In construction industry, there is a certain achievement that every construction players seek so that the project can be considered as successful, and this achievement is called as critical success factors. Based on article written by Alias, et al. (2014), success on a project means that certain expectations for a given participant were met, whether the participants are owner, planner, engineer, contractor or operator. However, each participant’s expectation might be differ from one another and the study of project success and critical success factors (CSFs) is considered as one of the vital solution to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery (Amade, et al., 2015). This is mainly because any successful construction projects greatly depend on how the project is being managed and controlled. …show more content…
As stated in article written by Khosravi & Afshari, (2011), he cited Sadeh, et al. that project success can be divided into four dimensions; the project must meet design goal (which applies to contract that is signed by customer), the benefit of project to the end-user (which refers to the benefit to the customers from the end products), the benefit of project to the developing organization (which refers to the benefit gained by the developing organization as a result of executing the project) and the benefit of project to the technological infrastructure of the country and firms involved in the development
A synthesis essay should be organized so that others can understand the sources and evaluate your comprehension of them and their presentation of specific data, themes, etc.
Despite the world being full of diverse people with varying accomplishments and skill sets, people oftentimes assume the qualities and traits of an individual based purely on the stereotypes set forth by society. Although these stereotypes are unavoidable, an individual can be liberated, empowered and ultimately overcome these stereotypes by obtaining an advanced education.
Television has affected every aspect of life in society, radically changing the way individuals live and interact with the world. However, change is not always for the better, especially the influence of television on political campaigns towards presidency. Since the 1960s, presidential elections in the United States were greatly impacted by television, yet the impact has not been positive. Television allowed the public to have more access to information and gained reassurance to which candidate they chose to vote for. However, the media failed to recognize the importance of elections. Candidates became image based rather than issue based using a “celebrity system” to concern the public with subjects regarding debates (Hart and Trice). Due to “hyperfamiliarity” television turned numerous people away from being interested in debates between candidates (Hart and Trice). Although television had the ability to reach a greater number of people than it did before the Nixon/Kennedy debate, it shortened the attention span of the public, which made the overall process of elections unfair, due to the emphasis on image rather than issue.
Insurance is summarized as a means of protection from a financial loss which is an extremely important component in our society today. The concept of insurance can be dated as far back as 1681 and has been constantly changing ever since. There are many different types of insurance that people know about and are very common in the United States including car, life, health, renters, and home insurance. On top of those policies, there are new objects or actions that are not covered and must have new policies developed specifically for them. This research is very helpful because I intend on becoming an actuary.
Crawford (2000) suggests that project leadership is the highest ranking category among project management competence factors. Project management leadership style affects overall project performance. Recent research supports the idea that successful projects are led by individuals who possess not only a blend of technical and management knowledge, but also leadership skills that are internally compatible with the motivation of the project team (Slevin and Pinto, 1988; Turner et al., 1998). Zimmerer and Yasin (1998) found that positive leadership contributed almost 76% to the success of projects. Negative or poor leadership contributed 67% to the failure of projects. Project leaders need both, relationships and task oriented leadership styles, to cope with the challenges within different phases of project (Slevin and Pinto, 1991). In projects, project leaders must lead their teams towards completing defined goals with in a fixed time scale. Verma (1997) states “Achieving the goal or final aim is the ultimate test of leadership”. Goals and tasks are achieved through people thus making people an important resource for
Standing on the edge of a platform ninety feet up in the air, I’m scared. But once I push off, I’m soaring on a zip line, flying through the air, exhilarated. Taking that step off of the platform was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but once I took the step off the platform, I wouldn’t take it back for the world. It’s just like college; I’m set on going, but our society today weighs the risks and the rewards- whether or not college is worth attending. On the other hand, while there are legitimate drawbacks to obtaining a college degree, the fact remains that a college education sees most people to go further in life than those without.
Figure 3 illustrates the RBS for FSU Refurbishment Project. RBS stipulates the systematic identification of project risks classified based on risk category as defined by the author (Miller, 2009). Identified risks in the project are hierarchically categorized and the structure is arranged by source in order to facilitate any potential risk exposure in the project. This structure enhances accomplishing of planning and understanding of the risks. According to Trumper (2007), RBS is an important tool used by the project managers to access the associated risks in the process of implementing the project.
The involvement of parents in the school is a necessary one for their children to have a higher rate of success in school. How educated the parent is, what are their social class and involvement are important factors that do help develop a student’s behavior at school. Issues like social class give students an upper hand that will increase their likelihood of achieving at school. For example, in one article dealing with income and social class states,” children with educated more educated mother were still expected to score higher on the reading and math sections in Kindergarten” (Source 5, 1028). This is interesting because not every student starts at the same level, sometimes there are students whose background leads them to have higher probability
Everything about the LGBT community is one of the most controversial topics in the US. From legalizing gay marriage on June 26, 2015 and now putting same sex couples in TV shows. However, not every country has the same exact rights. In Laos, it is completely different, like neighboring city Vietnam, it is one of the world’s few remaining communist states. It has been strictly ruled by its communist government since 1975.
Recently the world is facing a new crisis: the creativity extinction. Ever since the population boom and breakneck competition, people began to set up the new criteria for the survival from the world. Until the 20th century, people primarily focused on improving economic efficiency and maximizing machine productivity under rigidity; however, as soon as the goals were achieved through technology development, people turned their eyes to rediscover the creativity buried deep inside their minds. People always follow the trends, which are generally derived from unprecedented ideas. It is a natural inclination for people to pursue the rigidity under creativeness, and vice versa.
My papers typically consisted of a couple of sources jammed into random crevices of thought. I usually didn’t care what kind of source the quote came from, as long as the quote supported my thesis. Now, I’m well practiced in using scholarly sources and checking into the author’s background. The annotated bibliography helped me to focus on the reliability of the sources in conjunction with the background of the authors. I thought it was really awesome to be able to contribute research of my own rather than just regurgitating other people’s research.
During the 21st century, we have been looking for ways to develop clean and renewable energy. As each year passes, we continue to pollute the Earth using non-renewable resources which causes destructive pollution to the atmosphere, destroying species to meet our energy supplies, and we end up creating inhabitable land for many years to come. Namely, our use in oil, coal, gases, and fracking is slowly killing us, and we would soon extinguish all resources on Earth. The method of renewable energy will help us as humans in our endeavor to survive as a society whose citizens uses clean energy. One of the ways we can achieve this is by using solar power, which is the answer to the energy needs of the future.

When planning a new project, how the project will be managed is one of the most important factors. The importance of a managers will determine the success of the project. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed. Project management is referred to as the discipline that entails the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization resources so as to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals and meet the specific criteria of success required in the organization (Larson, 2014). Over the course of this paper I will be discussing and analyzing the importance of project management.
Using Synthesis “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer Whether we are taking a stroll in the park or climbing the highest peak in the world, we often go about life, seeing things from a box view. This implies that we do not like getting outside of our comfort zone, unless it is necessary to do so. Humans have a stance on every little phenomenon without always being aware.
