We only show the good stuff, because we want to feel valuable. We want to feel important. We want to be respected. We want to fit in and stand out, at the same time. But you’re behind the scenes are more honest and beautiful than anything on social media. We feel as though just because we make our profile private only our friends can see what we post or share. See you are not alone because most of us don’t, but we should really start. One day I was on Facebook reading statuses, checking out recently updated photos when I received a notification from who I assumed to be my best friend. The notification said you have an invite to a small private gathering on May 28,2016 @8:00 pm. What’s so weird about the entire situation is because my friend birthday is May 25. My friend never mentioned to me anything about having a private gathering. I called her and asked about the invite she had no idea what I was talking about. I’m not sure what the person intentions were but it could have ended badly or it could have been just a prank. There are plenty of stories like this a prime example would be Catfish. Catfish is a show that comes on MTV once a week where people meet people online fall in love and find out the person is not who they claim to be or portraying to be. We need to stop thinking just because our profiles are private that people can’t steal our pictures or information because that’s the farthest statement from the

Social media proves time and time again that it can be a very successful tool for helping to grow and expand a business, when used correctly. However, there are many limitations to using social media that need to be taken into consideration. One of the limitations is that companies struggle to determine how their social media platforms are generating sales and profits based on their likes and followers. The ability for a company to identify a concrete methodology to evaluate the success of their social media programs is difficult for most companies and even though who had invested time and resources into assessing this key performance indicator still understand that the methodology used is not necessarily providing them with concrete impact (Sandilands, n.d.). Due to the fact that it takes time for the likes and followers to grow and form a substantial

Social media or cancer? Just like cancer, social media slowly withers away people’s brains, especially in teenagers, when they consume almost everything they read. Social media has grown exponentially while attracting the young minds of teens and molding them without teens knowing. They latch on to things that they feel comfortable with, because they are still trying to find who they really are. Today, social media is used by almost every teenager in America. Sites like Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Snapchat, and Facebook can affect them in a negative way, making them feel worse about themselves or even changing who they really are. Social media can seem harmless to many teens, but it can actually hurt them and cause mental health issues.
As technology increases and develops in this century, the use of social media increases as well. Schools have begun adapting it, using it as their tool to inform students of any school related news.
