In 1900, Pyrmont was an important port and industrial area, with a population of almost 30 000 people. There was a wide range of industries and services present including wharves, dockyards, warehouses, abattoirs, wool stores, railway yards and even an incinerator for the disposal of Sydney’s waste. It was deemed a working-class suburb with a predominantly Irish/Catholic population. As the income for Pyrmont was only modest, semi-detached cottages were the most common type of housing present.
Brimbank Park (coordinates 37.7340° S, 144.8370° E) is located in the Maribyrnong Valley (hollowed by the Maribyrnong River), near the Melbourne suburb Keilor. It is intersected by the Maribynong River and the M80 highway, which reveals the adaptive nature of the natural environment in a growing urban area. (Parks Victoria, 2013)

This park is an ideal setting, because the story is based on football, which is mostly played in a park like setting. Not only this, but the genre of the novel is realistic fiction, and parks are not only found in books, but in reality as well. Coppo Park is described as a large area with many people walking around and playing. I would consider visiting this place, because it is similar to parks in my town, which I always enjoy visiting. In addition to this, I would consider visiting Coppo Park, because it seems as though it is a serene setting, which is different than the usual hustle of one’s daily life. Also making Coppo Park an ideal setting. The author describes, “Coppo Park was one of their favorite places in town... A bench was positioned perfectly in the morning sun, so that even in the middle of winter you could sit without a coat on and remember what summer felt like” (Lupica 29). Coppo Park is an ideal setting, because it is realistic. Something is considered “ideal” when it satisfies what one thinks is perfect. A park is found in almost every town, but Coppo Park according to Nate and Abby is different than the rest. With its perfectly positioned bench and serene setting, Coppo Park is definitely an ideal
Sydney is situated in zone of the subtropical oceanic climate which characterized by moderately hot summers and moderately warm winter. This climate conditions very favorable for people, animals and plants habitation. How we can see in the table "Mean Daily Temperatures", temperature does not fall below zero. It is congenially for agriculture, especially sowing corn. More than half of the arable land is occupied by wheat. In addition, people grow citrus, pineapples, mangoes and sugarcane.
However they weren't the only ones to benefit greatly. The centerpiece of the games and the location where the opening and closing ceremonies were held was a new $209 million stadium, now called Turner Field and now home to the city's finest baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.

Urban renewal has changed the social structure of Pyrmont significantly. In the early 20th century, there was a major decline in Pyrmont’s population and economic activity because of the urban decay and decentralisation that occurred across Sydney. This saw a spreading of activities, specifically manufacturing and industrial activities from out of inner-city areas into Sydney’s outer suburbs. Urban renewal was the key factor in restoring Pyrmont’s population. Pyrmont changed massively through the urban dynamic of urban renewal. These changes included 33 hectares of open space for the public, a mix of innovative housing and a vast range of community facilities. Being close to the city, Pyrmont has attracted mainly young, wealthy couples or otherwise known as DINKS (Double Income No Kids). 62.7% of Pyrmont’s residents are aged between 25 and 54. This is an increase of 6% from 1991. The young wealthy couples that live in Pyrmont usually earn about 37% more than the average people living in metropolitan areas, with an average income of $905 per week (2006). Nowadays, Pyrmont’s social structure differs considerably with Pyrmont’s early 20th century social structure. This is a direct effect of the urban renewal that occurred throughout the suburb. Pyrmont’s social component changed with its urban
More so, the current status of these historical homes are primarily residential in the 21st century, which defines the relative importance of a historical housing that still exists in the city. Much like the real estate ambitions of Gilbert and Wells in 1702, it is still apparent that the Elfreths Alley Association provides a context in which these homes can be preserved as a National Historic Landmark for modern residents that currently own these homes: “[These owners] did own houses and invested their profits by purchasing or erecting houses to be rented by younger or less prosperous craftsmen and shopkeepers” (Moss & Crane, 1998, 28). In the 20th and 21st centuries, the evolution of this style of home purchasing was developed by the Elfreths Alley Association, which then allowed certain homes to be sold to qualified individuals that were willing to preserve the colonial and historical aspects of the area. These are important aspects of real estate dimension of home ownership in Elfreth's Alley, which makes it one of the more exclusive neighborhoods in a historic district of the city. Although some of the homes are privately owned, the city provides a great deal of financial and economic support to preserve this area for tourism on the dock
When the first fleet first arrived at Botany bay they soon experienced difficulties as shown in the movie, the waters were too shallow to use as a harbour for any of the boats and the soil was sandy and was unsuitable for planting any crops and there wasn’t any direct access to fresh and clean water, Captain cook recorded about another sight a few kilometres away from Botany bay which he named Port Arthur a few years prior to the arrival of the first fleet in Botany

The Lavender Bay Parklands feature several small parks including, Wendy’s Secret Garden Watt Park, the Lavender Bay Foreshore, Clark Park, and Quibaree Park. Watt Park has a nautical-themed playground for the kids and is more secluded than the other parks. Quibaree Park is on the harbour side of the railway, features a small boat ramp and is especially picturesque, which is why people take many pictures from this park. Wendy’s Secret Garden that has a sad story behind it, but is one of the most artistic, unique, and interesting of all the parks.
Families and couples get to experience an inner-city feeling, by only being approximately 4 kilometers from the Brisbane central business district (CBD). The benefits of being only 4 kilometers from the city are that the people around you have a vibe, there are magnificent foods from around the globe and amazing shopping centers that are just around the corner. As the sun sets and the moon rises, Camp Hill commands fine views of the CBD. The local greenery makes the air fresh and clean, perfect for younger children. Camp Hill is situated on top of a hill and neighbors Carina, Coorparoo and Norman Park. There is a wide range of both markets and shopping centers, which cater for everyone. As a Camp Hill resident, I view this inner-city suburb as something which is very rare, because there are both good dining experiences as well as new and old housing, giving families and couples a choice. As CityHobo reads “it's a quiet and safe neighborhood with happy children, good views and hilly landscapes.” This statement clearly shows Camp Hill for what it is and represents. Just imagine living in a suburb, not just any suburb one that makes your house, a
As can be seen from the map (Figure 5), the Maribyrnong Rivers begins when the two major tributaries- Deep Creek and Jackson’s creek merge together, and then the river go through the Brimbank Park, downstream flows through suburban Melbourne before joining the Yarra River estuary on its way out to Port Phillip Bay. Therefore, because of the hydrology, there is erosion can be found in the Site 2 area.
