After reading Proverbs I learned a lot about wisdom and Gods perspective on wisdom. When I think of the word wisdom I usually think about being intelligent and doing well in school and other activities.Wisdom is accepting how life works and the person God created you to be. In life there are both highs and lows and I think that learning from your mistakes and growing from the pain and suffering your experience will make you wise. I always thought that it was rare for people at a young to be wise but age does not matter when it comes to wisdom. I think that experiences and faith can make a huge difference. It 's also important to know that if you put your mind to it that you can always grow. People function in many different ways. I personally …show more content…
If you are a mean person and send out negative energy it will really impact your life. It will not only have other people help you along the way but also help you as a person and daily life. My parents always told me that good manners will always get you far in life. When you are taught lessons I think its important to follow them and not have to live in regret. God gave us free will and in order to be happy you must learn how to be wise. My personal experiences I really learned how to be the best person I can be. I faced many challenges these past few years and learned a lot of life lessons. The most important lesson I have learned in my 19 years of life is that you cant count on other people to save you or bring you true happiness. After being let down many times I was able to pick myself back up and now I love myself. Loving yourself Is truly the only way you can get through life. Like I said before, people learn at a different age …show more content…
Life goes by too fast so its important not to waste it. God wants his children to enjoy the earth he has created for us. It 's important to be mindful of everything around us. Paying attention to surroundings and not going on your phone all the time will also help you learn a lot more. When I am on my phone I 'm not paying attention to what is going on around me and I could be missing people trying to communicate with me. If God is trying to speak or show you a sign and you are too busy for him then it will be hard to continue to grow wise in faith. Once you have learned a lot about wisdom its important to pass it
On top of that, I learned a valuable lesson from the failure and the loss as well. From that day forth, the past experiences transformed me to be a hard-working and responsible person. Furthermore, I acknowledged that when something bad happens, it can prepare us for the future obstacles, so let always be optimistic and never give up on trying.
Carol S. Dweck, a social psychologist and a writer, explores that people who gain benefits from learning from their mistakes are more likely to develop to maturity. A mistake is a step toward success and if one makes changes and prevents his errors from happening he is a step closer to his success and able to grow up to his mature self. Agreeing with Dweck, by learning from mistakes people are taught through experiences and it helps to deeply imbed the knowledge into them. Therefore, People begin to aware their faults and start off to change themselves into mature person to be able to fit in the adult society. Adulthood is the experience every living person has to encounter. Growing up to maturity means having
In simple words, relativism is the thought that all beliefs and self-truths are just an opinion that cannot be proven true or false. It is simply the thought that your beliefs are no greater or lesser than mine, we are equal. Knowledge is determined by specific qualities of the observer including age, ethnicity, gender, and cultural conditioning. But is relativism a reliable source when looking into life as a whole. For example, based on the thoughts of relativism Jesus and Osama Bin Laden are equal. I believe that relativism isn’t a reliable argument when talking about issues in the world today. Now, in terms of relativism being introduced to society I believe that a majority of people would adopt the concept automatically, while some would stick to their previous beliefs. Some might already believe and live by this concept while others might just adopt this concept because they don’t like the thought of conflict, then of course there are those that stick to their beliefs no matter what. I feel like relativism is appealing to some people because they just like the thought of everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that they can believe what they want. It is said that America is land of the free and home of the brave, that all people have the right to free speech. But what if you “know” that what people believe is wrong and what you believe is right who’s to say which option is true and which is false? This is why relativism is one of the most heavily debated topics today.
While Solomon and Socrates had the same perspective on what wisdom was, they had contrasting understandings on where it came from. Solomon’s definition of wisdom was the knowledge of making wise choices. Proverbs 1:2-3 says,
The lessons are numerous and range from trivial to profound, but there’s one that's had the most impact on my life. Fortunately, I was born into a unconditionally loving family with good health and parents that I feel comfortable talking to under almost any circumstance. Until I got to really know my friends, I was aware that not everybody’s lives were like this but never really understood what a life without those privileges was like. But then my perspective changed when I found out that a couple of my friends have terrible relationships with their parents and suffer from depression and anxiety. Another one of my friends suffers from chronic migraines and has been hospitalized three times in the past year. All of my friends are incredible individuals, and knowing in detail of what they withstand on a daily basis has made me more empathetic to the people around me. I think we all forget sometimes that other people are people, we subconsciously go into this state of mind thinking we’re the center of the whole world. But in actuality, that is not the case; everyone else has their own unique lives and issues they’re dealing with. So what I’ve learned by knowing of my friends’ distinctive stories is just to be more cognizant of others. It's difficult to have that state of mind all the time, but in doing so I have better relationships with
Wisdom is something that is very hard to judge because something that might be right to someone might not be right to another person. With that being said wisdom can be a confusing issue. The common misconception of wisdom is that old people can only be wise, which in most cases is true but young people also can be wise or act wisely
What does it mean to be wise? Webster's Dictionary defines the word "wise" as being "marked by deep understanding, keen discerment". Through the telling of the ancient Mariner's tale, the Wedding-Guest became sadder and wiser. He became sad in that he identified himself with the shallow and self-absorbed mariner. However, the mariner changed his ways. The Wedding-Guest became wise through realizing that he himself needed to alter his ways.
Motherhood has taught me many life lessons. Before becoming a mother, I was a self centered child. I had no motivation to succeed. All I was worried about was where the next party was. At that time I had no want to try because I was so scared to fail. I was slowly progressing to go nowhere and do nothing with my life. That has all changed now. I no longer party or use drugs. I work full time, attend college full time and devote my all to my children. Without them I would probably be in a jail cell not where I am today.
Life lessons are good for people. They can help you more than they can hurt you. They really don’t hurt you, because they are like warnings for the bad stuff out in the world today. They are just little helpful hints. They are especially helpful when you are in the time of need. If a life’s lesson hurts you, you are using them in the wrong way.
Proverbs 16:16-17 affirms, “How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver. The highway of the upright avoids evil; those who guard their ways preserve their lives”. Wisdom is priceless, a value that is immeasurable. Insight gives one the clarity in any situation and guides one through their decision making. Living a life of wisdom prevents the upright from evil and helps preserve their life. To gain wisdom and insight gives courage and excitement. Proverbs 4:7 expounds, “Wisdom is supreme—so get wisdom. And whatever else you get, get understanding” (Holman Christian Standard Bible). One looks forward to the future with an expected hope, and faith that God’s blessings will meet them wherever God leads with abundance. When one uses the lessons from Proverbs as the model one receives the wisdom and the spiritual growth from practice.
... that if you make the right decision, God will help you, he will guide and save you. This maybe the details that are left out of Proverbs, there may not be a need for detail at all. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, don’t be lazy, the out come then will be the help of the Lord. This advice is God/dess’ guidance, it is then up to you which path you will take, what decisions will be made, and which life you choose to live. The Lord can only bring us this far; He/She is unable to help, if we are do not make the right decisions and live righteously.
some of us are born wiser then the rest and some of us are just born stronger. For this
The positives from my experience is that I have learned to accept help from others, to appreciate the little things I never did before, to see my mother in a new light and to have a reason to fight back for the things I want back. I never liked help with anything I did growing up and I resented people who helped. In school I would only ask for help when I needed it and even yet my elementary teachers would give help anyway. Not being able to even walk to the bathroom myself made me
There are numerous lessons that I have learned from life, they were lessons that I learned from good and bad experiences in life. Different experiences from school and out of school that has made me the way I am today. There is a long list of experiences that in reality did not teach me much.
When I contemplate human nature, I believe people know life is finite and while animals live to survive, humans live to try be remembered. People yearn to persist, this explains society’s obsession with immortality, vampires, zombies, and the longing to be reminisced. Collectively, I think many humans dread loneliness, society equates isolation with emptiness and as a substitute they engage in a surplus of consumerism to feel comfort. People relentlessly upload pictures to feel reassured by others. People desire authentic connection and due to technology and social media, I conclude that many people fail to create meaningful relationships. There is a subtle hollowness that many oppose, yet never resolve.
