Ms. Satagaj, Thank you for considering me for the position of Public Policy Assistant! I am extremely interested in this opportunity to work for the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association. My current objective is to expand my work into a new state legislature offering new challenges. I was born and raised on the the east coast and would treasure the opportunity to work in Boston. I currently work for a multi-client lobbying firm in Lansing, Michigan as a lobbyist associate. We represent numerous associations, including the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents, Michigan Creditors Bar Association, Michigan Pawnbrokers Association and the Associated Food and Petroleum Dealers. I believe that this experience suits me well

Policy in my perspective illustrates as a decision making, planning and or action taken to achieve a certain specific goal within our society. According to Longest B. (2010), his definition stated in his text book states that a policy is defined as ” authoritative decisions made in the legislative, executive, or judicial branches of government that are intended to direct or influence the actions, behaviors, or decisions of others.” In developing a policy, certain steps need to be taken in act to implement the policy. The crucial steps in implementing a policy are: recognizing the problem, agenda setting, formulating the policy, and finally implementing the policy (N.A., 2015).
I may not have had much experience in foreign policy on the ground, but I am passionate and willing to work hard and learn as I go. Second, I would like to gain more legal experience before I attend law school in the Fall of 2019. The Office of White House Counsel was recommended to me by an AUSA during my internship with the U.S. Attorney’s office. Finally, I want to make a positive change in the everyday lives of Americans. This administration is moving forward and achieving promises they set out on the campaign trail, and I want to be a part of that team.
Lobbyists advocate on behalf of the group's interests. Lobbying can be done directly or indirectly, and can be aimed at any branch or level of government. Generally, lobbyists contact members of Congress to give them information about their cause. They give details about the effects of legislation they wish to pass or enforce. Lobbyists must present the information in the most factual way possible, while trying to convince the legislator of their point of view. The information given cannot be misleading as a lobbyist wants to keep a level of confidence with the politician. Among the information given, a lobbyist must include not only basic information about the issue but also why their position is best. They must tell why and how taking their position will benefit the legislator. Lobbyists must give the politicians political cues, telling them what they have at stake and how the issue relates to their other known inter...

I would like to personally thank you for your time, and the opportunities Dick’s Sporting Goods has offered my community. We would not be able to offer the children in our community the chance to experience playing a youth sport regardless of their physical skills or ability to pay.
Back in May, the Wisconsin State Assembly Races were just starting to heat up. Candidates were throwing their names in the ring and people were experiencing potential candidates knocking on their doors and collecting signatures to reach the 200 minimum threshold to get their names on the ballot in August. I knew that I wanted to intern for a candidate in an assembly race because I had a few interesting races in the area I am from. I wanted to work for an assembly candidate in the 59th district because I know the area very well and I believed that I could actually have an impact on the race. Assembly races are more personable and they are elected to represent a smaller area, so the work was more focused on a central point. Also, working for a candidate in an Assembly race just makes more sense for college students, especially if the internship is unpaid because there is less driving to do in smaller districts.
To be the representative for North Dakota’s ASCLS would be of great honor. Over the course of my life I have always attempted to have a strong work ethic, be a trustworthy person, and to be reliable in everything I do. Up to this point, I feel like I have done an excellent job of being true to myself and feel like I have caused others to adopt a better way of living. Now that I am entering the laboratory profession, I feel like it’s time for me to step up and be more of a leader and to do this being a ASCLS representative would be a perfect start. This is since I feel like I am the best candidate to do so and fit the criteria needed to represent ASCLS.
Public Administration involves the development, implementation and management of policies for the attainment of set goals and objectives that will be to the benefit of the general public. Since Public Administration involves taking decisions that affect the use of public resources there is often the question of how to utilize public resources for maximum public good. The National Association of Public Administration has identified four pillars of public administration: economy, efficiency, effectiveness and social equity. These pillars are equally important in the practice of public administration and to its success. This paper seeks to explain the role of each of the pillars in the practice of public administration.
Social Policy Work Experience I am currently participating in a project named 'Curtain Call' which is organised by Hallam Volunteering. Hallam volunteering is part of the students union at Sheffield Hallam University. The organisation is led by students, it is controlled and managed by one head student who is elected to take control by other students via a vote. It does however have five members of staff who are not students; they are full-time members of staff, with their roles involving support and guidance for student volunteers (www.hallamunion.co.uk) Hallam Volunteering was set up over thirty years ago by a small group of students who wanted to take action and help the community. This group got bigger and received more recognition and was formally recognised by the students union.
' By Public Administration is meant the activities of the executive branches of the national, state, & local governments. ', (Simon)
I am very thankful that Intro to Public Affairs was a course that I had to take during my freshman year at IPFW. I believe that the material that I learned will be very beneficial to not only the rest of my college career but also to my everyday life outside of school. Creating reflections, blogs and even partaking in discussions, has helped me realized I can partake in public policy or at least understand it better.
In the political approach, political authority is divided between a central government and the provincial or state governments. This means that some provinces or states are accorded a substantial measure of constitutional or legal sovereignty, although they still remain subordinates of the central government in certain constitutional or legal respects. The political approach promotes the political values of military strength, economic development, union, and representation. In addition, it is characterized by three central features: state sovereignty, bicameralism, and multiple layers of representation.

You ever wonder how the government goes about choosing candidates for specific agencies in the government? Well that’s what public personnel administration is for. Public personnel administration can be defined as the totality of government organization, policies, procedures and processes used to match the needs of public agencies with the people who staff those agencies. It is a branch of human resource management that is concerned with the acquisition, development, utilization, and compensation of a public organization’s workforce. The term includes three key words in which each has their own specific meanings. First, "public" refers to regional and local governmental agencies as well as non-profit ones. "Personnel" refers to both employees of an organization and to the function and administrative unit that is responsible for hiring. "Administration" refers to the way human resources manages public organizations in an effective and efficient way that helps the organization reach its many objectives and goals.
