Kevin ached. Perhaps it was the stiffness of his cot of a bed, or the nightmare that plagued him during the night. Satan killed him; he felt his ligaments tear painfully as his torso was stretched to unbearable limits, until it gave away and flopped to the ground. His scream tore through his throat and that alone roused him. Most nightmares cannot manifest, but knowing that doesn't prevent Kevin from feeling scared. His nightmare could come true. It has for many before him. He won’t allow it to bloom in fruition. The twenty-four year old stumbled into the shower, partly due to the abnormally high walls of the tub. It didn’t take long for the water to heat up, which he silently thanked the Maker. After a couple of minutes of drenching his pains …show more content…
It was visually stunning at its epicenter, shards of lighting shooting out in all directions from the power source down the eight hallways—like a spider. He didn’t have time to admire it fully for Jacob led them down the first entry to the left. And the stunning visuals disappeared as quickly as it came. Kevin peered into the glass of most rooms they passed, some being occupied in random states of injury with a nurse or doctor, rooms hardly lit. “We’re innovating,” Jacob explained. “There you are, darling! Come, come,” Kevin heard the shrill voice first which then was accompanied by the appearance of his mother, who beckoned to them sharply to enter one of the rooms. This one was fairly bigger; when it came to his mother, she always opted for the best and no less. “Michaela,” Kevin greeted, simply and he smiled at a nurse who stood erect with a small, friendly beam. Michaela wasn’t fazed by his lack of luster greeting, she continued. “Yes, much better,” She appraised his looks, tilting his chin from left to right and assessing his attire, “looking as a true tactician should,” The bronze-eye male felt completely wrong in his uniform. It was a customary black set that covered his arms and his legs fully. Strips of leather wrapped around his chest as a design, as well as around his right pants leg. What distinguished himself apart from the lesser ranks was the three stars that were etched expertly on his left …show more content…
Yes, Satan now wore a chrome band that looked about a half of an inch thick and very heavy. His soon-to-be partner crushed his head against one of the attackers’ nose, stunning him long enough to twirl him around and fling him against the other; the force sent them pummeling towards them, landing mere inches from their feet. Kevin met Satan’s now furious face. He pressed the button. “You,” He growled which sounded akin to a mastiff. Satan stalked towards them, menacingly. ‘He’s going to finish what he started during training!’ Kevin panicked, momentarily unable to disconnect himself from Satan. Incoming hollers sounded from behind them as more quadrons were dispatched to their area. He quickly took care of one, dropping a high kick on top of an incoming head, never straying in the direction of his gaze. Kevin didn’t want to think what Satan would do once—he hesitantly turned the dial, which was marked one to five. It didn’t do anything! It probably turned up Satan’s anger level, because he grabbed the lapel of yet another quadron and prepared to crush the
In the novel, Kevin is celebrating his birthday with Maxwell, Grim and Gram, and his mother. While he gets his dream gift, a laptop, he shows Grim how to play Online Chess. When Maxwell goes into the kitchen, however, Kevin has a seizure that later causes Freak’s sad death. Though this strikes the heart harshly because of Freak’s last words, the movie has more of a darker ending to Kevin. It’s Christmas after Kenneth Kane got put back in jail. They were celebrating Christmas together as they exchanged gifts (similar to the birthday) but instead of the seizure, Kevin dies that night due to his heart grew too big for his body.
Incidentally, as I write this paper I gaze upon a framed picture of a man. Over the right shoulder in the background is a blue field with silver stars behind his right shoulder. In juxtaposition behind his left shoulder is a field of red containing a pattern of gold and silver. His cover is stark white, precisely in the middle a gold eagle globe and anchor symbol. Determined blue eyes gaze back at me. His mouth set with resolve. His uniform, deep blue trimmed in red. Gold buttons run down the center. The leather neck fastened tight with two gold eagle globe and anchors on either side of the closure. A United States Marine stares back at me and I weep because some general, some officer one day may consider my son to be an acceptable loss.

The devil, in most cases, is purely an anecdotal figure; there simply for us to gauge the deeds of the good against. In this case, we see that the devil, easily represented by an escape convict, showing all that could go wrong with a person. The convict, however, goes through all theses motions showing almost no emotion; as if he has no humanly response to any stressful situation.
The world was quiet, all that could be heard was the roaring of blood running through veins and gurgle of air bubbles as they ere released. Light filtered through the water causing it to glimmer. The water encased her like a cocoon, coercing her to close her eyes and relax. Warmth surrounded her, the burning in her lungs building. She knew that dying this way would be easy, quiet. No one would find out about it for some time, but there was a voice nagging in the back of her head telling her to get up. Before she could make the decision as to whether to remain in the warm water or not, strong hands where under her arms, pulling her out of the water and onto the tiled floor of the bathroom.
"You like it, eh?" Her father bestowed on her his secret smile. In truth it was more of a smirk. Right lip raised slightly to expose an endearing dimple beneath his moustache, his cupid's bow lips pursed so it looked like he was pouting. "I forget you are fierce, like she was."
With a bad, red, blemished face, the Corporal is also very large and has broad shoulders. He wears an old jacket, dirty shirt, muddy boots, and a tiny hat. At the beginning, the Corporal is controlling towards the men, but that is because it is his job. He did not
The rooms looked unreal and every item was extravagant. I slowly took the air tight scene in, moving around myself just to try to get every glimpse of the magnificent room.
Without any warning Sargento yanked the card out of Shawns hand and looked at it. He chuckled like a demon, staring at Shawn with an evil smile. He showed him a card with the number six.
“Shower. Hot.” He said as he stepped into the glass-lined stall as the shower heads burst into life, filling the small room with billowing steam as it did. It was a tight fit, not really built for someone over six feet tall but he made do. Water was, of course, a concern. They were three months into what was supposed to be an eighteen-month mission. Now that the Jump Drive offered no hope of returning them home, water usage was a huge
A little boy with a toothless smile came running toward me. I stopped him and gave him my water slide tickets. He gave me a smile that said I had given him the world and ran away squealing after his daddy. I sighed again and thought, "Well, at least he's happy!" My throat tightened as I swallowed another sob. I quickened my pace to the changing room. I wanted to get away from this place as soon as possible. I opened the door and walked in. The smell of sulfur, soap, and shampoo assaulted my nostrils, while the sight of naked wom...
