A much debated issue in current times is the regulation or banning of gun. We have had the second amendment since 1689, when the bill of rights was made to give the people the right to bear arms. Guns have been around since 1364, when the first recorded use of a firearm was used and has been ever expanding with more people owning guns every day. There are many different reasons to own a gun, from using it for self-defense around the home to hunting for food, they are very useful and have saved many lives. The sad fact is that even though they can be used for lots of good things, people have also found many ways to use this great invention for the worst, and be harmful to people and property. An issue with banning them is how the government would confiscate all the guns from people that own them without any left over. The problem with this is that the government can’t. It would be virtually impossible to confiscate all of the guns in the United States . People would hide them in any way they could, just so they could keep their property because they know that they could potentially need them for self-defense because other people will be doing the same thing. Everyone knows that there would be no way to take them all.. There are an estimated 310 million guns in the U.S., that is enough guns for every man, woman, and child in the U.S. The threat of guns would still be around even though they would be banned. Retrieving guns from people would be very hard because how do people take something from people who don’t want to give something up? This actually makes a lot of sense. He is saying that if everyone has a gun and everyone knows that then who is gonna mess with a person. this kind of goes back to the point of self defense but this idea is more of a fact that if you know if someone has the ability to defend themselves a potential attacker might be deterred to attack a person because the attacker could become the attacked. This is is the reason a woman might carry a can of pepper spray with her in her purse, or how a security guard carries a night stick with them, for the looks mostly. I have witnessed this firsthand when i went to haiti one time and the area we stayed they hired a security guard to just walk around the yard armed with a shotgun to keep us safe. They said they had never had any problems with people breaking in and causing trouble, because who would mess with a guy with a shotgun. i also witnessed this at a museum we went to in haiti they had several men with shotguns and i don 't know a single person who would try to cause any trouble there. this is why i think this is an actual legitimate reason why more guns would actually help the

Is it any coincidence that the states with the loosest gun laws in America tend to contribute to the highest amount of national gun deaths and injuries? This is one of the main questions we should be asking when deciding what is best for our country and its citizens. One of the biggest reasons that handguns should not be banned is because of the Second Amendment.
