Rebellion In Animal Farm

Throughout time, many classic books have been adopted into movies and plays like Lord Of The Flies and Of Mice and Men. Animal Farm would absolutely be considered another of these classics. Throughout the novel, Animal Farm, the class structure of the farm is the most important theme, both before the rebellion and especially what happens after. George Orwell masterfully showed that society changes rulers rather frequently. The power changes from Jones, to Snowball, then to Napoleon. All the while, every animal in the lower classes felt the repercussions of the power change. Many animals were too proud to not stand up for themselves. The reason the struggle for dignity was the central idea of the story was because when all the animals lost their lives. “Without any further prompting they confessed that they had been secretly in touch with Snowball ever since his expulsion, that they had collaborated with him in destroying the windmill, and that they had entered into an agreement with him to hand over Animal Farm to Mr. Frederick. They added that Snowball had privately admitted to them that he had been Jones’s secret agent for years past. Boxer never spoken the words “I will work harder” or “Napoleon is always right” in the movie. These quotes were the main foundations of Boxers character. Without them, he seemed completely different. The sheep also never spoke “Four legs good, two legs better!” They spoke this when the pigs began acting like humans and walked on two feet. The power had changed. The animals had begun to turn into what they swore to never be. The sheep, unknowingly, were being used to help the pigs cause. Through power shifts, class changes and pride, Animal Farm greatly shows how conflict changes people. The characters all went through great changes through the book and movie like executions, changing personality and changing mottoes.
