•Gladys Aylward made the spiritual needs of the people of China, more important than her own.


Evidence that supports Argument #3:

1.Gladys Aylward lived in a christian home all her life, but she had never actually accepted Jesus Christ into her heart until a religious church meeting where she made the decision (The Little Woman). When Gladys Aylward went to China, she had not been a christian for many years. She had just recently accepted Christ into her heart, because she did not feel really close to Christ, until she accepted Jesus into her heart and got a calling for China. Since she was a missionary without as much experience and knowledge as others, she had to fight with her own spiritual needs of getting closer to God, while helping the people of China. That is very hard to help people with spiritual struggles, if one is not one hundred percent spiritually stable themselves. …show more content…

Gladys’ spiritual strength also helped her through a lot of the things that she did, such as enforcing the new ban of foot binding while sharing Jesus’ love, stopping a riot in a prison (the prison leaders were questioning God’s strength to see if he would protect Gladys), and she led orphans out of the province of Yang Cheng out of the kindness of her heart for children and because she knew it was what God wanted her to do. Gladys’ spiritual support that she gave the people of China was tremendous, because she gave the people spiritual support on top of physical and emotional
