Tips For Staying Safe As You Work On Your Roof
If you plan to make roof repairs yourself, you want to keep some basic safety guidelines in mind. Roofers make working on a roof look easy, but that's because they have a lot of experience. If you're not careful, you could end up with a serious injury. Here are some safety tips to consider.
Know When A Professional Roofer Is Needed
There are times when it's best to leave roofing repairs to a professional unless you have experience working on a roof. If your home has multiple levels or if the pitch of the roof is very steep, the risk of injury escalates. In those cases, you may want to hire a roofer to make the repairs. Also, consider the type of roof you have. Some types of tile will crack easily if you don't walk on the roof properly. In that case, you'll do more harm than good by attempting repairs yourself. Don't overestimate your ability. If you have any doubt as to whether you can safely work on your roof, then it's better to hire a pro and stay safe.

Don't use a wobbly old ladder you have in the garage if you can't safely get on and off the roof with it. Fiberglass is the best material for a roof ladder because there is the risk of electrocution if you use an aluminum ladder and brush against a power line. Make sure the ladder is on stable ground, and don't climb it with roofing materials in your hands. Instead, get up on the roof and pull the supplies up with a rope and bucket. Also, it's best to have a helper around or at least climb on the roof when someone is home in case you accidentally knock the ladder over. You don't want to be stuck on a hot roof all day because there is no ladder to climb

Then, there can be so many of them in the death zone that there are traffic jams. Some days, up to 200 people set off.” Since there are delays, people have to stay longer, and they “…can suffer exposure and use their precious supplies of oxygen.” Many people end up dying since they all thought they could climb the

My uncle also did the same thing in the same way. My uncle also got a skid loader bucket dropped on his foot because he wasn’t being careful. The means of egress is often times the difference between life and death at any fire incident. If people are to stay alive during a fire incident, they must possess an avenue of evacuating that space in as safe a manner as possible. In an online article by Michael O’Brian, he gave the following observation: the means of egress is critical to the safety of occupants in every occupied structure (O'Brian, 2008). Proper function of an egress system is paramount to the safety of occupants trying to exit a structure during an emergency. According to O’Brian, the means of egress is based on several principles: occupants will have choices on how to evacuate; the system will accommodate the number of occupants and provide some separation from the fire; and the path is clear, illuminated and marked (O'Brian, 2008). The means of egress is a “continuous and unobstructed path of vertical and horizontal egress travel from any occupied portion of a building to a public way” (National Fire Academy, 2009). The means of egress has evolved over time due to unfortunate incidents that occurred over the years. Different organizations and associations analyze the data recovered from investigations to determine causes and suggest corrective measures to be instituted in an effort to make structures safer in the future.

In the past years there have been approximately two hundred- thirty deaths on Everest. There is an area called “Death Zone”. The text states, they may have wicked weather, icy slopes, and more. Another reasons why the rescuer shouldn’t risk their lives is the risk is the lack of oxygen. A problem with the climbers is they may not be skilled enough to climb Everest.
