Prior to taking this class, my writing skills were poor and I struggled in various areas of writing. Being that this class required writing papers, I was greatly concerned with writing perfectly, but I was also excited to learn how to write better and improve my skills. Looking back, however, I have realized how taking this course along with receiving the feedback and advice from both my classmates and tutors has helped me improve as a writer while also increasing the confidence in myself to complete and accomplish future tasks.
Taking this course has helped me (as far as grammar is concerned) become better in my writing skills.
The feedback and advice received from my classmates and the tutors also helped me see the errors in my writing and correct them. One of my favorite things about this course were the peer review assignments because they helped me see the problems in my writing that I would not have seen had a new pair of eyes had viewed my work. The reverse side of that also helped in viewing my classmate’s work helped me to see some of the common mistakes I make in my own writing. The journals also helped a lot from reading the story and seeing it from different perspectives as everyone told it in their own words. All of the journals and discussions helped build my critical thinking skills and realize the

The multimedia on the MyWritingLab and other websites such as owl.english.purdue.edu, are just some of the many resources I have learned greatly from during this course. Lastly, taking this class has increased my confidence as a writer in knowing that with hard work and dedication, anything can be accomplished. Prior to taking this class, my writing skills were poor and I often struggled in various areas. Now looking back, I can see those same areas, though I still need some practice, I have greatly improved in. I now know that as I practice and polish my writing skills, I will get better each day. In conclusion, I have to say that I am going to miss this class dearly.
I would especially like to thank you, Professor Belz for your instruction and guidance throughout this course. Not only has this class helped me in just composition, but it has given me the confidence to work harder in my future courses. The first time we ever do something, it can seem scary and impossible, but as we move forward day by day, our confidence grows as we discover how to do things better. Now that this course is over, I know that I am one step closer to my ultimate goal and that this will give me the courage to keep going even when I feel like quitting and giving

Now, I not only have a new found confidence in writing and in my life skills. Mrs.Cohen provided proper feedback and guidance with each assignment. Due to this, my writing confidence flourished. Without this course, not to mention the teacher, I would not even think about applying for dual enrollment. I certainly feel I have improved in English classes and my passion was rekindled. Mrs.Cohen made me find the enjoyment in writing again and inspired me to be myself. I wish to keep my work ethic, strong to become successful while being myself and I will be forever thankful for
Entering this course I was worried because I have struggled with writing in the past, and writing has never been my strongest area. I feared writing classes in middle and high school, and had the same expectations for this course. I had wondered if I was ready for college English, and was worried that my skills and abilities would not be one the level they needed to be for college courses. My attitude and understanding of my writing process have both changed since the beginning of this semester. One thing that really helped my attitude and confidence was the fact that I was able to complete the assignments and get a decent grade. I was worried that I might not be able to do college level writing, and when I started completing the assignments and learning new ways to write my confidence and attitude changed. Another thing that really helped me throughout this course was that there was plenty of reading and information available to guide me through my assignments. I realized that there was more freedom when it comes to writing than I had experienced in high school. Being able to write more freely, and the freedom to choose what subjects I would write over made the assignments more enjoyable and easier to
During my first semester of college, I felt like this course overshadowed all the others. I faced many challenges, gained better habits, and even increased the value of myself as a scholar. Not only did my professor provide her students with the course material she built a confidence inside of us that will allow us to be able to tackle any task, especially pertaining to any written compositions. The things that I have learned from this course could and will be applied to any and everything I do from here on out, whether that writing an essay or even taking a test. Again, the journey was long, but I will be forever grateful for the things that I, and all of my peers have gained from this
This class was far more intense than what I expected but I was able to make it through the semester. I learned a lot from this class that I will carry into the future and use in other classes. All of the revision and feedback I have received during the time in the class helped me in the end. I feel like I am gradually becoming a better writer. I will take everything that I have learned in this class and use it for future reference when writing papers. I overall have enjoyed this class this semester.
I have always known that writing was not my strong point. Entering writing 101 in September I was very much afraid. I knew that the expectations would be very high for this course; thus it would be more difficult than any other writing class I had previously taken. At first writing was a nightmare for me, but thanks to the assistance from professor Smart and my tutors, I have improved drastically in my writing skills and, as a result I am now a better writer. During the course of four months, I have learned so much. There were a few bumps in the way throughout the semester, but I managed to overcome them. It is hard to believe that my journey in writing 101 is coming to an end. Through my hard work and dedication, this class has helped me to build confidence in my writing that will help me throughout my college life.

Personally, I believe that I have gained valuable knowledge in my English classes. Recently, I am about to end my third English course of college and it has been a good experience, those courses helped and influenced a lot in my writing. I believe I did more than just improve my writing skills. I received some rhetorical and genre knowledge, and learned about the writing process and how to appropriately enter a conversation without losing my own style of writing.
...larify the structure and destination in which I was headed. By revising my essays I was able to make the content and message seem more important and made the final drafts seem a slight degree better than the originals, but the finals were better nonetheless. The instructor did a very good job in guiding me and helping find my way into writing by focusing on some of the problems I was facing and clarified them so that I would better understand them. The instructor helped me expand on my grammatical by helping me discover what it was that I lacked while constructing basic sentence structure; the usage of commas and semi-colons, quotations, and how to sight titles of books and articles within an essay. This English 101 course I have attended has helped me develop better writing skills as well as helped me create more profound essays and a very satisfying research paper.
I am not the kind of person who talks or writes much. Putting my thoughts on papers is something I have always struggled with doing. I believe this class will help me improve on transferring my thoughts to paper, in an organized fashion. I look forward to becoming a better writer because of this class.
The lessons learned in this class will help me write much better papers in my other classes as I now understand how to think and write critically. Additionally, this class has instilled in me writing principles that I employ even at work as I now evaluate my emails for writing style, grammar, and tone before sending. As I advance through the doctoral program, I know the lessons learned in this class will assist me in writing scholarly papers in less time, with fewer errors, and more confidence now that I understand and have had practice in the concept of scholarly
Also, I was able to see how arguments are sometimes so broad that you do not know what way to take them. I believe the biggest help to me through this unit was being able to see where in my writing process I have strengths like authority and logic and where my weaknesses lie like emotions. I feel showing more emotions could become a problem for me when it comes to creative writing, if a have to do it, because I am so used to the template academic and research writing styles. This course is definitely helping me to reshape my writing process and how I look at certain sources. Also how I can tell whether a source is useful in terms of logic, authority, and
Before I attended this course, I had studied English for 6 years. I learned some writing skills for the English proficiency test (TOEFL). For instance, I was familiar with the organization and structure of an academic paper. To be more specific, introduction parts included
This guidance class has helped me get a better understanding of how to become a successful student in college. There are many feelings about learning how to be a better writer and a better critical thinker. Sometimes is fun to write and sometimes is not fun at all. The things I like about learning from this class was how to write in details and be specific about it and think with more in details and be specific as well. And by That i can express how I feel throughout my writing and it was very helpful skill for me to learn. The things I didn 't like about learning from this class was when I wrote a paper I would always have to fixed it later but it was a great strategy for me to improve on my writing and
