Spielberg has been known for being a tough businessman but also he is known for his charity acts (Friedman & Notobohm). Spielberg has been known for not giving enough credit to people that had worked with him (Friedman & Notobohm). The magazine Forbes, says that he has long been the wealthiest director in America, but it was not until he knew Steve Ross, the late chairman of Time Warner, that his pockets began to open (Friedman & Notobohm). Steven donated $750,000 to the American Red Cross.80% of what he does is anonymous but he also has a couple of buildings with his name, there is always place for the ego (Friedman & Notobohm, 2000).
Steven has not only supported some causes but also, thanks to his success in the movie industry he has created

Spielberg’s first film for the studio was Amistad which was nominated to four Academy Awards and a nomination for Directors Guild of America. In 2005 DreamWorks founders, between them Spielberg, would decide to sell the studio to Viacom, an American media conglomerate with interests in cinema and television. Steven explained they created DreamWorks with the idea of keeping together the most talented people of Hollywood so they could conserve the commercial control and creativity (“Friedman and Notobohm, 2000). In 2008 DreamWorks became an independent studio again, when Reliance Big Entertainment helped them with $550
(Singer, 2006) Gates believes that equal value of all human life is particularly prominent. Singer also gives credit to billionaire investor Warren Buffett because he showed to be a compassionate person when he contributed $31 billion to Bill Gates foundation, and another $6 billion to other charitable foundations. Buffett donations went to reduce poverty, disease, and premature death. In July, 2015 Warren Buffett donated a personal philanthropy record of $2.8 billion to five foundation as a part of his annual pledge. Steven Spielberg, the only child of Leah and Arnold Spielberg, was born on December 18, 1946 at the beginning of the Baby Boom years in Cincinnati, Ohio. It does not take a great stretch of the imagination to see that Steven’s film influences were derived from his father’s experience as a World War II veteran and computer technician and his mother’s past profession as a concert pianist. The love and amount of technology, history, and music within Steven’s films can all be traced back to his early life with his family.
Overall, the movie The Amistad was pretty accurate. There are some flaws to Spielberg's movie, but nothing's always perfect. He had some parts that were almost dead on like the role of Joseph Cinque. Then there are also other roles that were complete fiction like Theodore Joadson. There is always going to be a flaw or two in some movies.
Elton John is listed as the top supporter on www.looktothestars.org (a celebrity charity database). The famous singer has donated countless money in previous years to organizations around the world. John has retained the title of the most generous person in music for many years since 2004 (Look). A great example of the fantastic things he does was shown in 2008, when he donated over 100 motorcycles to a small African nation, for use of doctors and nurses visiting patients (Look).
Subjective sounds are sounds that do not originate from the environment but can work well to strengthen pacing, story or mood. They can be sounds that the character cannot hear or interact with but instead affect the viewer. Subjective music could be used as a way to create contrast, for example, with typically happy music set against a sad scene.
JAWS was not the only film of his to make the "100 best films of the century" list by the American Film Institute. Many of Steven Spielberg's works have been placed on that list, and many are so timeless, they will live in the hearts of generations to come. Such films as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., Indiana Jones, and Jurassic Park have become legendary. In Spielberg's down time, he stringed together a personal little film about a suburban boy who befriends an earthbound alien, also known as E.T. for Extra-Terrestrial. It hit theaters in 1982 and became an instant classic and is still the defining film of his landmark-filled career. This magical and exceedingly sentimental film surpassed even George Lucas' Star Wars to become one of the biggest domestic moneymakers of all time. He has the unparalleled talent of capturing people's imagination and dreams, but at the same time tapping into humanities darkest nightmares.
Many people have claimed that Misha has saved their lives, improved their self-esteem/self-worth, their view on the world, and so much more. Some even go as far as to say that Misha changed their minds when it came to taking their lives, solely on the fact that Misha Collins exist. Many have also benefited from Misha’s woodworking/carpenter skills as well. He’s built Schools in Nicaragua, and he’s built homeless shelters in Bellingham, WA. It’s also affected Misha in a positive light as well. He’s used his position, and past experiences to connect to others. He’s shared his life story, and spread a very positive message around his fan base. This message effected many communities, from minorities, to the L.G.B.T+ community and to poverty stricken communities. Misha’s stance is very powerful, and he doesn’t take the responsibility that comes with it lightly. He’s truly a good person, an angel among men, some would
However, to regain his fame, Steven decided to test his luck in his reality TV show, Steven Seagal: Lawman, that airs on the A&E Network. He also seems to act in whatever film he gets his hands on, including ten movies since 2014, most of which have a rating of fewer than 4 stars on IMDB. Maybe it is about time you just go away, Steven.
Anyone interested in a Hollywood career and who crossed his path career wise knew that getting into Weinstein’s good graces meant a possible lucrative career. Weinstein’s Miramax movie production symbol was a sign of success and making it big in the film world. Weinstein’s films, such as “Shakespeare in Love” “Gangs of New York” and “Good Will Hunting” were all hits. Weinstein seemed to have a knack for producing movies that attracted movie goers and that made much money. This skill helped elevate his social status in
There are many celebrities who support and promote causes and charities to create awareness about peace, humanitarian causes, poverty, and illness in the world. Does celebrity activism really have the intention to help others or do celebrities get involved in it because they want to enhance their reputation? Although some celebrity activists do not have a good reputation because of their bad behavior, they contribute to society by giving donations or by supporting good causes. Celebrity activism matters because celebrities are powerful tools who raise awareness of good causes. Celebrities have the power to attract people’s attention, for instance, their fans, to influence them to support the important causes.
Outsider would mean a social outcast, but Hinton used Outsider as a more creative word and intriguing title. The Outsiders are the greasers because the rest of society sees them as criminals, hoodlums, and horrible people with no morals. But that is in fact the opposite, Especially for the group that Hinton created. Socs and the rest of society is favored, and treated with an advantage so to speak. The police favor the Socs and the fingers always get pointed to the greasers. Most of the time it isn’t true, Especially because the Socs jump the greasers not the other way around.
Growing up Spielberg was a child filled with imagination. He liked the sensation of being scared and was always pushing himself to the limit. This was later transcribed into the films he produced. When Spielberg began to find his interest in film making he got his whole family involved. He would film his family doing things and his family would play along. “My dad had to wait for me to say ‘action’ before he could put the knife into the fish to clean it” (rolemodels.net). His family served as great supporters that helped him make it into the industry. Spielberg started his career at Universal Studios which began with him manipulating
THX 1138, American Graffiti, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back…the list goes on and on. Although many have not heard of each of these films, everyone certainly has to know the man behind them. George Lucas has, in many cases, written, produced, and directed, not to mention edit, his own films. His vision was the driving force that imagined and created these movies. All have made back the cost of the film and most have received millions of dollars in profit.
When most people hear about Bill Gates the first thing that comes to mind is the obscene amount of money he has made through out his career. Owning many different foundations, the most common foundation known to most college students is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that provide many different scholarships. However, this foundation also does various things to give back to communities and aiding suffering countries. Within this foundation there are also various branches such as the United States Program, The Global Development Program and the Global health program that have grown over time making the Gates a commonly used household name.
“A famous actor can make in the millions for just one movie. Although not all actors make this amount, many of them do.” This unknown writer is correct and has a really good point on how much actors could make just off of one movie. “ Is it fair that Tom Cruise gets millions and firefighters get stuffed, in comparison?” Marcus Geduld also has a good point because firefighters save lives every day while actors just provide us with entertainment and not much else. In reality, actors get paid way too much. It’s unfair to people who help other humans every day make less than them
