Senator Paul is not a career politician and did not hold any political position prior to his U.S. Senate appointment. He is Caucasian and a Presbyterian Christian. District Characteristics: Senator Paul serves the state of Kentucky where the outskirts are primarily rural. He relates to the Caucasian ethnicity of the majority of Kentucky’s constituents but was raised in a household that garnered a substantially greater income than Kentucky’s median. His father, Ron Paul, worked as an eye doctor, which inspired Senator Rand Paul to also pursue ophthalmology. As a U.S. House of Representatives member, Ron Paul greatly influenced Senator Paul’s social background. He exposed Senator Paul to politics at a young age instilling in his son an understanding of the political system and American values. Although Senator Paul’s social background differs from the majority of Kentucky constituents, he appeals to those who are below the poverty line by performing pro bono eye surgeries for those who cannot afford it. Since 2010, when Rand Paul earned a seat in the Senate, his social status with respect to how he relates to his constituents has not significantly

Ted Cruz is a fairly strong contender for the Republican nomination at the moment and has some definite strengths. His first strength is his fervent support of and commitment to upholding the Constitution, especially the First and Second Amendment. He worked as a lawyer prior to becoming a senator and is well versed in constitutional law. Another strength is his strong conservative ideals, which makes him popular among the Tea Party and evangelical voters, especially when it comes to issues such as abortion, marriage equality, gun rights, immigration and more. In addition, he has the ability to raise a lot of money. In the second quarter of 2015 alone, he had raised over $10 million, with no signs of slowing down. He has a strong campaign team
In regard to race, he says the he was “BORN IN SWITZERLAND__NEVER EXPERIENCED RACE” (PG). However, since Paul is not really the son of Sydney Poitier, who he claims to be his father, this imagination shows how he is trying to deny being black. However, at the end of the book, he finally admits a part of himself when he asks Louisa to bring him to jail, saying “if they don’t know you’re special, they kill you” (58). When Louisa tries to reassure Paul that this isn’t the case, Paul goes against all of his previous attempts to deny that he’s black, and says the elephant in the room: “Ms. Louisa Kittredge, I am black (58). Similarly, He aspires to be like the Kittredges, even going to museums, shown in his dream of living with them, being their son, and following in Flan’s footsteps. Expressing his own values by emphasis on imagination. Paul is the perfect example of creating an image for himself. He plays the extreme of what the Upper East Siders are doing in their everyday lives. He takes other peoples experiences, like the upper class does with their anecdotes, and uses them to make him come off as someone he’s not. He dresses up his appearance and does not understand or accept who he is on the inside.
“Can you imagine what a mess a world would be without names? (website)Names are very important to a person and their individuality. Ayn Rand’s novel “Anthem” is a book in which the people written about do not have names. The importance of having your own individual names is huge. A name can have meaning given to it, like how the name Sue means lily. Most parents when giving you your name have a meaning behind it and put much thought into what their future child should be named. Names can give you a part of your identity.
Ayn Rand, a contentious woman, the new favorite author to multiple people’s list. People who have read her magnificent book, Anthem, understand how exquisite and meaningful her words are. Books like Anthem are worth reading because it gives the reader more knowledge about controversial topics and it takes the reader to experience new places and new adventures. Equality, the main character, is a symbol. He represents many people today, living in countries like his society. Equality has to find his true identity first before helping the others. People are not allowed to believe in individualism, they should not have a identity of their own. Each person has a monotone routine to follow every single day of their lives. Each step a person takes
The government’s authority over several aspects of society displays its corruption and causes more people to become conformists who lack egotism in Ayn Rand’s novel Anthem. The government chooses the occupations of all of the citizens. It is the Council of Vocation’s position to decide everyone’s job, thus suppressing the right of the people to freedom of choice. The teachers, who had been appointed by the Councils, inform the students to “Dare not choose in your minds the work you would like to do when you leave the Home of the Students. You shall do that which the Council of Vocations shall prescribe for you. For the Council of Vocations knows in its great wisdom where you are needed by your brother men, better than you can know it in your unworthy little
Ayn Rand's Anthem shows us her view of our world united under what seems to be communist rule. For example their view of right and wrong; which Anthem portrays is a system of very strict rules which mainly make sure that everyone is involved in a collective role within the society in this system no one is considered an individual or that they can even think as an individual.

“We haven’t had a partisan revolution in Mississippi. We’ve had an evolution. In retrospect, it seems like a natural progression, though it didn’t feel like it along the way.” Although Haley Barbour made the previous comments about the rise of the Republican Party in Mississippi, Nash and Taggart point out that his comments can be generalized to every aspect of the Mississippi politics. I agree that over the decades Mississippi politics has evolved, through a slow natural progression, to become what it is today. While the changes have been vast, I agree with Nash and Taggart’s point that producing a substantive change to the future of Mississippi politics will be a battle that is hard fought and one that is led by leaders who are not afraid to push the issue.
“Dylan Klebold was born to a middle class family on September 11th 1981” (Dylan Klebold Biography, 2016). “His father
This basis for this research requires further explanation. The rationale for excluding Senators from this study and for narrowing the focus exclusively to black House members reflects the difference in representation between House members and Senators. By studying House districts comprised of a smaller electorate, one can draw important conclusions about the constituency characteristics and the subsequent...
Obama emotionally influences the nation to move forward from the issues of race that is hindering America. Without dwelling on his family tree, Obama reminds us that his father was black and his mother white, that he came from Kenya, but she came from Kansas: “I am married to a black American who carries within her the blood of slave and slave owners — an inheritance we pass on to our two precious daughters. I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible.
The first case is when he volunteered for a small charity in Haiti called Eye Care Haiti. Paul determined that he was going to use his time in Haiti to learn everything he could about illness and disease afflicting the poor there. Here he is putting others first by volunteering at a clinic to help poor people (when he could have easily got a paying job after college), and later figuring out that he wanted to learn ways to help the deprived areas. Next, he put others first by going back and forth to Haiti to continue to help a village named Cange, although he had just entered medical school at Harvard University. Even after being accepted into one of the most prestige’s universities in the world, Paul never lost sight of his desire to help others in the areas where he first began his
As we would expect from a democrat candidate, Michael Dukakis wants to put a stress on the importance of the social issue. He feels the american dreams slightly slipping from the reach of the average citizen. In the land of the Free, and country of all opportunity, every resident should be granted a right to a decent salary, an affordable college education. He is in favor of bringing the best out of every american, and this would call for some changes. He praises equality no matter the race, sex, or religion. He calls for an end of the yuppie era.
