Racism becomes a driving force towards slavery. There are a lot of people that suffer because of the differences they have. Discrimination comes after racism but the worst part of this is not having enough courage to defend oneself against it. An independent mindset is needed in order to eliminate it foremost we should understand one culture because culture is what shapes our mind.
In Rizal’s novel entitled Noli Me Tangere, he stressed the issue regarding the discrimination here in the Philippines. Majority of the Spaniard friars discriminated the Filipinos whom they call as Indio’s. They portray Filipino’s as illiterate, stupid and easy to manipulate. Filipino’s being afraid of the friars tend to follow whatever the friars told them to do. They were able to manipulate Filipino’s on their hand and to do things that are sinful. The Filipinos have no any choice but to be enslaved by those friars.
Racial prejudice is still common specially against our Overseas Filipinos Workers who sacrificed to work abroad apart from their families to lessen the suffering that they experienced in our country. Some foreigners discriminate them specially when they have noticed that their race is Filipino. This tragic event also happened when the conflict between China and Philippines arouse. Some Chinese nationals betray our OFW’s by refusing to give their salaries and not allowing them to take enough rest during their work. Still, some Chinese nationals also deny and renounce to accept Filipinos as an overseas worker in their country. For them, Filipinos are weak, faint, unsubstantial and frail. They treat us as poor and slave because for them, our country only depends to China in terms of its trade activities specifically most of our imports cam...

Although we are still a college student, we strongly believe that we can be an asset to prove in the world that we are not weak and frail. We can prove to them that they are wrong of their negative accusations against us and we are brave enough to raise our own race. Time will came that racial discrimination against us will fade away and the Filipinos will be hailed around the whole universe.
Real changes will start from us. So, what we are waiting for, it’s time to wake up and shout to the world that Filipinos are great and deserve of being a God creations!

Their voices need to be heard on what they believe is right and just. Nobody should be abused and treated cruelly by anybody. This issue needs attention not only by the foreign country’s Government but the Philippine Government as well. No overseas workers should fear addressing these issues because it violates human rights such as the right to freedom. They need to man up and let their voices be heard. The Philippine Government needs to take immediate action regarding this concern. They need to listen to their people’s plea. Expanding and beautifying main roads is not the answer. The answer is to stop sending workers overseas and to create more local jobs that can be beneficial to all and will stop locals pursue working overseas.
It is so difficult to stand out in everywhere. “There must be other Latinas like me. But I haven 't met any.” (Barrientos, Tanya p.65). Barrientos uses this article to share her struggles. She believes that if we face our problems such as race problem, we can overcome racial stereotypes. Author’s writings like a mental support encourage people to stand out. And they could influence people who have Latino community in the United States. If people feel that they are alone with their racial struggles, they should face that by themselves, but this article make them realize that they should speak up and support each other, sticking together in order to face and solve problems. Racism is a major issue that has affected the United States since its discovery. Racism is the hatred by a person of one race pointed at a person of another race. The United States has grown up to improve as a whole but this process is a long way away from completion. Some citizens still believe that African-Americans are inferior to Caucasians and that they should be slaves. During everywhere I go from shopping or in campus, Thai people are afraid of them or don’t want to sit with them or be friends with them because, Thai people think that Indian people is from another world and not part from the Thai sociality, some Thai people are being prejudiced and racist to them by moving far away from Indians due to the different skin colors and closing their nose because of their body smell. During one day I was on the way home wanna get a cab and saw and long line but the first two people that was in the front was an Thai and a Indian person, the cab arrive and the Thai women saw the cab was just sat by an Indian and quickly call for another cab, the one at the back of that Thai women an Indian guy sat into the cab instead. This could easily tell you that the Thai people were trying to move away from the Indian people.
