Theme from Raymond’s run and All American Slurp Squeaky really wants a friend, but she has to take care of Raymond which is affecting her from getting friend’s. If you are Squeaky’s friend you have to deal with temper, and over competitiveness. The way she acts affects how others think of her which she doesn't know. The way she acts is horrible but she doesn’t realize this is why she has no friends. Still the reason she has no friends is she doesn't know that the way she is acting is blocking her from getting friends. Squeaky wants friends very much but there is obstacles in her way. Her over competitiveness, and her horrible temper is blocking her from getting friends because it's immature, mean and nobody likes to have mean people as friends. The
way she is acting will make other people think of her in a bad way.The reason why over competitiveness is a problem is she doesn’t want to lose anything so if you're her friend just stick with loosing all the time, and if you don’t lose all the time her temper will start. The reason why temper is last and the most important thing of all is because her temper is so bad that her temper is even worse than just someone raging at you. One temper problem is if you win against her she will rage at you because she is a sore loser, and if don’t let her win she will beat you up so much you’ll be knocked out and stranded knocked out. That’s how much of a sore loser she is and if she keeps acting this way nobody's gonna want to hang out with her especially when she will beat you up, strand you with no directions and with nobody to drive you back. What would you do if you got stranded by Squeaky? Lin really want’s to be a normal American girl but she needs to fix her culture. The way she can fix part of it is to not slurp her food because it’s rude in the USA. The way it’s rude is because it´s loud, obnoxious, and annoying. Another way to be an american is that she wears skirts not jeans and if she wants to be a normal american girl she will need to wear jeans, and wearing jeans will make her seem like a American girl not a chinese girl. The first way she is struggling is because only little girls wear skirts and normal girls wear jeans and she wants to be an normal american girl. The second way she is struggling to fit in is her family including her doesn't know about the americans culture at all.For example in the book all american slurp when the family was gonna eat, they sat down at the table but what they didn't know was that it was a buffet. Then when the person told them it was a buffet everyone already noticed, and they were so embarrassed. Lin has to learn the American culture to be a normal American girl. The way Lin and Squeaky relate is that the both of the themes of the story holds them back from what they want. The way they relate again is that they both have trouble making friends and they both had to come across something to make them. Both themes might not be the same but Lin and Squeaky they both want the same thing and they both trying Lin succeeds because she fixed her problem and Squeaky just kept being rude. So every time Lin tries to make friends she will learn what she did wrong and fix it. Every time Squeaky tries to make friends she just is mean to them and she doesn’t make friends she loses them. So what this means is that squeaky will never have friends and Lin will have many friends to have fun with.
