Introduction A biblical worldview is a vital tool in any Christian’s toolbox. Without a biblical worldview how are Christians supposed to look through rose-colored classes at the world. Take what they see and take what they have learned in the Bible and have them work together. A biblical worldview is how a Christian looks at the world and the events in the world, and responds to what they see.
Natural World Romans 1-8 teaches the readers about the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture. It is very important to know what each of these topics is, and how it impacts an individual’s biblical worldview. The first thing that Romans 1-8 teaches us is the natural world. The natural world is the world that we live in today; full of birds, animals, plants, other people.

God considers this a foolish act. In Roman 1:22-23 the Bible states, “Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles”. As clear in this verse we as Christians were wise, but then we became foolish. Carman author of the online article “Reflection on Romans 1-8” states, “Romans chapters one and three give a clear description of the state of the natural world. God created the Earth for man to enjoy in abundance and for mankind to be in direct and intimate fellowship with Him. He created man with a conscious whereby we could discern God’s presence and
Schultz (2006) defines a biblical worldview as one in which Christ is the center of everything and everything is based upon the Bible. This does not mean that only the Bible is taught, rather, every subject is seen through the lens of the Truth found in the Word of God. In a biblical worldview, God is seen as ultimate reality and truth. Because truth and reality reside with God they do not change but are transcendent, universal and eternal. This eternal perspective must be fully understood by each teacher and modeled and taught to each student. When reality is defined by God the Bible bec...
Secular Humanism and Biblical Worldview are beliefs with different worldview meanings. Secular Humanism is a belief that doesn’t believe in the God. Biblical worldview is a belief in God and his word. Secular humanism worldview believes that man exist and found only nature. In secular humanism world science is source for knowledge and existence. In the Christian worldview has belief in everything that existence such as man, God, and other things. Christians also believes there will be eternal life and secular humanism believes when man dies life is over.
Genesis 1-11 is often referred to as the Primeval History. In Genesis 1 we identify the creation story which moves on toward Adam and Eve in Genesis 2. The Fall occurs in Genesis 3; Cain and Abel in chapter 4; Noah, the flood, and the covenant in chapters 5-9. It concludes with the table of nations in chapter 10 and The Tower of Babel in chapter 11. There is an abundance of information that may have happened millions of years ago, depending on what one believes. How then does this inform our Christian worldview? After studying Genesis 1-11, I have come to realize that it is crucial for informing our Christian worldview. Genesis 1-11 establishes an origin for humanity and creation, a relational approach for humanity with God through the image of God, and introduces sin as the reason for Christ.
A Christian worldview leads us to believe in moral absolutes, miracles, human dignity, and the possibility of redemption. True Christianity is more than a set of ideas used at church. Christianity, as taught in the Bible, is itself a worldview. The Bible never dis...
Genesis 1-11 sets the foundation for several concepts pertaining to the biblical worldview. These chapters illustrate the ideal relationship with God, creation, and others before the fall of man. It shows how sin affected human relationships and identities that still exist today. The chapters begin with a perfect creation and end with the division of men from God due to their wicked nature. “This section explains the terrible progress of sin and the reason God’s redemptive program was necessary. Thus, it is the foundation of the biblical worldview, and without this part the rest would be somewhat incomprehensible” (Hindson & Yates). Four concepts, found in Genesis 1-11, that set the foundation for the biblical worldview are the natural world,
...nature of God, the world, and human beings, the Bible is a source from which a reasonably comprehensive worldview may be constructed. Many narratives or teachings of Scripture speak directly to the various elements of a worldview” (Palmer, pp 93) .
The essay, “A Christian World View,” by Mickenzie Neely seeks to address some major themes that pertain to a Christian worldview. The essay, in summary, states that “serving others, accepting and giving grace, sacrifice, and justice are all essential to living for Christ.” This essay was presented in a way in which she used facts and scriptures from the Bible to support her point. This paper will analysis Neely’s main arguments and will evaluate my opinion of her writing. The main topics that apply to my Christian worldview are love, service, grace and forgiving.
Although a worldview ensues what a person believes about the great questions of life, a biblical worldview stands far more intense since it’s filtered through the bible and the outlook stays Christ focused. The book of Romans in the Bible provides an example of what a biblical worldview should be like. As a result of Paul’s truths in Romans 1-8, believers have been able to grasp an understanding of the teachings that express the idea of a biblical worldview that God intended us to perceive.
The Bible is our textbook life, and it also places a high value on doctrine. God wants us to know important things, and gave us the bible to help, and guide us. Unfortunately, many Christians know very little about the Bible and its Christian doctrine. We believers put our interest in other things, and know a lot about things that do not matter. In Romans 6: 1 introduces us to the major doctrines of the Christian faith.
My own definition of worldview is set of beliefs about the most important issues in life and my reaction to it. While in agreement with Jeff Baldwin’s eyeglass concept, I choose to compare my Christian worldview to an internal navigational system. When I am lost and need to be found, Christ is omnipresent. He knows my location and guides me into another direction. “It’s a roadmap, a guide for getting around in life, for interpreting reality, and for making choices” (The Importance of Worldview, 2011, p.11). Hopefully my final destination will be in the “city of gold, as clear as glass” (NLT, Revelation, 21:18).
The biblical worldview is essentially the integration of fundamental biblical teachings to become a meaningful and unified response to the routine opportunities and challenges of modern life. An individual wholly inscribed into a biblical worldview projects a belief system that the core purpose of existence is to love and serve the Lord God alone. Essentially, a Christian worldview is formed in reference of the infallible living Word of God (Tackett, 2014). After a believer fully believes the living Word of God then allows it to form the basis of everything in their life. That implies, for instance, that when a believer chooses to pursue Romans 13 to respect people in authority then must take priority in voting and electing new leaders into power. A bible believing person should lead a life that portrays the biblical teachings and truths. As practical Christians our gut reaction should be limited to the biblical established truths (Wayne, 2014).
A worldview can be defined as a set of beliefs by which you live your life. This means that everything you say and do is defined by your worldview or set of beliefs. A biblical worldview is a God centered belief system, one where everything that you do is filtered through your belief in God and the Bible. MacCullough (2012) says, “These beliefs are the answers we hold to the basic questions
All people have a worldview that is based on personal beliefs forming their reality and what they feel is meaningful in life. I am a Christian of faith that has a biblical worldview, which is based on the word of God. The Book of Romans 1-8 provides the word of God and answers for how Christians can live a righteous life for our savior Jesus Christ.
I began this course thinking my worldview was that of a Christian Theist, as I had come to discover, as the course progressed, my worldview was a mixed bag of beliefs outside the elementary belief of Christian Theism. I was not disheartened by this finding, but surprised. The realization then set in that I was uneducated or did not know God like I thought. In fact my beliefs appeared to be more influenced by society than the deity of God. Fortunately, this is a learning experience intended to bring me closer to the truths of Christianity and an understanding of the beliefs of others.
Humanity. This one word conveys a whole sense of emotion and thought, from melancholy despair to bright hope. We humans are notoriously fickle creatures, and understanding us is rather difficult, as is the mechanisms we construct, like the economy or society. The Bible is a mobile library, and in it has many literary styles, that teach us about humanity, society, God, and how to make sense of it all. The Bible teaches us about humanity through its narrative, its poetry, and its discourses. The Bible Project says that the narrative style makes up about 43% of the Bible, poetry makes up 33%, and prose discourse makes up the remaining 24% (Literary Styles in the Bible, The Bible Project). Each one shows us how humanity works in different ways. Narrative is the most prevalent, and that makes
