In the article “Notes toward a Methodology of Popular Culture Study” Lawrence Mintz, stated the meaning of explicit to be something that is clear and understandable and the meaning of implicit to be something that is expressed but not clearly stated (pg. 158). Watching the video and listening to the sound of the song of “Pumped up Kicks” is actually looks and sounds very peaceful. The sound of “Pumped up Kicks” is nice, anyone can dance to this song. The video of “Pumped up Kicks” shows the band going to places and having fun. The lyrics of the song are serious since it is about a murderer trying to shoot kids and the kids having to run and hide. “Pumped up Kicks” has an implicit meaning since because you can not clearly understand the meaning of the song. “Stressed out” by Twenty One Pilots actually states that the song has a clear meaning. The song “Stressed out’ is about two adults acting like children and their family are having enough and tell them to grow up and the adults wish they can go back time so they won’t be “Stressed out”. Yet, as a general rule, all they were were just another pair of shoes that he would, in the long run, simply discard for the following extraordinary thing available. Individuals turn out to be so caught up in the moment that they neglect to perceive what they are following. Individuals make foolish buys to fit in for the time being; however, when they ponder a portion of the decisions they have made, they wind up feeling absurd for their futile buys. In general, the song “Wings” is about society attempting to persuade individuals what they are supposed to be and the amount they should pay to be viewed as cool or famous by all accounts and how as a child, Macklemore was eager to spend fundamentally any measure of cash on shoes that would make him cool. When he grew up, he understood that with a specific end goal to be a leader, one can't simply join a development and fit in with what every other person is
The relevance of the song was portraying that using drugs and alcohol will help you escape life situations. Regardless of how hard or tough it is. All you need to do is to get drunk or get high, than your problems will flush away. But the video don’t explain the reality of the outcome of how drugs and alcohol will or could affect your lifestyle and how it could lead you to lose your job, family and life. All it shows is the fun side of being intoxicated. Which, it raises a big flag on kids or teens that do have access to the media like the
“They’re snobs.” “They’re ditzy.” “They are just brats.” Cheerleaders. There are many problems with stereotyping, and cheerleaders are no strangers to it. Every cheerleader could probably tell you a time when someone stereotyped them, whether that be them as a person or an athlete. While on some occasions cheerleaders really do fit the stereotypical vision of a cheerleader off of a movie, most are not your typical “cheerleader”; intelligent, polite, and athletic are all characteristics of these individuals. Making judgements about a person based on what sport they played is not deserved. Most people in high school would say they knew, or thought they knew how cheerleaders were, but if taking the time to get to know the kind of people they are, then people’s opinion would change.
Hip-Hop: from the live performances to the lyrics this here brought up many thoughts in my head. I attended a concert on April 2016 and several other old school concerts at the Queen Mary, front row VIP area which included; Debbie deb, Cover girls, Vanilla ice and so on. Going to an old school/hip-hop concert the songs and experiences as a whole are different with every time. New school hip-hop is narrative and with this you can receive the same lyrical experience every time, as for the concert the experience is the same as the next. I am not saying that an old school concert isn’t different in its own way but I do think their not so far apart performance wise. Example going to a “Drake” concert is more narrative compared to an old school
The focus of this paper is mechanically and automatically break down the deadlift. It focuses on the four phases of the deadlift (The lift off, pull through, the lockout, and the lowering phase) as well as the muscles involved in lifting and lowering the load. The sole purpose of the deadlift is for health and fitness. It is a core lift that works nearly every muscle in the body. Muscles from the lower and upper extremities will go through a period of flexion and extension when moving through the phases. The deadlift should be performed safely, and with proper form to avoid injury. This paper shows and demonstrates the proper form of the deadlift. There are also a number of forces acting on the load and the athlete. Gravity and external forces will be an active part of lifting the load. Images and tables are provided in the paper to better understand the movements and muscles used when performing the deadlift.
While on a recent carefree jaunt throughout Harlem, I was introduced to the lyrical genius of one “Big L.” As is common of all true artists, Mr. L passed before his time, but not without a legacy. You see, it is the will of the Almighty Himself that I elucidate the meaning of Mr. L’s first major work, “Put it On,” in order for it to be made accessible to the common man and the upper crust alike, so that this truly majestic piece may live for eternity in the bosom of humankind. To this end, I have composed a line-for-line translation of the complex, sophisticated diction, which, I expect, will henceforth serve as the standard through which all scholars will study this master of the English language.

Children are often addicted watching Televisions shows from early age. While watching TVs shows children often learns so many things. Things children learn off the TV shows depends on what kind of shows they are watching. Some TV show presents things that children shouldn’t allowed to watch by their guardians. One TV show that guardians of children should forbid them to watch is WWE wrestling. Children under twelve years old shouldn’t be allowed to watch wrestling WWE because watching endless hours of wrestling makes children imitate the dangerous action in real life, use of profane languages, and use of inappropriate gestures.
If one were to turn on the television and watch the news you would hear a lot of news stories, but you won’t commonly hear about a rising incline in steroids in today’s society. Today many people, even children, are using steroids to gain a strength advantage over their peers. So why are people using steroids?

People are surrounded by music every day of their lives. They hear it in their homes, on the radio on their way to work; some people have even caught themselves humming the tune of their favorite song to themselves. But how many people actually listen and not just hear the music they are listening to? Teens in particular don’t realize the message behind the music they are quoting the lyrics to, or the effect it has on them. In today’s culture where rap music has become increasingly popular, many teens aren’t realizing what they are listening to. A lot of teens would argue that the music they listen to has no effect on them, but they are wrong. Rap music, especially, has had a major impact on teenagers in today’s society.
Cocaine is a dangerous drug that acts as a stimulant on the brain (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2013). It is derived from the leaves of the South American coca plant and can be found as a powder, or be produced as a rock crystal, also known as crack. Cocaine is injected or snorted and produces a high that is euphoric, and the individual has increased energy and becomes very talkative (NIDA, 2013). Because cocaine is a stimulant, it increases blood pressure, heart rate, and body temperature (NIDA, 2013). In the brain, cocaine causes dopamine to build up between synapses (NIDA, 2013).
