Does the name “raining blood” scare you? Well, never fear, because it is not a Stephen King movie; in fact, it is a very cool science experiment, including the different measurements of density, or how fast, slow, or accurately two liquids mix. Do you want to engage in a fun and very simple project? If you said yes to my question then hold tight, listen carefully, and follow these simple steps! In this project, it is all about appearance and curiosity (and science). The complete model is supposed to show a jar of liquid, with “blood” floating at the tip, or rim, the very top of, the jar. This blood is supposed to drip slowly to the bottom of the jar. The water looks a bit murky, which adds to the disturbing yet intriguing effect of the …show more content…
You will need a clear jug, but not too small, and a fork. Grab four different food colors. This model with also take water and any oil (except dark or black, nothing hazy or cloudy.) If they are safe to eat, they are safe to use. First, fill your clear jar with water, preferably cool. Use your small bowl and add oil. Next, add your four colors to your bowl of oil. Mix thoroughly with your fork. The liquids need to make a deep red color, or close to red. Make the colors and oil are settled. Once everything is mixed, carefully pour the contents of the bowl into the jar of water. It make take a few seconds, but the colored oil with float to the top. Give it a little more time; this shouldn’t take a while. If you pay attention, the oil will start to slowly drip from the rim to the bottom of the jar, just like blood. At the end of my display, we have watched different molecules and properties of densities in action. The raining blood experiment, although sounding a bit intimidating, is very simple and entertaining to witness, if the steps are done correctly. My suggestion is for you to try everything that may seem intimidating or maybe even ridiculous; you may learn something new and
In order to reconstruct a crime scene, analysis must classify the bloodstain spatter, and there are many way to classify blood stain patterns: bloodstain spatter by velocity and bloodstain through taxonomy. In the classification of the bloodstain spatter by velocity, there are three basic categories of stain groups...
A draft is a form of a social obligations that is just not an ordinary obligation, but it is a legal one. The government is behind it which means that the government has the right to draft you into war whether you agree with it or not. In The Things They Carried, Tim O’Brien was trapped between the sword and the wall on the decision of going to war or escaping the draft by going to Canada. He had to choose whether or not to risk his life for the sake of his country and family. Throughout the chapter entitled “On the Rainy River” Tim O’Brien tells us the readers how hard was for him to make a decision of whether to go or not. Tim O’Brien puts us on his position by asking rhetorical questions such as “What would you do?” “Would

The blood transfusions started out as an already dangerous procedure during its early stages. Not only were the obvious factors of cleanliness and bacteria control an issue, but the question of blood types had yet to be raised. Despite this, some early blood transfusions were successful, such as Jean-Baptiste Denys’s transfusion of lamb’s blood into an adolescent suffering from fever in 1667. Nonetheless, many early transfusions were fatal, thus research on this procedure was halted until the nineteenth century. This research began to provide tangible hope in 1901 when the first blood group (ABO) was identified by Karl Landsteiner. This discovery explained the deaths of patients who had received an incompatible blood type. Further triumphs in medicine were achieved, such as the use of sodium citrate as an anti-coagulant and increased measures to create sanitarAs these improvements surfaced over the course of the first half of the twentieth century, the general population of the 1960s saw blood transf...

Given these two circumstances, a conclusion can be made what type of blood was found at the scene in the park. This experiment is not instantaneous for results, but I believe it is a quick way to determine what species the unknown sample of blood is from. Different experiments could follow up to get a more accurate account determining what species the antibodies came from. All in all, the Outchterlony Double Diffusion experiment is a quick easy way to determine the species from the blood found at the scene in the
Once upon a time high above the earth, fluffy white clouds drifted through the atmosphere. In the clouds lived a family Droplet of water, round and content with life. For as long as I could remember, I spent my days lying on my back, relaxing and soaking up the sun's warm rays. One day, I took my usual place in the sun but the light didn't seem to be as bright. In fact, as the day went on, it grew darker and darker, loud claps of thunder shook the cloud, and the Droplet felt as if he were getting so heavy he could hardly move. This is called precipitation.
