In Jon Favreau’s movie Iron Man, the story starts off with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) riding in a military convoy with U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. While joking around with the soldiers, their vehicle suddenly gets attacked. Tony quickly runs out and hides behind a nearby boulder while the soldiers attempt to fight but are rapidly killed. All of a sudden Stark sees a missile fired which lands close to him. Before it detonates, he notices that the missile has the Stark Industries logo on it. When it explodes, the missile severely injures Tony allowing the terrorists to capture and record him on video.
The movie then flashes back to 36 hours before the attack takes place so the audience can understand how Tony Stark presented himself before he became Iron Man. In the public’s eye, Tony was known as a billionaire, genius, playboy, entrepreneur and philanthropist that became the CEO of his father’s company, Stark Industries, at the young age of 21. He was more concerned about having a good time and partying instead of working hard and caring about the improvement of his own company. When Tony was offered to accept an award for his accomplishments, his right-hand man Obadiah Stane (former partner of Tony’s father Howard Stark), takes the award for him because Tony was nowhere to be found. It is then when Starks good friend Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes goes looking for him eventually finding him partying in a nearby casino which shows that Tony has a lack of respect for others and only cares about what he wants to do instead of what he should be doing. He then goes on to avoid answering a reporter’s questions about Stark Industries and instead brings her back to his house and sleeps with her. In the morning, we are int...

...illing the Iron Monger. Also without Rhodey, Tony Stark would have not been able to keep his project so secretive to the general public and saved his life when the fighter jets were in pursuit of the “unidentified aircraft.”
In order to finance Tony’s secret project of the Mack II and Mack III, Pepper was able to assist him being his executive assistant along with Tony already being a billionaire and owning a company which builds military weapons. Since Tony is the CEO of Stark Industries and a genius, everything that happens within his company first goes through him. However, I believe that he should not have tried to run everything and keep his projects secret from everyone like he did throughout the movie. In the real world great ideas and inventions come from groups of people so that all the best ideas from each individual can be put into one great outcome.
Lupito’s death marks the first scene in the novel in which Tony’s grief is a direct consequence of his knowledge. Tony’s naiveté causes him to take people at their face value, not realizing that they may not be as they seem. Narciso is the town drunk, yet he is the only man on the bridge that maintains his common sense. “’I...
In the end, Tony plays the role of both hero and villain. His wife, Marcela, represents both the whore and the virgin Mexican-American. The both prove unfaithful: Tony to America and Marcela to Mexico. Herein lays the schizophrenic world in which good and bad coexist across the borders of two emerging world countries struggling for control of land and culture. There’s a price to be paid for such human greed and unrealistic expectations. Ultimately it proves to be a place where virtue doesn’t remain intact and villains abound, even among the good guys!
Tony did not want his younger brother to follow in his footstep but “Tony was now full-time in the streets, splitting his time between his father’s and girlfriend’s apartments in the Murphy Homes Project. He was a veteran of the drug game at eighteen”(The Other Wes Moore 57). Tony lived a life of crime when he became a drug dealer which earned money for him as a leaving. Though it did create a source of income for the struggling family, this was a very negative example for the young Other Wes to live by. As a result of not having any other people to help guide him to a successful path to living, Other Wes reverted to living by Tony’s destructive actions. Inevitably, Other Wes joined Tony on the streets selling various drugs as a career. His street life consumed his entire life so much he eventually dropped out of high school to concentrate on selling drugs. His illegal activities became so detrimental to his life that it resulted in prison on multiple occasions due to drug deals and firing a handgun. The role Tony had on Wes contributed towards the actions and downfall of Other Wes. His life could be the same, however, a different role model could have drastically changed his mindset and kept him off the streets which resulted in him living a destructive and
Why does He allow evil to triumph the good in the world? Why does He let good people die? Tony pondered these thoughts following the witness of Narciso’s death, an unforeseen event. Narciso was the town’s drunk, but not necessarily a bad person. He acquired distinctive characteristics that was blind to the captiously critical. He was a man of the Earth, cultivating organic and virtuous substances from authentic soil. In doing so, Narciso was building his own treasure in a world filled with suffering. The night of Narciso’s death painted his true colors. He was selfless, a man with good intentions. He was willingly putting his life at risk, while protecting the flesh and blood of an esteemed elder, Ultima. “I wanted to cry out into the storm that it was not fair that Narciso die for doing good, that it was not fair for a mere boy to be at the dying of a man,” (Anaya 170). One must not disregard the fact that Tony was a child, enraged with curiosity and confusion. He questioned the level of fairness within God’s disposition. However, everything happens for
Tony Stark and Hamlet also have the ability to self-destruct. During the third Iron Man Tony Stark instructs J.A.R.V.I.S. to take him to a rural area because he will not have the power to make it home. This then lands him with a ten-year-old boy and a power suit with no power. This shows his self-destructive behavior because he into issues with the Mandarin people leading to not having enough power to make it back. He also had to rely on the young boy to make it back to California and to his girlfriend (Black).
Making the suit is much easier than fighting Mandarin. Iron Man gets more skill by wearing the suit and learning how to use the suit. Iron Man’s greatest fear is the bits of shrapnel in his chest. Iron Man’s Abyss is when his suit is taken over. Iron Man’s revelation is when he develops a serious dependency of alcohol. At the beginning of his journey in the suit he is a bit cocky as well. “You’re not a man, you’re nothing- more than a manic. I’m not afraid of you, no politics here, just good old fashion revenge” (tony stark, google). Iron Man is wiser because he realized that you should never give up. His imbalance is fixed by making the suit and saving his life and the people around him. “I had my- eyes opened. I came to realize that i had more to offer this world than just making thing blow up” (tony stark, google). His injustice is fixed by making the suit. Iron Man’s gift is he gets his suit.
In the film Iron Man, Stark is betrayed when the threshold guardian, Obadiah Stane takes the electromagnet of Stark and uses it for his own suit. Stark’s ally and assistant Pepper Potts find out about this and they inform S.H.I.E.L.D. Pepper Potts and S.H.I.E.L.D go to Obadiah Stane’s workplace where they find a big gigantic suit which Obadiah wears. This resurgence of evil comes in the form of Obadiah wearing a suit which is seemingly more powerful and bigger than Iron Man. Stark fits in his old electromagnets and sets off to defeat Obadiah. Iron Man and Obadiah have a duel in which an innocent family is almost killed. There is always a doubt of success in a Hero’s journey and Iron Man who has almost drained all of his power seems unfit to fight Obadiah. Iron Man manages to beat Obadiah and returns successful thus defeating his final test. He is swarmed by media who think that Stark is Iron Man. Stark deceives the idea of lying and reveals to the media that he is Iron Man this being the Atonement. Stark returns to his life and lives life with the world knowing he is Iron Man- his return with the elixir. The completion of the resurrection is an important feature of the Hero and his life. The hero completes the final test and returns with the elixir which Stark has both done by defeating Obadiah and confirming his status as Iron Man. This pattern in Stark’s life confirms his status as a true model
Tony saw through the prejudice though, he loved one of the PR's and when the Jets found out, they were ashamed. Tony's love for Maria was so real, he didn't care what happened. He died.Prejudice plagues this world now and forever, as long as there is a difference in people there will discrimination and prejudice.
My sixteen week class in English 111. I was really nervous about this class. Because English has never been my strong point. This class has hard, but fun all at the same time. I learn a lot from this class. Meanwhile, the first day of class you handed a paper with a question on it. “The first thing I want to say to you who are students is that you must not think of being here to receive an education; instead, you will do much better to think of being here to claim one.” Even though putting my all in what I have learned, claiming my education with hard work because using the skills of the meal plan, as we write to different audiences and learning to be a Critically thinker as I start becoming a critically-Literate Citizenship.
Ever since I was little I remember playing games where I would fight the bad guy and win the girl in the end. This never seem to affect me or make me wonder what small effect it had on my thought process. In games such as Zelda, call of duty, assassin creed, gears of war, Mario, and even halo you play as a white heterosexual male. The idea of playing this way never seemed to phase me as a young child. As I grew up and became more aware of the difference of people and the need for other as well as myself a need to be able to connect and find one 's self in different place such as games, movies, and TV shows. I became aware of the one sided views that video games seem to have. Then I realized that it was seen as acceptable to only have the one sided displayed due to the lack of speaking out on the need for change.
After his parents dying, Batman, or Bruce Wayne, have promised himself to get rid of the evil in the city. He spent most of his childhood training his intellectual and physical abilities in order to defeat the villains. As a result, Batman is considered one of the most intelligent superheroes around. After his parents have died, he have acquired the family business, which was the Stark’s Industries. His intelligence have outperformed most of the superheroes. Do not believe something when you know it is not correct. Even though people may have good intentions most of the time there are those are out to harm you. Why would Teddy Barely meet his new partner on the ferry, I would think they would have met at the
In this “Digital Age” that we currently live in, it becomes very easy for an individual to become infatuated with the amount of social media outlets available on the internet. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat all revolve around the idea of showcasing one’s personal life for the sake of receiving positive feedback or attention by peers and strangers from the outside world. An episode of the Netflix sci-fi anthology series, “Black Mirror,” decides to tackle this topic in a surreal yet imaginative way. The episode in particular, “Nosedive,” investigates a hypothetical future or alternate universe where social media profiles and star ratings have become the norm. The plot revolves around a young lady named Lacie, who
