Pursuing My Personal Goals

Five years ago, if someone had told me I would be in the United States, living my dreams I would not have believed them. I was born and raised on the small island of Jamaica along with my two sisters and an older brother. In our single parent home, everyday my mother reminded us of the value a good education. With her encouragement and my determination and tenacity I excelled academically in both middle and high school. I was able to make her proud once again by graduation Summa Cum Laude from the County College of Morris, Randolph NJ in 2016. Five years ago, on the small Island of Jamaica my dream was to earn my Undergraduate Degree in Business with highest academic recognition to make my family proud. Achieving the highest academic recognition does not only mean achieving the highest grade, it also means that I apply what I learn to my daily life and to overcome challenges. Prior to Rutgers I have had to seek employment to sustain my academic ambitions, however, I am now able to part take in the many activities the University offers.
