I feel that education can set a chain reaction into motion by helping one person better understand why and how their disease is started and continued you can hopefully prevent other generations from making the mistakes of the past by catching the problem before it starts. This is an amazing gift that being in the medical field allows us to have. Bettering the future can start with you furthering you education.

By gaining a higher wage you have the ability to provide and care for your family and self. To me this means that I will be able to provide my children with the ability to gain a higher education and provide a stable healthy environment for them to continue it in. If more individuals would continue educations after high school for better careers with higher wages, this would also change the poverty level and change the lives of children being raised on welfare. Hopefully changing the prospective of young adults on the benefits of gaining a degree will begin to make meaningful change in the outcome of their
life. When I think of a better work environment I begin by thinking where I began working in high school to where I am now. In high school, I worked in fast food it was stressful, dirty and I was treated with little to no respect from customers and management, but I was young and not fully educated. Next I began working as a housekeeper at a medical center, while continuing my education in trade school as a Phlebotomist. For me this job was much better than fast food and I learned what it was like to work in a business where individuals with higher educations were willing to help you and listen to you, not treat you as less of a human this made me want to become one of the team. My current job environment is great it has conditioned me to grow in the medical field. I have seen and learned so much regarding the medical field in my five years working in the laboratory, but I have also learned that it is not where I want to stop. I want to step forward to a higher work environment that is why I have chosen respiratory therapy. I desire having their ability to educate and help patients in the way they do. For me this goes to show even the smallest jump in the environment can change your outlook on where you want to be in life. In conclusion I feel that furthering your education is the best way to change the outcome of your future. Having a higher education will change your work environment, wage and can improve the quality of others around you. I also believe that we should provide better facts to
The desire to further education is essential because it expands the mind of a person. College is implemented to attend a school for four plus years and hope to get a job after graduation. Without higher education there would not be any scientist or engineers in the world to continue to make society run smoother. However, it’s actually more than that, it creates long term friendship and builds independence.
Higher education, to me, is meant for learning about what life truly entails. It is to teach the student, not to find every answer in life, but to create more questions that will eventually need to be answered. Ronald Barnett wrote The Idea of Higher Education, in which Barnett wrote about how higher education, “is not complete unless the student realizes that, no matter how much effort is put in, or how much library research, there are no final answers”. Ronald Barnett’s intended meaning in his selection is to explain that higher education is not supposed to be just like secondary education. Higher education is supposed to destroy the student’s “taken-for-granted world” in which they had been raised and taught to know. First world students have been raised in a place where education is offered to almost everyone, where most people live with roofs over their heads, and have food in their bellies every night. Higher education reveals life and its hardships, and how it affects us and the people we are surrounded by. It shows the truth about the world, and uncovers the information that
Most people know that having a college degree could get you a higher paycheck. However, what people do not know is how much of a difference that degree could get you. Through a study of more than 6 million employees, it was found that people with a four-year degree make about $215,000 more than people without a degree. In addition, people with a graduate degree can make about $440,000 more over a period of twenty years, according to The Ladders (2013, September 7 p. 1). Three quarters of the highest paying industries, eighty percent professionals hold at least a four-year degree. (The Ladders 2013, September 3 p. 2).
For example, having a better career could make it possible to have a better retirement and old age security. Furthermore, continuing education after high school would develop a better understanding of people, provide a great opportunity to meet a wide variety of people, and build a network of friends and contacts. Moreover, Higher education is not only important for career development; it clearly plays a role in personal development as well. Post-secondary education would be an assist in bringing us close to our family, friends, and society, and would make our lives vivid.
What is the purpose of a college education? college education is as important as high school education. Everyone should attend college. Student who are graduating from high school should not be wondering if weather they should attend college or not. I do understand that everyone has a different goal and a different point of view, but still college education is extremely important for many different reasons. higher education is important for so many reasons and some of them are, better future, involved with community, and be more knowledgeable.
People with a college degree tend to make more money than those who didn’t attend college. This is because most of the jobs that have a higher earning require a college degree. People that only get their school diploma don’t make as much money as someone with a college degree. A study done suggest that people who have a college degree are more likely to get hired because they have an education compared to those who don’t. According to the United States Bureau people who achieved the current degrees earned the following median salaries. People with a doctorate degree earn $100,000 or more. With a bachelor’s degree people earn $58,000 and people with an associates earn $42,000 or more(Lucier). A High School diploma is not worth as much as a college degree. A High school diploma means less today because of the shaping of the world. People who only have a high school diploma earn only about $33,000. These numbers also depend on the type of field that you are going into. For example, people that have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or management will earn a little bit more (Lynn). They will earn more because these fields are really important. In my opinion the United States has been transformed
Attending college is one of the greatest accomplishments of my life! After earning a high school diploma, I promised my mother I would earn a college degree. My mother would repeatedly say “earning a degree, working hard, and raising a family” were the pillars of life. Instead of following the “pillars of life” I decided to shake things up a little. She was astonished when I joined the United States Army. Now that I have retired from the United States Army after twenty years, it’s time to finally fulfill that promise. Obtaining a college degree will make a better life for me and my family. A better life sounds like a term that is used loosely in a crowded room full of broke people. A better life to one person can mean something totally different
In my humble opinion, higher education institutions, change the world for the better, helping people to be encouraged, and more optimistic about life in general. As a person from an uneducated family, an education beyond high school has always been just a dream until now. As a whole, in the United States, higher education is seen as a necessity for most people to be successful, to be gained through university as apposed to self-taught. According to the president of Harvard, Drew Gilpin Faust, "Higher education generates broader economic growth as well as individual success." (Faust, 2010). Providing students with the knowledge to have a successful career, is not the only accomplishment of higher education, it also enables students to see the world with more clarity and understanding. Therefore, creating a more dynamic and open

Getting a degree in a college is not as simple as I thought. Since the difficulty to get a right education for my degree, depends on whether I know my obstacles or not. If I know what my obstacles are, then I can overcome them faster. However, if I do not, then I cannot move further to my degree, until I figure out what are those. Thinking about my obstacles, three majors I am facing are physical challenges, financial issues, and a language barrier.
Research shows that with higher education levels, there is also a rise in civic participation and lower crime rates. This all means not only having smarter individuals, but also stronger and safer communities. When more people have the opportunity to pursue higher education, they also gain knowledge and skills that can be applied to various fields. All of this leads to advancements in technology, medical, and other areas. Think about all of the amazing discoveries and innovations that have come from educated individuals.
Higher wages will mean more money in people’s pockets to spend, increasing the economic growth. College is also a time where many students have the liberty to socialize and meet new people. By meeting new people, it expands connections for future inquiries. One of the student pointed out, “If you want to land a good internship, she learned, you must put yourself out there” (Hoover). This proves that a degree is not worth anything without good communication skills.

The American higher education system has always been deemed as the best in the world. Statistics consistently show that most Nobel winners received higher education in America and a majority of international students choose America as their dream county to study abroad. The standard of higher education in America is unique and unparalleled in many ways. However, it’s always hard to live up to a great reputation. The system suffers from deficits in many respects. For example, some scholars question the effectiveness of teaching and learning as the quality of graduated students is hardly satisfactory; also, the increase of cost and tuition is skyrocketing, which puts a huge burden on students and their parents; Therefore, accountability of higher education is doubted by a variety of individuals and groups. This research paper will better explore the American higher education through the following aspects:
Some societies are built in the midst of underdeveloped communities that undermine the worth of a college degree; some can not afford the house they live in, let alone afford a higher degree. That is why post- secondary education is a gateway out of social economic situations of poverty, and to obtain knowledge to change the social economic mindset that education is not their way out of poverty. If these communities that are held to poverty all had college degrees, then it would change that economic status, making that community thrive with wealth. Most poverty-stricken families have to work together to pay rent or groceries, and the means to get money is to get jobs at young ages to help provide money for their families. If communities in destitute situations earned a higher degree, they would be able to sustain a life without the need of worry of financial troubles that they are faced or will face without a higher degree.
