Over the course of this past semester, I believe that many of my personal goals were achieved as well as my academic goals. The skill I feel I have most improved on is fitness, 2017 more than ever, I learned about the importance of working out and taking care of your body. Having fitness at school helped me to further improve my limits when working out. My attitude towards building my self confidence and pushing myself to be more “fit”, heighted because of encouragement from friends, my teacher actually wanting us (the students) to do our best, and the self belief that I could better myself. Being able to workout with friends helped me more than I imagined it would, seeing them succeed encouraged me to thrive as much as I could. Thanks to …show more content…
I’ve made new friend as well has keeping the old ones, I strongly believe that my friendships have been strengthened because of gym class. The friendships I made in gym are different than ones I’ve made in other classes because we have been with each other in situations that can typically be uncomfortable, for example sweating our butts off in 12 Days of Christmas. I also feel like past friendships have improved, because we get consistently encourage each other through a hard workout or …show more content…
When someone starts working out and eating healthy, their body will reward them. Their mental health will improve, prolong their life expectancy, they lower their chances of health problems, example diabetes, boast their self confidence, lower their blood pressure, and increase their energy level, plus so many other great things. A lot of people nowadays think that they are too busy to workout or that since they’re always on the go there’s no way that they can eat healthy home cooked meals, but that of course is not totally true. Living a healthy lifestyle and being fit can be easy, you don’t have to go to a gym to get a good workout in,just some basic exercises that you know work for your body, can be done right in your home. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be time consuming and expensive, preparing a week worth of food aka meal planning, is the best way to make sure that you’re eating the right amount of food and it’s a great way to prevent overspending at a grocery store because you don’t know what you’re going to eat in the next week. Taking care of yourself is something everyone should have time for, you only have one body so treat it
This lifestyle also taught me to eat healthy and clean food. It motivated me to work out consistently. It influenced me to be consistent. As a result, I can sense that I am becoming healthier and healthier day by day.
Some people think eating healthy and exercising daily is too time consuming and expensive. The Department of Health and Human Services recommend that a person get two and a half hours of moderate exercise or an hour and fifteen minutes of intense exercise a week (n.d., paragraph 2). The Department also suggests a half an hour of exercise minimum daily (n.d.,paragraph). Unfortunately to some, those thirty minutes are thirty minutes more than they want to spend or have the time to spend exercising. The cost of eating healthy can also be more than people are willing or able to spend. The healthiest diets seem to cost about $1.50 more than the least healthy diets, which is on average $550 a year (Eating healthy vs. unhealthy diets cost about $1.50 more per day, 2013, 1,3). For some people, the time and money seem to overpower the benefits of treating the body correctly to ensure its longevity. The benefits of healthy eating and moderate exercise far outweigh the monetary cost and...

All the same, working out for the sake of health and well-being is becoming increasingly important as we continue to learn the effects of inactivity. A person should start young if they want to form a strong habit of being physically healthy. As I have stated many times in my plan, the activities I do now have huge implications of how my life will look as I age. Since May 1st of this year, I promised myself that I would take my health journey more seriously. While I have worked on my fitness at the gym, I also have in the kitchen. I am learning each day what it looks like to eat healthy. During this journey of high’s and low’s, I am learning to love my body and its abilities. Being healthy means I am glorifying God and I feel good. This journey is making an incredible difference in my life, and I am so confident that it is laying a foundation for the rest of my life. I intend to be this intentional with my physical health as I age. During retirement, I will still go to the gym three times a week. Getting out of the house and being active is important. I would love to take classes at the YMCA or a local fitness center, like yoga or Zumba. Investing in a treadmill is a must because I will want to stay active when it gets colder out. Also, having grandchildren will certainly keep me on my feet. Maybe we will have a dog that we can walk as well. My desire to always stay busy and
Following a healthy lifestyle has now become an emerging trend. Research and many studies have proven that merely exercise will not entitle an individual as healthy. A good nutrition
People should also consider doing more activities in order to maintain a healthy status. According to the Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Agriculture, “physical activity levels have remained low over time”. This research proves that young adults are eating more and exercising less. Maybe changing eating habits and doing more exercise would help them to improve their health.
Nutrition and fitness play two of the most important roles in human health, and it is not difficult to understand some of the consequences for ignoring their significance. Ignoring proper nutritional and fitness habits can lead to extreme health risks such as obesity; most of which will eventually cause serious health issues up to and including death. To decrease these serious health risks and promote favorable personal health, one should incorporate positive nutritional and fitness habits.
Many people have trouble understanding what a healthy lifestyle is. They often picture endless hours in the gym and being on a crazy liquid diet. Others may think they can spend an hour doing a hard workout and then go eat whatever they want because “they workout”. Once balance is found a healthy lifestyle becomes easy. Understanding the difference between balance and being strict and obsessive about what you eat and when you work out is key. Some have an extremely hard time learning a balance. If they eat junk food, they feel guilty. If they miss a workout, they feel guilty. The truth is, junk food and rest days are great in moderation. Find a balance will help them feel much happier, healthier and even see more physical results. Getting an ideal physique is simply, 80% diet and 20% exercise. The best thing to do is eat healthy, well portioned meals at least five days a week. Then allow one or two days of eating more relaxed foods in moderation without any guilt. If one has a few cheat meals, or in other words, foods that aren’t very healthy, are not going to make them “fat” or gain weight. Especially if they are also working hard in the gym five to six days a week.
Now a days everyone complains of how tired we feel, of how we have gained weight, and probably what we hear the most is why we can’t have healthy looking skin like all the superstars. There are so many choices to make when starting to eat healthy. People begin to question should I eat everything is the food pyramid, should I be counting all of my calories. Starting to eat healthy can be a bit overwhelming for everyone and everyone is thinking that starting process is difficult or that they are being peered pressured and that’s one of the main reasons why people quit before even starting.
The majority of people in this society try to exercise and eat right to stay healthy. The problem is that they worry more about exercising and not getting good nutrition. They do not understand that exercise is not enough to be healthy. In order to be healthy, people should be aware of what they eat. This may not be easy for everyone, but one can get support from family and friends in order for it to be easy. Good nutrition is more important than regular exercise because it helps in losing weight, helps to fuel the body, prevent the risk of getting diseases, and helps building muscles.
Living a healthy lifestyle is a melting pot of several factors. One is not able to live a healthy lifestyle without a solid diet and workout foundation. The harmful side effects of processed food, drugs, alcohol, and sleep deprivation trump one’s life while mental and emotional stability aids in a healthy lifestyle. According to Jillian Michaels, “The right diet will regulate your blood sugar, balance your hormones, and maximize your energy, all of which promote optimal fat burning and muscle development.” None the less, one must form a platform based on healthy morals and principles in order to live life to its fullest potential.
Cardiovascular disease is known to be the leading cause of death. One would ponder upon the main cause of such a disease. When it comes to the risk factors, the two main causes of cardiovascular disease are lack of physical activity and unhealthy eating habits. “You are what you eat” is a common phrase, which is used to emphasize the significance of a healthy diet as key to a better health. For instance, if an individual consumes unhealthy meals on a daily basis, he or she would accumulate fat in their body and be unhealthy. Exercising and consuming healthy foods daily not only improve the health of an individual, but also extend his or her life span. The main benefits of exercising and nutrition include weight control, increased energy, better health, better mood, and stronger bones.
Healthy living is a change not everyone is willing to do. Even with small replacements in your daily life, you can start to see big changes in how your body starts working. Maintaining a healthy life style can benefit your life in many ways. Being healthy can improve your bodies ability to stand against infections or diseases. It can also aid in giving you more energy, as well as helping you sleep better. Another advantage to keeping a healthy life style is you'll be stronger, and feel better about the way your body feels. Despite the overly expensive food or the pricey monthly bills from the gym you hardly go too, simple steps can assist you in living a long healthy life without the extra effort.
During the semester, I learned a lot on how to deal with psychological distress and how as an athletic trainer I should deal with athletes to overcome their situation and be there for them. Throughout my time as an athletic training student, I always liked to observe my preceptors on how they deal with athletics that are having psychological distress after injuries, and how as an athletic trainer I should handle these situations in a professional manner. There is one situation in particular that occurred during the King’s College football season that I would like to discuss.
