Although the Vietnam War has ended for many years, people are still talking about it and using the war to achieve certain political purpose. Some people say it is a wrong war, some people say that this war is not only a moral war, but also the US military won every single battle. The impact of the Vietnam War on the twentieth century and today is clearly obvious. The war last more than 10 years, experienced of President Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford. A large number of American youth was sent to Vietnam and ten thousands of them were buried in the foreign land. Even many people still believe racism was eliminated after “The Emancipation Proclamation” promulgated by Abraham Lincoln. However, African American were never treated the same as white until Vietnam War. The KKK party killed them and hung in public; they made less money than white even the work were exactly the same. Black were always the first to be fired and last to be hired. GI after Second World War earned nothing from the government. And now they were the first to send to Vietnam to fight for the country treat them unequally. They would stand up and against the war and win their right. US troops were helping the South Vietnamese to against imperialistic. The US army was just saving the people in South Vietnam and brought democracy and freedom to them. Government should increase budget to the US military. It was not to invade the north so the whole Communist world would get involved. Therefore, the government set so many limits to the soldiers in the front line. The US military is fighting in the extremely harsh environment and all kinds of political constraints under moral constraints of war. The enemy of the United States was not only North Vietnam, but also China, the Soviet Union, Sihanouk, the West "left", the United States domestic anti-war front and economic recession, Saigon containment and so on. The American soldiers of the war were supposed to be national heroes, but they earned nothing after the victories, and lost their lives when they fail. They had to bear the physical and psychological trauma of war, and they had to endure the hostility of the people and the government.
