There are many contradiction whether the death penalty should or should not be repealed. The death penalty should not be repealed because most who kill usually don 't change, people who kill don 't see prison as punishment, and no single individual should have the right to kill.

Firstly criminals have strong drives towards the crimes they commit. Someone can be influenced by the worst of the emotions, anger, it overshadows right and brings out an uncontrollable desire for harm. Anger leads to hate and hate leads to grudges and when an individual is misled by an emotion as strong as anger or hate, a criminal can rise out of even the most innocent. The treatment of the prison system has become a form of relax for prisoners. Some criminals commit crimes just to get into prison. Prison offers a nice warm bed for convicts to sleep and most of the time they are treated even with a pillow. Criminals in prison are fed three times a day, some may say,“but yes it 's nothing like the comfort of a suburban home”, but most don 't realize that criminals outside of prison don 't have a place to sleep and food to eat. Prison offers a type of safe haven from the outside, giving them shelter, food, and a comfortable place to sleep won’t change a criminal, it just gives them more incentive to keep committing the same …show more content…

Opposers may say, ”isn 't the courts taking a life by putting a criminal to the death sentence”? Yes, matter of fact they are but as a jury they are keeping criminals from committing crimes that lead to sorrow and pain. It ultimately comes back to the golden rule, “treat others the way you would like to be treated”. If an individual doesn 't fancy being brutally murdered, they should reconsider the idea of murder in the first place. The Swedish believe in the golden rule, if one is caught stealing from another they settled it by cutting off an arm, or if an individual should take another 's life the life, it is only fair that the favor should be returned.
When an individual is blinded by such great emotional distress and commits brutal crimes towards others, they don 't stop to think that they may be tearing apart a family. When a family is faced with a situation such as losing one of their own the devastation is grievous, yet again the powerful emotion of anger and heat will engulf the individual and ultimately cause the innocent to transform into a criminal.

In Conclusion, the death sentence should not be repealed. The risk is too great to have criminals walking the streets. Most won’t take the chance to change mainly because the wonderful treatment of prison, and in the sense of mortality the golden rule should be enforced greatly to prevent further
