Looking into the future is a gift that many of us wish we had. Some of us are curious to see what it holds, others will like to see it in order to change how things might be in the present. It’s challenging to say the least, to ask yourself how you will react in the future, especially as parent, yet there’s several actions that can be taken in order to a child to grow into adulthood in the healthy way. As a mother raising a 5-7 year there will be various strategies and activities that I will take in order to promote my child’s executive functions skills and intrinsic motivation for learning.

Whichever, it would be up to him. Playing a musical instrument well requires focus. Sustained attention is need to be build up over time in order to have this focus. Children are not built to pratices on hours on end but only if a habit is form then can there be on later on.
Hopefully as he keeps doing the activities he likes he will be rewarded, however as mother letting my child know that I’m also proud of him should be a priority. This can be turn to letting the kid know that he should be proud of what he is doing himself. And that if he is not proud that he shouldn’t continue. Now, it’s a fine line between giving up because its hard, than letting go because it’s not valuable. Therefore persistence need to be in the picture in order to truly know which one it is.
Now that he has activities other than school, planning for and prioritizing what is most important will fallow. Our lives only get busier, and harder to manage. Children live in a world designed for them by adults. The two cultures, child’s culture and adult’s culture exist side-by-side. As the children eventually mature into the adult world, they grow up learning the structure of what is expected of them. As children challenge the authority or expectations, they are battling the construction that was predetermined by the adults. Children have to live in a world where they are living in the structure, as well as being active agents. The two combating ideas are one component that makes growing up a difficult learning experience.
Cognitive development in retrospect is the building of thought processing, decision making, problem solving, and critical thinking skills (Merriam-Webster). By engaging in imaginative play, children are forced to imagine make-believe scenarios and maintain a single roll captivating that roles thoughts and actions. Such situations make children express both positive and negative feelings as well as work through problem solving scenarios where they may be led to critically think their actions and what each outcome could lead to.
