Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) Versus Rational Emotive Behavioral Theory (REBT)
Psychologists employ an array of methods when handling clients with mental disabilities. The methodologies used vary according to the problem under study. Besides, psychiatrists ensure that they incorporate strategies that aim at both healing the patient and ensuring longevity of their mental stability. Among the many approaches available, psychologists use the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and the rational emotive behavior therapy when handling clients with mental instabilities.

REBT aims at identifying the root cause that leads to decision making, and advises on an in depth critical evaluation of situations before deriving a decision (Şoflău, & David, 2017). It teaches individuals on effective assertiveness and the ability to solve problems. Besides, Tulbure et al. (2015) state that the CBT approach aims at bolstering a client’s mental stability by reinforcing their positive qualities.
