Vacation in Puerto Rico Everyone has a spot where they go to get away from daily routine and all the troubles of life. There is always one place that can bring peace and relaxation to your soul that will relieve all the stress. When I was in Puerto Rico, all the traces of my commitments were temporarily erased. My trip to the island was the best vacation I have ever had. After we arrived to San Juan, we drove about one hundred miles to the two-story house that my friends and I rented for four days. The cozy villa was located on the top of a hill next to the ocean. After checking the inside of the house, all of us decided to explore the surroundings, particularly the beach. It was a hot summer afternoon when my friends and I were walking …show more content…
along the sensational Areciba beach. After I sat down alongside my friends and buried my feet into the velvet like sand, the magnificent view of semi opaque, turquoise ocean caught my eye. I experienced the ultimate relaxation watching the waves running onto the rocky shore. The glaring sunrays shimmered over the water like tiny golden powder, as the massive waves peaked and smashed into one another with roaring sounds. As a result, the shore was covered with algae, shells and surf, which was made by loud, crashing ocean waves. From time to time the waves brutally washed away sand castles that kids made by the edge of shoreline. People of all ages were enjoying the day on the spectacular beach by playing Frisbees, dancing to exotic music or just peacefully taking sunbaths under the baking July sun. Even though the water was cold, we dove into the chilly salty ocean to cool ourselves down from sultry island weather. My friends and I adjusted to the coolness comparatively quick and started having fun by splashing each other with crystal clear water. We continued the pleasant afternoon playing endless volleyball games. We noticed that the day was coming to an end, so my friends and I decided to watch the breath-taking sunset.
Sitting side by side each other, we goggled at the astonishing scene of fiery massive star sinking lower and lower in the sky. The golden threads painted the blue canvas with the composition of orange, purple and red blended together, reflecting off the waves of ocean. Flaming citrus orb was steadily disappearing beneath the horizon. Within minutes the luminous glow of the sky turned from crimson to purple shimmered with spotted diamonds. I closed my eyes to feel the gentle touch of the cool twilight breeze that was blowing my hair softly and making my skin prickle. As the twilight was slipping away, I took a deep breath filling the lungs with the refreshing oceanic air to save that peaceful feeling. I lay there motionless gazing at the navy sky filled with boundless amount of tiny shining stars thinking that I was in my own little spot of paradise. Nothing could have been compared with the exotic beauty of Puerto Rico. Waking up early in the morning to the smell of reviving, salty ocean breeze arouse your soul. I got out of my bed and saw my friends making scrambled eggs for breakfast. I filled the mug with coffee and cream and sat on the balcony to enjoy the beautiful ocean view. Chirping of the birds and calming murmuring sounds of the ocean waves made the mornings unforgettable
there. Later that day we decided to try out zip lining in the “Carite” rain forest where we made the reservation several weeks prior. The hour and a half long mountain road was very crooked and extremely narrow, but it didn’t stop other drivers from speeding. The heavy fall of the rain drenched through the cloudy sky the halfway to the rain forest; I could still remember all the tension I experienced during that road trip. When we finally got there, we were told that due to the bad weather conditions zip lining wasn’t possible, and the rest of the week was already booked. All wet and upset we decided to cheer up by having a nice dinner in one of San Juan’s authentic restaurants. The food in Puerto Rico was mouthwatering and delicious. “Pork carnite” was one of the best pork dishes I have ever had. My friends tried “Monfongo” and “Pincho”, which had BBQ chicken pieces, bread and veggies on a stick. While we were making drink orders, I found out from the server that island was the world’s leading rum producer and rum was a national Puerto Rican drink. Thus the next day we went to Bacardi plant tour to learn more about the favorite drink of pirates. First we were given three coupons for free drinks in the bar to warm up and visit the gift shop. After we went directly into the plant and explored how rum was being made. We were also given small but very significant tips on how to make the best mixed drinks with it. On the way back home we heard some wonderful, charming soulful music, which was coming from the beach. We decided to check the party out and saw people of all ages dancing salsa and bochata. Our bodies started moving along with the music and we couldn’t stop dancing all night long under the dark blue sky filled with millions of sky diamonds – stars. Early in the morning on my final day of the vacation, I made the decision to gather some shells and colorful beach stones to bring home with me. I walked along the beach to collect picturesque impressions of my trip. After we packed our things, we headed back home with sadness in our eyes. In conclusion I would like to say that it was one of the most unforgettable and amazing four days of my vacation. One day I’ll come back to the island of paradise to recall all my memories and to make new ones.
The world is filled with many gorgeous lands, but Puerto Rico absolutely tops them all. This land is particularly intriguing due to its vast variety of beaches filled with people of all different ethnicities as if it were a melting pot. When experiencing these beaches the senses are overwhelmed with the smell of fresh salt water, foods ranging from fruits that are both sweet and tangy like candy. As soon as person steps on to one of these beaches, he or she can instantly hear people splashing and playing as if he or she were kids in a swimming pool during the summer. Whiles music playing the sounds of the island a music that is infectious and made your body want to succumb to the sounds of the all while the sun warms the air around them like a heater in the winter.
When I stepped out of the hot, airless plane into the bright, dazzling sunlight beaming down across the burning concreate, I felt excited and nervous. Holding my beach bag in my hand and slipping my Ray Ban sunglasses on with my other, I flip-flopped down the airspace. Overhead I heard the screams of gulls and the chatter of the small fluffy birds. I suddenly realized I had arrived to Hawaii. This trip was such an unforgettable vacation for me because I got to witness the beauty of nature that Hawaii has to offer.
The azure waters where I can see the stunning aquatic creatures, the olive palm trees that dance side to side to the music in the wind, and the astonishing Spanish culture. All of these are mutual features Puerto Rico and Honduras (Central American Country) share. I am proud to represent such beautiful and cultural places. My mother is from Honduras, and my biological father is from Puerto Rico. I was born in North Carolina in a minor town named Saint Paul's. I do not dream of becoming a famous idol or a millionaire. I dream of being able to achieve goals that will impact my life and the rest of the world.

The United States annexed Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War of 1898. Between 1898 and 1901, U.S. government officials began to come up with a new doctrine to conquer nations and what their roles would be in relation to the United States interests. It allowed them to conquer territories throughout the world for military and economic purposes without Congress giving them relief. To allow this to happen, the U.S. created backup information for the Constitution in a sense that would allow them to govern Puerto Rico and the other territories taken during the Spanish-American War. Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands are some

Cococay is a charming little island, owned by Royal Caribbean. It's enclosed by the mellow turquoise waters. I was walking home from school with my best friend Allie. We live in Sanibel Island, Florida. It’s beautiful there. There are enviously beautiful white sand beaches and the water is the perfect color of turquoise. Scratchy palm trees and smooth seashells are scattered everywhere. It always smells like tropical fruits. And because we walk home along the beach our walk home always has the best sights you will ever see.
This morning I wake early from the light that creeps underneath my blinds and my bed next to the window. I wake floating on the streams of light, heated, like white wax spilled across the floor, dripping, soft. In bare feet I walk down the stairs, cold on the wood, and find my father in the kitchen, also awake early. Together, we leave the house, the house that my parents built with windows like walls, windows that show the water on either side of the island. We close the door quietly so as not to wake the sleepers. We walk down the pine-needle path, through the arch of trees, the steep wooden steps to the dock nestled in the sea-weed covered rocks. We sit silently on the bench, watch as the fog evaporates from the clear water. The trees and water are a painting in muted colors, silver and grays and greenish blue, hazy white above the trees.
The waves roll onto white sand beaches and vanishes into non-existence, and another is born and tumbles towards the shore. The setting sun dyes the western sky bright red. People are laughing, talking, and embracing under sunset. I can feel that the warm sand is squished through my toes. The weather is nice. There is not a speck of cloud to be seen in the sky. The sky seems a watercolor painting, mixing red, blue, purple, and etc. I sometimes perceive the foamy mist from ocean sprays my face very lightly as if it is the touch of a soft feather. Through various sounds, I can hear the cry of seagulls circling overhead, and gives the part of Santa Monica beach fascinating character of its own. As time passes, I senses the fresh and gentle breeze. When I close my eyes, then I have the feeling of I sitting alone on the broad sandy beach for a moment. I open my eyes again. The colors swirl together in muddled mass over the sky. The sky turns into blue violet, and the scenery around me is added colorful artificial light. lIt is the most beautiful sight I think and my favorite time. The children frolicking on the
A smile crept across my face as I turned around and watched the land get smaller and further away. The vast ocean lay before us with promises of a whole week with gorgeous views, interesting people, terrific food and freedom. This...is heaven.
