WARMUP: After noticing how important my warm-up routine was in my first fitness contract, I continued to implement a similar warm-up routine during these past three weeks. Thus, before starting any of the more intense workouts, I did a few body stretches and light walking/jogging for about 15 minutes prior my workout routine. I also learned to drink water right after my warm-up routine which caused me to feel much more resistant during my workouts. My warm-up routines really helped me to psychologically and physically prepare myself for my workout routine of the day. I also realized that I enjoyed working out early in the mornings much better because it’s a really healthy way to start off my days. STRENGHT: The first sets of exercises that …show more content…
I did a lot of research on healthy eating habits and realized that maintaining a healthy diet can be expensive. Nevertheless, I tried to eat more fruits and vegetables. Also, I put a lot of emphasis into staying hydrated so I carried a water bottle whenever I left the house. Additionally, I usually tend to go out to eat at fast food places or normal restaurants, so I stopped myself from eating outside and eating more home made meals instead. WEIGHT: At first, my goal was to maintain my body weight but as I started working out more, I saw myself losing weight. I lost about 9 pounds in the past three weeks, which made me realized that I was not consuming enough calories to burn during my workouts. Now, I feel that I need to gain a lot more weight so that I can be able to grow more muscle. Therefore, I’m currently researching healthy ways of gaining weight, and attempting to find a diet that works best for my …show more content…
For example, my body fat has decreased and I have gained more muscular strength in my upper arms. My muscular endurance has continued to improve as the number of pushups, sit-ups, dips, and pull-ups has increased. Not only have they increased, but also, they’re much easier to do. Since I have been running a lot, my step test score has improved as the recovery heart rate was much lower and I didn’t feel as exhausted as I did in the past tests. I still struggle a bit during the flexibility tests, so I definitely plan to put more emphasis on my flexibility in future workout

Our table is dismissed. I head back to gym with a full stomach, something that shouldn’t happen. Third block is the lunch block and the eighth grade special block. This shouldn’t happen and as principle the first change that would be in immediate effect would amend the schedule to be specials during first, second, and fourth block. This will cause improvements in health with gym being at least an hour away from lunch for the eighth grade; dietary habits considering people eat as minimal food as possible to preserve their stomach, and enthusiasm because students will see any change to the current schedule as a robust change. In addition, I would change the current format of the schedule. Extend math and English to 3 hour classes, but on an

Eating a healthy and balanced diet doesn’t mean you always need to buy the most expensive foods. Neither does it mean having to switch to unhealthy foods, whose price tags may appear tempting, but which contain little or no nutritional value. Simply by making a few small changes to our daily lifestyles we can eat healthily, while saving money. There is a lot of information available from all different sources such as the NHS and the web where we can find ideas for meals that are healthy, tasty and best of all, won’t break the bank! The British Heart Foundation gave a simple but very effective example it read: Keep a supply of frozen fruit and vegetables in the freezer. They tend to be cheaper than fresh fruit and vegetables but still count towards your five (or more) a day. We can get fresh and cheaper fruit and vegetables from local markets, again, is a choice that not everyone is willing to make. Conrad Dean, an American nutritionist said: `You probably think eating healthy is expensive. I’ll be honest — it is. But there are tricks to keep it low cost; consume tap Water. Check the price of...

One way that I can modify my diet is by adding more nutrient rich foods. Cut out junk foods including chips, candy, cookies, cakes and other unhealthy snacks. I can also instead of going too fast food restaurants make a salad, or make healthy lean cuisine dinners that contain all of the food groups. Eating fruits can also be a way to ensure I am getting the nutrients that I need. I could fix a cup of my favorite fruits which is pineapples and strawberries, I should also make sure that the fruits are fresh and do not have any added sugars or preservatives. It would also be helpful if I slowly take the unhealthy foods out of my diet and replace them with the nutrient- rich foods, because I feel if I just completely change my diet from what I am used to I will be harder to do. I also need to add vegetables to my diet because I rarely eat vegetables. Ways that I can add vegetables to my diet is by steaming them, grilling them or baking them. Or when I go to restaurants instead of getting my usual French fries with my meal I could instead get a side of broccoli, corn or steamed vegetables. These are some ways that I will be able to switch out the unhealthy foods and add more nutrients rich foods that will help me to develop a healthier

What is Athletic training, and what could someone do with an athletic training degree? Athletic training is a unique field because it requires a strong mental and physical ability. These trainers go by many different titles such as: physician extender, wellness manager, rehab specialist, etc. Many trainers do not work under anyone, as they have their own office outside of the athletic setting. However, these trainer also work in many other places, such as: universities, hospitals and clinics, professional sports fields, military bases, etc. With a degree in this field, one might want, for example, to work in a hospital or clinic, as stated above. For this week’s observations assignment, I have chosen to observe my home away from home the gym. Now, to garner a view of the entire gym I select to jump on the stair master which offers the best vantage point of the facility. The location of the gym is on the island of Hawaii centrally located between the different sides of the island. The time of observation is the peak operating hour of 1600. Additionally, the gym setting is natural lighting, upbeat music, and young patrons. Furthermore, the patrons of the gym are a mix of ethnicities; however, the primary ethnicity is Polynesian because of the gym 's location. Moreover, the socioeconomic class of the gym patrons seems to be middle-class citizens who dress well, have the latest technology gadgets, and newest training aids. So now that there is information regarding the atmosphere let’s move onward to the social norms.

A couple things that I need to add more to my diet are fiber and vegetables. First semester of college, I was living in the dorms called Eaton, which is located next to a dining center and a “fast food” place called Clyde’s. For me, it was very easy to walk a half of a mile down the sidewalk to get something fast to eat. What I didn’t realize was how bad their food is for you and how often I made an appearance there. It wasn’t until winter break when I came home for a couple weeks and started to get back to my old ways of eating when my mom would prepare every meal, which would include some type of meat, potatoes, and fruits and vegetables.

When I first began to exercise, I was primarily trying to add size on to my body. At the time I only weighed about one hundred sixty pounds and I was six foot one inch. I was also eight teen and feeling that my lack of participating in school sporting events, as well as my abuse of alcohol and less than ideal food choices, had stunted my physical potential. With this new found feeling of inadequacy I set off on a journey that would change my life forever. The first thing I noticed when I began searching for ways to change my body, was that I was obviously going to have to buy weights if I wanted to look like the guys in the gym. So I set out and purchased the cheapest bench and set of weights I could find. I began to mimic exercises that I had seen people do on television or while walking past the gym. In a period of about a month I had already noticed a huge difference in the amount of weight that I could lift. Within the first year of unorganized lifting, as well as no change to my eating habits, I h...
