In this chapter I learn different learning domains and techniques to help answer nursing questions.

In the chapter at the beginning I learn about four styles of learning domains which are psychomotor domain, affective domain, capture moments of time, use appropriate resources, and balance sacrifices and rewards. In psychomotor domain I learned that some people learn by being actively involved. For example, these people would look at information different ways, either watching videos, doing it the producer hands on or by watching other people. is leaning with an open-mind. For instance, as a nursing student, we must open our listening skills to our patients and should not stereotype them. Capture moments of Time study every moment they get. Use Appropriate Resources learners find every book related to the topic they need to cover and study them. They also form group, discussion to open themselves up with ideas and information others can have. Balance Sacrifices and Rewards is the art of being able to balance school and time for you. In the next part of the chapter I learn about different study techniques related to cognitive learning nursing questions. Four parts to know is knowledge, comprehension, application and analysis. Knowledge is the ability to recall information based on knowledge that we have gained. In order to gain knowledge the techniques that can be used is memorization, alphabet cues, acronyms, acrostics and mnemonics. Comprehension is when you understand the information that is in the question. Application question is harder because it is the use of a scenario it a question. Analysis of a question is the way a person interprets the question or understands the information in the question. 3. Give one personal, one academic, and a nursing/clinical well-chosen example from real life experiences or actual instances that support your understanding of the reading – (4 sentences per example minimum). In the clinical setting I have learned listening skills are important and every nurse should have it. Apart of being a great nurse is being fair-minded. In order to treat our patients with great care is to pay attention to what they are saying even when they are only Alert time 2 because their response are important. A patient change in speech could tell a nurse multiply things to help make an assessment of the patient. So pay attention to detail is important and being open-minded. Academic in order to answer nursing question I have broken it down.
They are questions that I can answer right away because they are about information I have memorized. However, there are questions that involved situation in the clinical field that are harder to answer, especially if it is select all questions. In order to answer these questions the student does not only need to know the information they must understand the scope of nursing.
A personal example is that I am a psychomotor domain. I need to see information different way. For example, I need to see videos, charts, or people doing the process. I did well in the clinical section of Nursing Process I because I am a fast learner when I do the process hands-on. I have a hard time processing large amounts of information so; when I study I need to read section more than once. Understanding my domain of learning has taught me different ways that I can look at information to help me process the information I need to study.
4. Describe in detail (2) changes are you going to make, because of the concepts discussed in this chapter? Minimum 10 sentences per intended
change. The first change I am going to make is to present the information I need to learn in different ways. For example, I am going to make the information I need to study more hands on by reading the charts of how to complete the producers. I will also look at the videos on the information so it will help me understand the information. If I cannot get a video I will record me saying my notes so I will be able to listen to the information that I need. I will also pick up the habit of studying every chance I get like the capture the moments of time. Last semester I learn the reason I did not do so well is because I did not capture the moment. With my busy schedule I tried to fit in a enough studying time and I did not. So, when ever there is an opening in my schedule, I will look at my notes or book by carrying it around. I will also make a vocabulary list to help learn terms that I need to know and do not understand. Also I will be able to set up a study group because I come to realize I do not only learn from the professor but also my peer. I will also ask for help this time by asking people to go over the material with me by talking it out and asking questions. The second change is how I answer questions. When I answer nursing question I had trouble to understand the main question. Now that I understand how to break it down the question, I will be able to answer them. The main part of answering the question I am going to remember is the scope of nursing, Maslow’s hierarchy, alphabet cues and the acronyms. For example, CAB, CAUTION, INFECT and Three Ps. The CAB is Circulation, Airway, and Breathing for assessing the cardiopulmonary resuscitation for health care providers. CAUTION is for the teaching of early signs of cancer. CAUTION stands for change in bowel and bladder habits, a sore that does not heal, unusual bleeding, thickening, indigestion, obvious change, nagging. INFECT is for indicators of infection. INFECT stands for increased pulse, respirations, white blood cell count, nodes enlarged, function impaired, erythematic, complaints of discomfort, and temperature increase. The three P’s are cardinal signs of diabetes mellitus which are polyuria, polydipsia, and polyphagia. Knowing these signs and information will help me answer many different questions. This is why I will start being resourceful and get all the materials I need for the information I need to know because it will help me and my patients in the long run.

This book teaches the importance of self-expression and independence. If we did not have these necessities, then life would be like those in this novel. Educators consider nursing education to be serious. Their role in preparing nursing students is to convey safe practice for patients. Understanding one’s learning style has many advantages as it can help one to identify the learning method or activities that can help to optimise the learning experience. It has been suggested that the importance of one’s learning style has been identified through studies and research on how one can maximise the potential for success and further learning development (Honey & Mumford, 2006). Learning styles are unique to each individual and are developed in childhood (Chase, 2001). We all have different personalities; therefore we all have preferred learning styles that suit us best. The way one learns depends on preference. Some learn by observing, listening and imitating others and draw conclusions from their experience. There are several factors that affect our learning style; for example, background, culture, religion and environment can have a major influence on one’s learning.
