Conio-caca Graphics Imaging Corporation ordered my team to perform a systems installation for a small publishing company in North Miami. The installation was to be performed according to company standards; first the hardware which included an image setter and then a “Mac Server” running OS 10 (Operating system version 10) followed by installing specialized software to interface with a desktop publishing application.
Upon completing the installation of the software and hardware, the team and the customer found the software was not functioning which effectively meant the customer at that point was, “Out of Business”.

In the beginning of March the newly joint corporation, McKesson HBOC started a negotiating process with Oracle Corporation. Unfortunately for McKesson, the negotiations ended without a contract. On April 1 Bergonzi let Hawkins know that he found an offer that could be a good deal. The agreement would require McKessonHBOC to sell $20 million worth of software to Data General, along with a license and a right to return any inventory that was not sold during the period of 6 months. The corporation would also have to help Data General find customers for the product. In return, they could buy $25 millions worth of computer hardware. The contract was signed on April 5 the same year. The senior management thought that backdating the sales and purchases would raise the company's revenues up to the desired levels. In order to cover their actions, the company created a false delivery receipt that showed the date of the delivery as March 31, 1999, while in reality the product was delivered in April. Both, the information about the $25 Million purchase of hardware from Data General as well as the return agreement concealed from the public.

My primary style is that of Self-Actualization. Self-Actualized individuals seek to always become all that we can with the talents and knowledge we have. We tend to be creative and like to live in the moment. We bring almost a refreshing perspective to most situations and have a continuous intrinsic drive for self-development. I see this style manifested in myself on a daily basis by my strong desire to always meet new challenges. My motivation for success and coming up with new ideas is completely internal, and when the outlook seems grim to others, I am always the one that sees a positive outcome ahead, through the use of a plan. Although, I am currently a stay at home mom, I would imagine that as a manager that worked outside the home, I would share the same values as I do at home. I am a planner and a “lister”, because I feel that in order to tackle a task, the plan of attack must be clearly laid out and readily available to refer to. My backup thinking style is the Achievement style. I think this is very obvious because I seek to find jobs or take on challenges that will allow me to feel a sense of achievement. I have been known to quit jobs that paid a decent amount, but weren’t allowing me to achieve anything. On several jobs before, I’ve ended each day with a feeling of unimportance or frustration because I felt like the majority of my day had been spent working a job that wasn’t fulfilling or impacting the world. I think the fact that I decided to leave the corporate working world to be a stay at home mom, attests to the fact that I want to feel a sense of achievement in the personal raising of my child. I want to set up a standard for my child to ultimately be able to be a self-actualized person as he grows older.

Problem Statement: In 2003, Zara's CIO must decide whether to upgrade the retailer's IT infrastructure and capabilities. At the time of the case, the company relies on an out-of-date operating system for its store terminals and has no full-time network in place across stores. Despite these limitations, however, Zara's parent company, Inditex, has built an extraordinarily well-performing value chain that is by far the most responsive in the industry. It involves understanding individuals’ traits such as withdrawal and willpower and how various parts of an individual link together to form personality. Personality expresses itself from within an individual and is comparatively regular throughout in an individual’s life. Different people have different personalities dependent on factors such as environment and genetic composition. Our personality is dependent on the success or failure of our development in the eight stages of life. This is proposed by Erik Erikson. Success in the development stages lead to virtues while the failure leads to malignancies.
