fires or explosions during hot work.
On the drill site, probably there are a number of potential sources of ignition for flammable gases and liquids. To prevent possible risks of fire and explosion, it is compulsory to provide a common ignition safety program. Several potential ignition and explosions of flammable gases or vapours are from welding operations, electric power tools and internal-combustion engine

This can avoid a common injury when sparks landing on skin. A welding cap also require for welding to protect head from hot metal and slag splatter. Then, it is necessary to wear an approved safety glass to protect eyes from flying particles. Besides, a proper shoe such as leather boots with six-to-eight-inch ankle coverage is require protecting from falling objects and sparks. A glove with heavy and flame-resistant also needed to protect hands and wrists from burns, cuts and scratches. Other than that, it is compulsory to wear a goggle with minimum shade number of 5 to protect the eyes from intense light and infrared from the flame. Wearing an earplugs and earmuffs also necessary to prevent metal sparks and airborne particles from entering ear canal and protect the ear from excessive noise
scientific experiments (Go welding: history of welding 1). Conventional welding is most easily explained as arc welding processes. Some arc welding processes are TIG welding, Stick Welding(SMAW), and MIG welding. TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas welding this means that using tungsten as a electrode and an inert gas, which is usually argon, the weld is produced by creating an arc between the piece being welded and the tungsten electrode. SMAW or stick welding utilizes a stick electrode held in a clamp surrounded by a powdered substance to weld. Mig welding uses a machine that holds a wire feeder within it, the wire feeder feeds the wire electrode through a tube to a gun that slowly sends out the wire as well as a steady flow of inert gas. These and other processes classified as conventional welding processes are the best processes for welding jobs because they are more cost effective, more...
Career Education Advisor states that welding is relatively dangerous work, done in some potentially hazardous environments. Welders work with electrical currents, large machinery, and heavy parts in conditions that include factories and construction sites. Management-level welders spend time on work sites as well as in the office (Career Education Advisor). Finally, every occupation has advantages
Welding is a dangerous job because you can hurt your eyes from the flash if you don’t wear eye protection. Yes pipeline welding dangerous, but it is wrong because it is only dangerous when proper safety precautions aren’t taking place. Welding is dangerous because pieces of metal can fall on you and you can get flash burn. And you can be exposed to gases, fires, explosions, and electric shock. But the only way these things happen is when safety measures are ignored.
According to Pickwelder, “This type of welding is used in welding wide varieties of metals and alloys such as magnesium, steel, stainless steel, nickel, copper, aluminum, bronze and many other nonferrous metals” (James). MIG can be used with a number of different metals making it very diverse. This is a good quality as it can bond to any metal with the right settings and welding wire. According to JobsiteUS, “A range of material thicknesses can be welded from thin gauge sheet metal right up to heavier structural plates” (Peter Apalais). MIG welding can weld through all different metals and their thicknesses. This is good for production because this process can do both while some processes can only weld thin or thick metal. According to Coastal Media Brand, “Capable for a variety of applications, including – trailer hitches, auto body repair and restoration, farm/ranch equipment, household projects, repairing wheel barrows, bicycles, etc” (Coastalmedia843) The multivariate MIG has so many possibilities that can be used for nearly anything that involves repair work or production. It is good for commercial use and even for your home. This shows the extent that MIG welding can go up to, and the list goes on. All in all Gas Metal Arc Welding is the best process that can be used for an expansive amount of uses for anything consumer grade and
Now it is feasible to weld, starting from thin metal sheets of fraction of mm to very thick plates of virtually any thickness. The quality of welding is not restricted only to work done by the welder but depends on many other factors, viz. welding technique and its parameters, welding equipment, shielding medium, working environment, etc. The heat input rate is one of the most important variables in fusion welding, since it governs heating rates, cooling rates and weld pool size. In the welding of steel, this is important relationship since increased cooling rates increase the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking.
What is welding some may ask. “Welding is the use of brazing or soldering to join together or split apart pieces of metal.” Says miller electric inc. The First recorded forms of welding was from the bronze age when metal boxes were made by “pressure welding lap joints together.” In medieval times welding was used by hammer to forge weapons of different types. “It was actually not until the late 1800’s that traditional welding
Welding is a excellent career choice for those who like to build things with their hands and have a strong attention to detail. It requires an extensive amount of knowledge and skill but for those who get a solid grasp of the respected trade they're rewarded with tremendous job opportunities and first-rate pay.
If you want to be a welder, and actually have a career, you can go to a welding school and learn how to weld, or you can try to be a welders helper and just learn the trade. Welding can be a tough job if you don’t know what you are doing or you do not enjoy doing it. Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials together (Modern Welding). This is the process that uses fuel gases and oxygen to make a molten pool of metal to fuse together two pieces of metal, called puddeling (oxy-fuel welding and cutting. Wikipedia). If you decide to weld as your profession, most welding school students have little trouble finding jobs and finding people certified to weld correctly (Welding.Wikipedia).
Welding can be traced back to the ancient times. One of the earliest methods of welding is bronze age. when ancient people back then had small gold circular were made by pressured welding lap joined together. Then in the Iron Age the Egyptians and people in the eastern area learned to weld pieces of iron together. In the middle age blacksmithing was developed. Blacksmithing is when you weld a piece of metal and hammering it but it was in the 19 century that welding was invented as they know it today.
Skills of welding students welding program learn the art of heating and shaping metal, required classes may include advanced mathematics. To become a certified welder you are required for two year educational high school or college. Travel opportunities for welders you prefer the open or even the open ocean to a cramped office, life style of the ‘’road warrior’ ’welder could lead to an exciting career once you’ve completed a welding program, these travel bound welders are used to going across the country in order to work on huge projects. The advantage of becoming a welder you have plenty of travel opportunities your afford to work on land/or ocean.
One main category of welding is arc welding. Arc welding uses a current sent from an electrode, through the base metal, and back into the ground clamp on your welder. This arc creates a tiny spot of immense heat that melts the metal around it, thus creating a weld puddle, or the puddle of molten metal. Within arc welding there are MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Jonathan Atteberry claims, “T.I.G welding is difficult to learn and requires an elaborate welding rig of skills. It also uses a lot of electricity to make the welds clean and spatter less” (Parag 5). T.I.G welding is hard to learn because people have different hand coordination.... ... middle of paper ...
Welding is an art, science, and high paying career all in one. Welding is the most effective way to join two pieces of metal, it is the only way to join them so they act as one. Numerous things in our daily lives has been welded from coffeepots to skyscrapers. Welding can be done almost anywhere outdoors, indoors, underwater, and even space (“Welding Basics”). It is practically
Welding is a very important tool used in our daily lives. Welding is the process of joining two metal pieces together by applying heat. A filler helps to make the joint. Everything we use from trucks to houses have some type of welding in them. There are many types of welding careers to choose from. There is a great demand for welders today. My project was to build a table and candelabra out of metal. Most of the metal I gathered came from junk yards and had to be cleaned of rust.
Chemical and fire hazards in the workplace cause serious injuries that in most cases are fatal.
