We are the Puppy Clocks and we represent Brashier Middle College Charter High School from Simpsonville, South Carolina. We have noticed that recently people have been lacking a sense of connection and belonging to nature. To bring awareness this issue, we are creating a visual album, similar to a documentary. Through different mediums of art, we hope to convey the negative aspects of this situation, and inspire viewers to question their own relationship with nature.
Most of our early conversation centered around how environmental issues are caused by humans, due to their selfishness. People are forgetting about the symbiotic relationship that we are supposed to have with nature, and they end up only taking instead of

People who do not believe climate change may not see our claim to be true because they do not notice human’s negative impact on the earth. Parents of children dealing with severe allergies and asthma are becoming more and more protective and they are keeping them indoors. Aside from this, there are people who view the indoors to be better, and in turn, this means that they do not see the value of the outdoors. In response, we argue that since we were only given one earth, we have to protect it, treat it with care, and cherish the resources it brings us.
To make this project happen, we needed a very limited amount of materials. Aside from the obvious necessity of manpower and time, we needed the ever present outdoors, a video camera, video editing software, musical instruments, and music recording software.
We are trying to instill a sense of consciousness into our audience. People have become so concerned with convenience that there are no conscious decisions being made about our impact on the earth. We hope to inspire people who watch our visual album to take a more cognizant approach to their daily life, so that we can reduce these careless choices being made that harm the earth. As people begin to stray away from this careless behavior they will start to reap the rewards of living life connected to
I always loved to go out into the forest and wander around hoping to find something magical hiding in its depths. I always saw nature as something to be respected and taken care of. However nowadays we live in a world where nobody cares about mother earth and nature, therefore causing global warming and greenhouse gases. Due to the ever increasing gas emissions in our atmosphere, it is causing many people across the globe to suffer. For example, when I went to Somalia in 2009, I had not experience any kind of rain for a year. It was one of the worst drought Somalia have ever seen, and unfortunately I was a victim of it. I would remember myself herding the goats for my grandmother, in search of grass so that the goats could eat and gain weight. However that was not possible due to the drought, and in the end my grandmother was left with no goats. People lack to understand that this world is ours, and if we don’t take care of it then our kids won’t have a world to live in. Most people are ungrateful and fail to recognize our duty as a human beings living on planet earth. There are high increases in tornado’s, and other natural disasters due to global warming. For example just last week a rare tornado hit Sydney, causing cricket ball-sized hail, and winds up to 200 km. It is reported that Australia is experiencing an El Nino weather pattern, therefore causing extreme droughts, storms, and floods. John Muir hinted
Persuading viewers to think about their actions as to how they can improve this dilemma. Burtynsky 's projects have completely flipped my perspective of how humans consume the resources around them, slowly collapsing from our own demise. It made me want to change my lifestyle choices to help better and slow environmental change.
This paragraph made me realize how rare it is to know what someone has gone through by their apperance. The quote from Eleven also reminded me that the earth is polluted everyday; a simple activity such as drinking bottled water can affect the environment though you can’t see your effect while drinking. I wanted to create an art piece where you could observe mother earth as well
I took a deep breath in and was amazed by the freshness of the air. Gargantuan evergreen trees towered over me and a creek silently trickled beside me. I remember looking up in the cloudless sky and thinking how lucky I was. I finished a rigorous hike in Acadia National Park and was absolutely astounded by the beauty of this earth. A small breeze carried the crisp scent of nature up to my nose. Taking a deep breath in, I truly appreciated the simple beauty of this planet. Earth is not something you can recreate. With global warming on the rise, humans must do everything they can to preserve this planet.
How would you like to live in a home that is beginning to fall apart, but only to go on about your day and continue to neglect it until it all comes crashing down? Humans and animals share this beautiful planet that we call home. But this beautiful home of ours is being regularly and increasingly torn apart by our own ignorant actions. These actions of ours have begun to unravel the very world in which we live, causing a self-inflicted crisis known as Global Climate Change. Global Climate Change is a severe dilemma, and it is continuously becoming more evident to the world’s population that climate change is being caused by changes in the reflectivity of earth’s atmosphere and surface, the ever changing variations of energy from the sun reaching the earth, and the daunting increase in greenhouse gasses.
One of the most urgent environmental and social issue is climate change, its being talked about all over the world since its affecting billions of lives. The earth goes through a period of cool and warm period, which are called climate change. Climate change is when the earth gets warmer or cooler due to the amount of sunlight it receives from the sun. Climate changes isn't just affecting humans, its affecting the whole ecosystem. Coral reefs are turning white and polar ice caps are turning black. Animals are becoming extinct because their environment is being threatened. People all over the country and world are becoming aware that the climate is changing, especially after this year. It snowed in cities that usually do not get snow, it snowed in spring, and also flooding in some cities. The country is starting to realize the role human activities play on climate changes, and because humans are responsible for the rapid climate changes they must take actions to protect the environment. There has been periods of Global Warming in history that were mainly naturally caused but the most recent one which is happening now is influenced mostly by humans. Scientists have been debating on whether or not Global Warming is caused by humans. Both sides, however agree that as sunlight enters the earth's surface only a little bit is reflected back into space, most of it is absorbed into the earth which keep the earth warm, and the rest is absorbed into the atmosphere. As college students, we must work together to come up with a plan to help reduce greenhouse emission. Since in the book of Genesis 1 and 2 it says that God placed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden as caretakers. Their job was to care for the everything in the garden, they weren't...
For these reasons, global warming stands as one of the most daunting policy issues facing our world today. This is compounded by the debate over the very existence of climate change. While countless sources of empirical evidence testify to the very real presence of climate change the world over, considerable denial of the phenomenon still exists. The argument has been made that evidence about climate change is a gross overstatement, or in some cases, a complete fabrication. Despite the evidence to the contrary, many interest groups with considerable political clout have successfully perpetuated the argument that documented changes in the environment are a product of natural cyclical changes in climate, and are not associated with human activities. However, even the acceptance of this particular brand of reality is no grounds for the disregard of environmental consciousness. Even if one accepts the premise that recent climate change is not resultant of human activity, the rationale behind environmental conservation remains ...
The first part of this essay discusses what the human species has done to deal with the problem of climate change. While some improvements have been made, the problem has not been addressed aggressively enough to stop the damage. What is amazing about this is the denial of so many people that problems exist. If they do realize the risks, they are simply not taking actions to contain the damage.
People should all take the environment more seriously and protect the future for those to come. It’s our responsibility to ensure that the children to come may enjoy all of earth’s beauty, and not through old issues of [National Geographic’s].
Environmental art is also referred to as land art and earth art, and is a big part of the art movement in the 1970’s. This style of art is exactly as its name suggests: art made of the environment and nature. During the 1970’s, many artists didn’t want their works to be commercialized, or even in museums. Some environmental artists even create their artwork in ways it will disappear or change naturally over time. Environmental art is important during this time for those trying to escape from reality, because subconsciously, it forces them to face it, and gives them another perspective of the reality that is being portrayed in the photographs.
Climate change has been an extremely controversial topic in recent history and continues to create much debate today. Many questions concerning climate change’s origins and its potential affect on the globe are not fully understood and remain unanswered. What is climate change? Is climate change happening? Is it a natural cycle of the world or are there other catalysts involved such as human activity? What proof is there? What data correlations show climate change is accelerated by humans? How serious is climate change and how will it affect the future of our globe? What are we doing to address climate change? Should we really be concerned about climate change? Questions such as these have made climate change a very serious issue in today’s world and created the ideology of climatism. The issue of climate change has affected many different aspects of our lives and the world we live in. Policymaking, human activism, technologies, emission control, global warming, alternative energy sources and many other things have been greatly affected by the mania of climate change. This research report will present climate change in a light of common sense and rationality that will take a grounded discussion of the science behind climate change, global warming, human activity, and how the ideology of climatism has corrupted and driven the actions to combat climate change.
Many people assume that the environment is not in danger. They believe that as technology advances, we do not need to worry about renewing natural resources, recycling, and finding new ways to produce energy. They state that one person in the world does not make a large difference. In reality, each individual's contribution greatly affects our environment. Our natural resources are slowly disappearing, and we must work together to save them and the Earth from ruin.
The earth is a complex system, which continues to evolve and change. Climate change and global warming are currently popular in the political agenda. But what does “climate” really mean? The difference between weather and climate can be conveyed in a single sentence: “Climate is what you expect; weather is what you get.” Based on research of the geologic record, we know that climate change has happened throughout Earth's history and at present, ever-increasing evidence points to the roles that humans play in altering Earth systems. The Earth and its atmosphere receive heat energy from the sun; the atmospheric heat budget of the Earth depends on the balance between incoming solar radiation and outgoing radiation from the planet; which has been constant over the last few thousand years. However present evidence seems to suggest that the recent increase in temperature has been brought about by pollution of the atmosphere, in particular the release of huge amounts of carbon dioxide, mostly through Anthropogenic Forcing (human activity) and other various internal and external factors. Global warming is one of the most serious issues that the human species face today, yet the majority of the population does not pay attention to it. People are not aware of the dangers and do not care about it much because the main effects will affect the next generation and not themselves. Global warming is happening and it is the reason for changing weather and weather extremes such as earthquakes, floods and wildfires. Global warming is caused by societies lifestyle and these lifestyles destroy the environment and affect the whole world. The use of cars, trains, planes, as well as wasting energy for people’s entertainment has a price; this price is that society is in danger.
One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”). Everyone should be knowledgeable about global warming and the dangers that it brings to our planet. This essay will examine
