“Unbreakable” I come from a family that went through a lot and never had much money, but we have always been able to see and move past our troubles. Like most families, we had a lot of problems and maybe more than some.Over the course of my life the storm has always seemed to push against me. I have learned that adversity and hardship are inevitable, but I call myself lucky because my siblings and I have learned to value a treasure that not many people have the advantage of claiming, each other. I have learned that when stumbling upon struggles and misfortunes many families fall apart, believing that giving up will aid their problem. My sisters and I have become closer and rely on each other more than anyone could possibly understand. My sisters
and I are sticks of a bundle and this makes us unbreakable. Around the year I turned nine years old my dad lost his job as a Police Officer. He had been working in the force since before I was born and the sudden loss of income hit my family hard. Eventually my mother told my sisters and I why he was fired; he had developed an addiction to painkillers. This addiction began to get worse after he was fired, to the point my sisters and I were terrified of him. We could no longer look him in the eye like we always had. Eventually my grandfather and my uncle were able to get him into rehabilitation, leaving my mother to take care of us three girls for a while. We struggled with money and costs constantly, but never went without food on the table. My mother loves us all and did everything to put our needs first, even when she struggled with her own happiness. My sisters and I slowly started to become close to each other, more than a nine year old, a thirteen year old, and a sixteen year old ever would have. We became dependent on each other in order to keep stress off of my mother. We grew up more than someone our age should and began to take care of each other and help around the house more than usual. I was a nine year old who became more mature than most young adults. My father came back and after a while got a new job, and we began to get back up on our feet. My sister and I never lost our closeness and to this day we have always been there for eachother. I have a feeling that will never change. We will never break or be destroyed because sticks of a bundle are unbreakable.
It is brave to look out for others even if you have to stand up
No matter what obstacle or challenges we faced, we still managed to find solutions to our problems and kept being optimistic. Going through a rough childhood it is easy to harbor hate and bitterness but being able to look logically at a situation and motivate it to change you that is strength that Jeannette and I
“You'll get over it,” one might be told by their high school friend after a break-up. Some might believe romantic relationships that occur early in life, are frivolous and silly. These relationships, that seem to be all for naught, should be easy to let go of, but are they? And, what does it take for the young and broken-hearted cope? Matthew Larson and Gary Sweeten bring to light the repercussions of breaking up for young adults by measuring crime involvement and substance use in their article Breaking Up Is Hard To Do: Romantic Dissolution, Offending, And Substance Use During The Transition To Adulthood (Larson
Plea bargaining is a tool used in the court system for the benefit and detriment of the accused for numerous reasons. Additionally, the Crown will use plea bargaining for their benefit as well. For the purposes of this paper I intend to focus on the benefits and risks for an accused person to accept a plea bargain.
A plea bargain is a discussion between defense counsel and prosecution in which the accused agrees to plead guilty in exchange for certain considerations, such as reduced charges or a lenient sentence (Siegel, 2017, p. 670). To understand why plea bargaining is used so often, you must look at the pros and cons. In deciding if a plea bargain is the best option, then the pros must outweigh the cons and must favor the interests of the state. Some of the pros that stood out were the overall reduction of cost of the criminal prosecution and resources and prosecution being devoted to more serious cases. If the prosecution can push a plea bargain, then they can move on to a more serious case and get more money for their time and services. Plea bargains allow dangerous offenders to receive lenient sentences. Jesse Timmendequas, a previously convicted sex offender, was given a 10-year plea-bargained sentence for child rape. Upon his release, he raped and killed 7-year-old Megan Kanka in one of the nation’s most notorious crimes (Siegel, 2017, p. 392). In other cases, innocent people might plead guilty if they believe that the system is biased and that they have
The movie “Breaking Away” presents the story of a young man from working class origins who seeks to better himself by creating a persona through which he almost, but not quite, wins the girl. The rivalry between the townies and the college students sets the scene for the story of four friends who learn to accept themselves as they "break away" from childhood and from their underdog self-images.
One of the policies that needs to be discussed is arrest for domestic violence. This policy is regarding the pro- and mandatory arrest policies (Hoymand, et. al., 2009). This current policy is very important in families, even though there might be a few issues if kids are involved, it still would be best if the police were involved if the situation got to point of the danger of one’s life. Pro-arrest policies allow police officers to arrest when answering to call if there are indication of domestic violence such as broken glass, scrapes on a person, or knocked over furniture (Hoymand, et. al., 2009). Mandatory arrest policies take place when police officers make an arrest even though the officer did not witness the victim being assaulted by the perpetrator (Hoymand,

I had to learn to adjust life without my sibling because my mom did not have enough money for them to be with us and adapt to a new culture. During this my mother and I ended up homeless during the winter months, this was the most brutal and embarrassing time of our life. In my teenage life I have overcome many obstacles; Even though we were living in poverty my mother had high expectation for her children and graduating from high school was just the beginning unfortunately I stumble again, I failed my Math Regent and did not graduate but I was determined not to be discouraged .
Family and individual characteristics afford the ability to overcome hardship (Seccombe, 2016). If family provides a safe environment of open communication, acceptance and commitment to one another through good and bad times it is a strong support system (Seccombe, 2016). Equally, an individual with self confidence, intelligence, common sense, creativity and independence has the resources to be resilient (Seccombe,
One day in the sixth grade, she showed up on my doorstep with heartbreak written all over her face. She burst into tears and told me her “world was falling apart.” I realized the situation was much more dire than getting into a fight with one of her siblings. Her parents were getting a divorce. At the time, I didn 't fully understand what she was telling me or why she was so upset over this, that is until the very thing happened to my family.
In today's society, robots come in different types and qualities, and robots’ use was mainly in the laboratories and factories; however, that has drastically changed where their uses are changing at a high speed. In addition to that, they have spread throughout the world. The main function of robots is to replace the work that people used to do, or perform tasks that man cannot. A robot is a mechanical or virtual device that uses a computer program, or electronic circuitry, to carry out its functions. In modern science, robotics refers to the study of robots is robotics, which deals with designing, constructing, operating, and using robots and computer systems for controlling and processing information and providing feedbacks. However, as much as robots replace human labor, individuals or organizations can use them in dangerous environments that might be harmful and beneficial to humans. Therefore, to understand the logic behind the creation of robots, one should learn the pros and cons of robotics, in the current society. This is because people are using this technology without having a deep understanding of its effects. However, an objective evaluation of the use of robots, in the modern society, shows that they have a positive influence on human beings, but if the robots were overused, it could lead to a negative side. which shows why human beings should use robots wisely that will result an improvement to their societies and own lives. Robots have become interactive equipment whereby they have become part of human life. In this regard, people use them directly or indirectly to enhance the quality of their lives. However, Sharkey argues that there are ethical issues that arise because of using robots to enhance hu...
As a young adult lady, I grew up always being told how perfect I truly was, I grew up with the unconditional support of both my parents and a strong center in family orientation. I was blessed with these luxuries and I am forever thankful. Although I control the outcome of my life and I control my thought processes and social behaviors, my family has a big impact on how I carry myself and the aspirations I set for myself. Having a supportive family makes my life easier to endure during rough patches in my life and easier to reach my goals. I’ve endured the heartaches and the painful memories, but I am never alone in my pain. I think my family is the direct cause of my naturally elevated confidence during this vulnerable phase in my life, Although I do not want to give the perception of perfection but this mindset has helped me get through the toughest patches and come out on top, it has helped me dispatch from friends when needed and form positive inferences on how healthy relationships are suppose to look like. All families have some type of unique dysfunction, the dysfunction helps with the development of “ lessons learned”. Every family has different dynamics, some are smaller, some are big, some are closer than others. The only similarity that remains is that they all make an impact on a child 's mental, physical and
I don’t know where I’d be without my family. We’ve been through thick, and thin. I’m very glad that I have them for moral support, and can depend on them for advice. They’ve taught me almost everything I know about life, whether it’d be household chores, manners, morals, cooking, etc. I’m pleased to have a very caring family that would do anything for me. I feel safe and secure with them. They provide me with the basic necessities such as food, water, and a roof over my head. I would consider all of the things they provide me with as luxuries, because not everyone has a comfortable place to reside in, or food to eat. If I didn’t have these basic necessities, then it would be another thing I would have to stress about in life. I like to joke around with them a lot, and it brings a smile to my face when I see their reaction. Having a loving, and supportive family is what makes me
Robots are one of the artificial intelligence that made a breakthrough across all fields of life. In consequence, many research studies and projects regarding robots took place in the last decade. In addition, robots in the society could be one of the essential machines, due to their multitask system which could adjusted to any kind of performance. In general society could use these machines to fill manpower gap in short time with less cost. Therefore, robots can have huge positive effects on different fields of life such as emergency situations, daily chores, and manufacturing industry.
