Reader Reflection Three
In "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" a short story written by Flannery O'Connor in 1953. There are ten characters in this story. One of the characters doesn't really appear in the story but is a flashback to when the Grandmother was younger and that character is Edgar Atkins Teagarden. The story starts off with the Grandmother arguing that she does not want to go to Florida because there is a misfit on the loose. Bailey the farther decides to go anyway and on the way to Florida they stop at gas station and talk to the owner Red Sammy Butts. While the family was at the gas station Red Sammy Butts tells them about how he let us in people get gas on credit and they didn't pay him back. Then the family is driving down the road and grandma started to reminisce and convince them to go to this house with a secret panel. Bailey the father doesn't want go but the kids yelling and screaming so he decides to go down the road. The family starts down the road with and a cat that grandma was trying to hide in a basket causes the father flip the car. After the cars done and lands in a ditch the mother has broken shoulder and scratch on her face but no one's really injured. The Misfit talks about how he didn't know what he went to jail for and how same thing happened to Jesus but they did not have papers on Jesus. The Misfit is a sociopath cold blood or killer with no motion at the very and he suggests that someone should shut the Grandmother every day of her life this says a lot about his character and what he thought of the
