To someone that hasn’t taken this class, I would tell them that learning is a lifelong thing that you have to be proactive in. You have to be purposeful and intentional and aware of how you’re completing or learning something. As an adult, learning is not the same as it was in the second grade. You need to know how you think, and process, become aware of it, and use your strengths and weaknesses to your advantage, and learn how to improve your weaknesses to be able to become beneficial to you. Learning is something that has to be conscious.
Before this class’s completion, to me, the term learning was not just learning algebra or English composition to regurgitate for a test. To me, learning was something that is a lifelong task, be it consciously or subconsciously. You learn something every day, be it something significant or mundane. This is especially true for me as a soldier in training. Throughout Basic Combat Training, although we knew

For example, the light in the bathroom of my barracks was broken so I grabbed the closest thing to a screwdriver I had, which was my knife, and used my technical reasoning and sequence to try and fix it. I consciously knew which learning pattern I was using, and more specifically, after this class, I now notice when myself, or someone else is using a certain learning pattern, and I become very aware of it.
Being a Dynamic learner, a benefit is being very well-rounded. I’m not fantastic in any one subject area, but I am okay at all of them. I can learn basically any way; hands-on is my preferred, but I can learn well reading and writing, and also
Learning is important for countless reasons, the most important reason being that it molds a person into who he or she is. What people choose to learn, and also what they choose not to, create the core of their opinions as individuals. Though people do not admit it or openly declare it, it is fair to say almost everyone is self centered. Because of this, and the fact that learning dramatically affects a person, learning is not only thrilling, but also expressive. Furthermore, since learning is expressive, its meaning varies from person to person, therefore making each person’s experiences with learning unique and life changing.
The way he emphasizes the difference between acquisition and learning, brings a whole new level to education. Using this knowledge, we can develop an education system that will help our youth stay on track and understand what they’re learning and why they’re learning it. This could be particularly helpful with elementary education, when the children are still developing what it means to learn. By redefining the education system, we’ll be able to help our children reach their real potential. If we understand how to teach, it will be a million times easier to connect with the children. We can help our next generation become properly educated about the world that they’re
The biggest lesson I learn during this class is time management. I have a 9 month old baby and he allows wants my attention. I had to rely on a family member to take care of him while I get a few hours to read the textbook and do the writing assignments. I had to truly focus on my work and not go to social sites because I barely had time to do so.
As I planed to take this class, I thought this course would be like all other general education courses. I believed that it would be of little use to me. However, after attending the first class, my view has changed completely. I applied each and every theory to my life.
Learning is a cognitive process which involves generating linkages between concepts, ideas, skills elements, experiences and people. This process requires the learner to make meaning of something by creating and re-working patterns, connections and relationships. From various scientific studies, it has been proved that this cognitive process is largely premised upon mental capabilities and development of the brain (intime, 2001). For people to actualize their ideas and creativities of their minds, learning is inevitable. However, the ability to learn is dissimilar for all people- some learn faster than others. This infers the notion of learning patterns. In simple terms, learning patterns can be defined as forms through people learn.
Subjects from group B and C on the other hand only managed to score a 5-8 score in the test as, there were many commissions as well as omissions.
Learning is the attainment of new information or knowledge, skills, or responses from experience that causes a fairly permanent change in behavior. There are several ways that a person or animal can learn, but no one theory is solely responsible for how they learn.
What is the most important concept that you learned in this class? Write this for a reader who is unfamiliar with the concept.
Learning is one of the most fundamental ideas humans can process. The ability of humans to learn(a) certain task is the key to what separates them from other organisms. The dictionary definition of learning was previously stated. But thi...
In this reflective account I am going to analyse how learning processes take place in healthcare settings. There are many areas for potential failure in the learner-centered classroom. Doyle states that student resistance is the biggest obstacle to overcome. The student often doesn’t understand the concept and is not receptive to it. The greatest way to deal with this potential failure is to explain the ‘why’ to the students. Students that understand why they are to do a task and understand how to apply it are more likely to overcome it.
Notice I have been using the word “learn” often. This is because we can only learn when everything is new. The definition of learn is “to acquire knowledge of or skill by instruction, s...
The understandings I have gained from this course have completely revamped my way of teaching. I have been using the unit plan and curriculum map I created in this course for the past two years, and my students enjoy it more and more each year. Learning the importance of using big ideas and essential questions in the classroom have made me a better educator and has assisted my students in learning content and skills that they can transfer to all academic areas and into their everyday lives. I now use big idea and essential questions in every ...
Everyone learns either by observing, memorizing, listening, interacting, ect.. I believe that everyone falls into all of these learning styles. Though some people fit better with one type of learning style than the other. Throughout my whole life the best way that I have been able to learn is by being a visual learner. This means that I learn better by observing and memorizing things. For me, repetition is the key to my success, much like how Temple Grandin in My Mind is a Web Browser: How People with Autism Think, would think and come up with ideas. She would picture anything and it would appear in her " Internet Web Browser" (Grandin 403). Where the "web browser" would searched for the keyword that she was thinking for. I may not have this advance type of memory system in my brain, but if I think of something it
There was a significant amount of knowledge given in this course, involving concepts that in our teaching career will be extremely important. From this course I have gained a significant amount of learning experiences. I had the pleasure learning about how the educational system has come to be what it is today and who were the important people in the creation of the public education, like Horace Mann. Watching the videos and reading the chapters required has opened my eyes more of how a teacher should respond to different situations involving a student, For example when we read the chapter on the laws that revolve around the educators and the students. I had absolutely no clue that students had rights while in school property. Another learning
