Upon reflection of the UNIV 100 course, I realize there are three primary areas that I learned that will assist me in attaining my degree. They are: time management; software and online tools; and critical thinking. First, time management must play a part to be successful. Therefore, I struck a balance and set priorities in my life that included church, family, work, exercise, and rest (The Holy Bible: New International Version, Mat 6.33; 1 Tim 5.8; Heb 4.10). Without balance, everything falls apart. Therefore, I made provisions to keep everything in the proper perspective and priority. Another discovery were the helpful tools that I put to use. These tool are increasing my effectiveness and the quality of my research. For instance, I began
My experience into English 111 not only left me anxious, it became a self-revelation. My learning capabilities were challenged because writing did not come natural and the possibility of becoming a prominent writer were going to take a lot of time, effort and hard work. In spite of not knowing what to expect, I entered into this new semester pumped up carrying an “I can do this” attitude and feeling confident.
Therefore, I need to strengthen my knowledge so I won't have missing links, have the right knowledge for any situation I encounter, and master the use of time management. I need these skills to become a successful student and pierce through the obstacle I came across. It is important for me to keep remembering these because not only they will help me become a successful student, it would also make me a great individual in the future.
Balancing my priorities by using an organized system has significantly helped me to manage my course work and assistantship goals and be able to include time for my training goals. The most impactful activity has been setting up a monthly, weekly, and daily calendar that covered the entire term with an outline of all major course assignments and assistantship projects with a clear timeline to complete all requirements. Unlike previous semesters, I felt more at ease during the final couple weeks of the semester compared to my peers. This semester, I will continue to commit Thursdays and Fridays to research assistantship work only. Structuring my time this way has really helped me to focus on specific assignments: I feel more effective when I can dedicate an entire day to one project, paper, or task. Though simple, writing everything down and keeping track of my time has facilitated effective prioritization of my time to achieving my goals.
This essay will explore the authors meaning of reflection, how various reflective styles can benefit the practitioners within their settings, and how important reflection is within Early Years Practice. According to Appleby (2010, p.10), reflection is a generic term which describes various behaviours involving feelings, and thinking about thoughts and experiences, in order to examine issues and develop, new understandings and insights. Reflection within practice allows the practitioner to develop a sense of awareness around their daily activities, and helps them to evaluate how they could evolve these activities further, if the given opportunity was to arise again. Similarly, keeping a reflective journal

Through the completion of my graduate program in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and a plethora of skills which I have used and found valuable in my seventh grade English classroom. My outlook on student learning and my empathy towards students has also been positively affected by the program. These learning opportunities have led me to become a better educator both inside and outside of the classroom.

The syllabus is a commonly created and shared document in the education world (Parkes & Harris, 2010). For some high school, and most higher education courses, it is the first form of contact between an instructor and their students. The organization and content of the syllabus sets the tone of the course and stands as a resource throughout the semester or year. Continual analysis, reflection and refinement helps to maintain the syllabus as a dynamic educational resource for every student in that class (Slattery & Carlson, 2010). An effective syllabus provides, not only an introduction and overview into the course, but also outlines the academic standards and essential questions that are to be covered, shares the course schedule and
To begin with, I changed my time management in order to balance between study and entertainment. During high school, I had a poor time management. I attended school for seven hours and tutorial classes after school every day. After that, I had to do tons of homework such as book report, essay and assignment. Although it was late after finishing all my work, I surfed the Internet instead of going to sleep. I always thought that I still have much time left, so I procrastinated all the time. I slept only five hours a day, so I fell asleep in class. As I was not concentrated in class, I missed many important points from the teacher. I had to use more time to study after school so as to catch up. After having the poor experience, I understand the importance of having a good time management, so I tried to plan my work in the college. During college, I have much more free time. I have classes four to five hours a day and the rest is my free time, hence, it is important to have a good time management. I have to make sure that I do not use up my time in surfing the Internet. My goal of attending
Everyone has a different view on how they learn and learning itself. First starting in EXP 105, my understanding of learning was new knowledge and becoming wiser. Taking EXP 105 has truly increased my knowledge of what learning is and the process of it. The most important thing I have learned about learning is that you observe the world around you, make sure it is understandable, and figure out the right way to respond. Learning also provides critical thinking skills. Everyone have different ways of learning and those ways are based on four different learning patterns. The four different types of learning patterns are Sequence, Precision, Technical Reasoning, and Confluence. Learning patterns are very helpful when it comes to everyday life, school work, and your job. Knowing your learning patterns and which ones you should use make
For the time being, I have my future almost completely planned out, which, for me, is an odd thing to have to do, as I am not usually the type who plans far ahead--only do I plan ahead in the short-term when some very demanding cause is at hand. But, as my future sits, it holds that I complete undergraduate school, move on to Medical school, and take all the steps necessary in becoming an ophthalmologist--the division of eye doctors that focuses on usually severe diseases of the eye; diagnosing, treating, and operating on such complications. School and profession are not my only focuses though. I have a passion for art and though I do not want to pursue a career in this area, I want to eventually open an art
