In order to answer the question of how this scholarship will make a difference in pursuing my education, I must explain why my education matters to me. Looking at background around allows me to see how getting my education and maintaining a hard work ethic is vital to my character. These values were passed onto me by my parents who helped me get this far in my life and will give me the energy for my future endeavors. By leaving from their home in India to the United States when I was one year old my parents sought to give their children, my two older sisters and I, opportunities that were quintessential to the character of the United States. Much like a lot of immigrants who follow this commonplace voyage we did not have a lot of money at the start of our experience in this new country. However, even if my family started out living in a garage of one my father’s associates, my parents were not deterred in the slightest. My father used an old bike as his only …show more content…
My parents always stressed to my sisters and me that education was a way of proving to yourself that you can have a passion for something that you want to invest in the future. I adopted these views from them and further supplemented them with my own reasoning. An education shows that you are dedicated to a craft, and expertise, or any other skill. This means that you have the strength to put in the work every day to get to these goals whilst remembering that emphasis should be put on the process rather than thinking about the goals themselves. Similarly, this is the same way I viewed my parent’s hard work and dedication into bringing their family out of poverty and to gain capital. I always thought that even if I had a sliver of my parent’s dedication I could do anything. That is why I do whatever I can to get the education I want so I can better my life and I believe that this scholarship and what it represents can do it as
Throughout high school I have dreamed of having the opportunity to attend Indiana University. I have a true passion for babies. I love to learn how babies are developed and how they become such an amazing part of the world. Therefore, I would like to apply to Indiana University and pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing. I would love to be able to deliver babies and deliver new life into this earth. There are several opportunities available for me to get involved with new leadership opportunities. I want to be able to be a leader for all age groups.
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to

Pursuing a higher education is a way of bettering yourself for the world. By bettering yourself, you can impact and change the lives of others, helping with education and being involved in the quality in which others learn to live. Higher education can help to create a work environment that will impact you and your family. Better education also means better wages to extend the value of your education by increasing your yearly income.
As a child I did not know a lot about college. None of the adults in my life had been to College, my family did not talk about it, and it seemed like a distant land that I heard about only in movies and on Television. I was first introduced to college when my third grade class took a field trip to Iowa State University, clearly a much needed field trip considering my lack of exposure to higher education. I was immediately amazed by the grand architecture and massive buildings. I had never seen anything like a University campus before. The few things that I remember about the trip were that everything was big, the college students played with us, and we got to swim in the pool. While the larger purpose of the field trip may have been lost to my childhood excitement of getting to swim in a big pool, the field trip did mark the beginning of my knowledge of higher education and from then on I always viewed it as something that I would be a part of eventually, even if it did seem like a very distant future at age eight. As I grew older I developed other reasons for wanting to attend colle...
My passion for public service initiated in my third grade reading class. It was there that I volunteered for “Reading Together USA”, a program to help younger children learn to read. The joy and delight that I felt from witnessing my students’ progress was unprecedented to any feeling that I ever felt before, and I knew from that point forward that my life would be committed to serving the public. Although my forms (TRYING TO SAY WAYS LIKE 1st pre-med then law) of serving others may have changed, the trend of service has remained constant through high school, college, and even my career.
The ultimate reason I deserve this scholarship is because I won’t disappoint you. I am very hardworking and I like to take on challenges. Getting this scholarship would help me achieve my dream.
Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle once said, “Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity.” This notion is absolutely correct, as I have my education to thank for bringing me through hardships and providing me with so many opportunities to grow professionally as well as morally. Education has always been there to pull me up, when I had nothing else working in my life. I’ve learned how to fight for what I want and not allow anything to get in the way of that.
First off, I would like to say again, thank you for nominating me as a possible recipient for this scholarship. I do not think I have ever been recognized for my academic achievements throughout my entire school career. I never was really focused and determined to learn before like I am now. So just the nomination is an honor, no matter if I receive the scholarship or not. Thank you for the recognition. It truly made my day.
A class full of young kids chasing me around the classroom, giving me the energy and reason I wake up to come here everyday. In two years I will finish my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and management the first step to becoming a teacher. While going to school at Polk State College I will continue my job at Precious Children in the Highlands Preschool. Senior year I had interned there and got a multitude of experiences and offered a part time job as a substitute. After having this experience I have found that this is the job I want to take part in. I currently have finished my online 40 hours of child care classes during my senior year of high school. I hope to inspire young ones to be who they want and to become brilliant students.
Every person has his or her idea of what education should be. One wants to be educated or go to universities so he or she could have a higher degree. Some other person wants to get education just to fulfill one's self. Many people get college education thinking that they can make more money. Education is not about money; it is a lifetime process that enables one to satisfy one's inner self. It makes a person feel good for who they are inside.
Growing up, my parents raised me on values of integrity, charity and ambition. When I was born, my family had lived a one-bedroom apartment with five people. We were never wealthy, but my parents tried their hardest to support me and my siblings and make sure we were raised as respectful, intelligent people who would give back to the world. I was taught to never take the easy way out and encouraged myself to work hard so I could support myself and my family one day. I learned to reflect this in my work, making sure I reach my full potential.
As a young child, I have always known that I’m supposed to be very dedicated to school. My parents came to the United States 17 years ago to have better opportunities for themselves and me. They came to a country they didn’t know anything about with only a few dollars in their pocket. I can't imagine how difficult it must've been for my parents to be able to learn how to adapt to a new country. During those years of living in the United States, they have not always been filled with happiness but also with anger, pain, and sadness.
