To conduct this study, the best approach to do so would be by a combination of quantitation and qualitative method, in which the study will focuses on how commonly do racial group and which generation such as; the baby boomer and millennial uses the most stereotypes. I would choose to use survey research as well as for observation, in order to study what age group uses these racial stereotypes. By using the survey research, it will help reveal whether or not a certain generation is the reason why racial stereotypes is a big issue in today’s society, by the response they provided in the survey. This will have the main focus on age and ethnic group. I would randomly select individuals in the age group of 18-34, which are the millennial generation, as for then randomly selecting individuals in the age group of 53-71, which are the baby boomer generation. Due, to the sampling being random sampling, the study will not be focusing on one ethnic group but multiple. For the millennial generation, the random sampling method would randomly select different local high school, in which I can have student participant in this study, as well as for moving to higher education and/or visits different hang out areas that millennials generation seem to be frequently visit. However, before asking individuals for their participant, I would first do an observation. While doing the observation I will be taking records on their interaction with one another, as well as different phrases that are being told. I would like to have a number of four thousand survey responses when conducting the survey to the millennial age group and baby boomer generation. Moreover, for the baby boomer generation will also have an observation in different company area or local place that have different jobs nearby, this will allow the observation have a great amount of diversity as well. When doing this observation, I will be asking these employees if they would participant in a study I am conducting and ask to take the survey. In result of this sample, this will help me have an understanding of who is causing these racial stereotypes
As a group, we believe that popular culture does in fact perpetuates stereotypes. Television is a main source of information of popular culture. Television has forever changed how humans have interacted with another and introduce a world of diversity and knowledge. But with this profit, television has also harbored negative aspects. As a group, we studied how racial stereotypes are portrayed in television. In the history of television, different racial and ethnic groups have been widely underrepresented and television itself has been overwhelming represented by white figures. And when racial groups are presented on TV, the characters are often played in limited roles based on stereotypes. A stereotype isn’t necessarily untrue, but it is an assumption based on an incomplete and complex ideas that are oversimplified into something that isn’t what it meant to be, and it’s usually negative. For example, African Americans are often depicted as violent or involved in some kind of criminal activity. Throughout the years, racial stereotypes have played a major role in society. Even today, one combines racial stereotypes and prejudice thoughts before one even says a word to the person. Just seeing an African- American man while in a parking lot and pulling out ones phone, can be a simple example of modern-day racial stereotypes.
Each of us then interviewed one to two students at our school and then put the data into a Google form. Afterwards, we looked at the summary of the data in charts and got a better idea of who we interviewed, the things they were associated with, and where they felt the most affected by stereotype threats. Then we sorted the summary data chart by race and gender to see similarities or differences in each race or gender group. When my class then did some research about stereotypes by interviewing students at our school, we ended up interviewing 165 students. 79% of the people were in 9th grade, the rest made up evenly of 10th, 11th, and 12th graders....

These stereotypes result in controversial issues, which in turn, affect adults and children. The TV shows, internet, and social media are sources that expose children, as well as the adults, to stereotypes. Examples of those stereotypes are religion, sexism, and race. As a graduate student at the University of Chicago, Brent Staples never realized before the strong stereotype against black men has he had the one late night walk. When on a late night walk, Staples, a young black man realized the stereotype that most Americans have of the young black male. As a young white woman was walking that night in front of him and caught a glimpse of Staples approaching her. She became uncomfortable in the situation and responded by running away from Staples. Not until this incident did Staples realize the negative impact of the young black male on other people, often resulting in being intimidated. He was not seen as a young bright adult with a prominent future, rather he was seen as a mugger, or worse yet a rapist. He did not ask to be seen as a misconception of what others may believe him to be. People were often quick to judge him based solely on the color of his skin and nothing else. He was a twenty-two year old black male that stood over six feet with a broad frame. Brent had experienced many instances where people would see him as a person he is not. For example, one time he walked into a jewelry store and instantly the cashier assumed he was about to rob the store. She replied to her false premonition by going to the back of the store and coming out with a Doberman Pincher to chase him away. It is instances like this that can scar an individual and make him doubt oneself, but Brent did not and he found that he could fix the situation. His solution to the problem was whistling. He found that when he would whistle people saw him as less threatening, even thought most low-lifes did not know Beethoven or Mozart. In many circles of the world, various groups of people distinguish themselves from one another through religion, language, culture, and sometimes gender. People also develop stereotypes about a particular group of people in order to identify them. However, most of the time, these stereotypes hold true for only some members of a group. Sometimes, these stereotypes are just plain misconceptions that do not even apply to the group they claim to be. Stereotypes are placed on people because it is a way to easily identify what type of person or ethnicity an individual is.
Stereotypes can be defined as sweeping generalizations about members of a certain race, religion, gender, nationality, or other group. They are made everyday in almost every society. We develop stereotypes when we are unable or unwilling to obtain all the information we would need to make fair judgments about people or situations. By stereotyping, we assume that a person or group has certain characteristics. Quite often, we develop these ideas about people who are members of groups with which we have not had firsthand contact. Stereotyping usually leads to unfair results, such as discrimination, racial profiling, and unnecessary violence, all behaviors which need to be stopped.

For decades now, popular culture has been tainted by the perpetual use of racial stereotypes that come to us through music, television, and film. These reactionary stereotypes are often unaddressed and often permeate the minds of those too young to understand what a stereotype is. Therefore the effects of these conventionalized ideas continue to prevail throughout our society as they are repeatedly swept under the rug. However, although seemingly less common, there are also forms of media with goals of bringing attention to toxic stereotypes while still entertaining their audiences. African-Americans, Arabs, and Latin@’s are three of the most prevalent minority groups represented in the media and by analyzing the films Aladdin, Django Unchained, and the television show Devious Maids, one can become much more aware of the racial stereotypes that they are calling attention to.
Stereotyping has been a huge problem in society for many decades. Everyone does it whether it is race, looks, and language or body types. If society did less stereotyping our society might be a little more complicated and more peaceful. If you look different, dress different, or act different out of the norm you are being judge or stereotype. I was always taught do not judge a book by its cover. People often prejudge people or objects with grouping them into the categories or styles they know, and then treat the types with their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without truly understand what and why.
