What is Project Oversight? According to George Baram (2003), Project management oversight (PMO) is an established practice where a review by an independent (non-project personnel) is prepared to examine the risk status of the project (time, cost, and profit) at selected points in time, and possibly explore potential hidden problems that should be addressed and proactively reported to the top management. The overall purpose of project oversight is to ensure timelines are met, costs are not exceeded and revenue is generated. This practice is not only a onetime event, but should be utilized throughout the entire project life.

The importance of project oversight assists top management in mitigating risks and allows them to be proactive and take the necessary corrective action when problems arise. By proactively monitoring the project managers the company can reduce the amount of delays ensuring the project stays on track. This is important to the organization due to the fact its serves in the best interest of the stakeholders of the entire project.
Impact to Project Manager
Oversight is interested in supporting and helping the project manager where ever needed. Oversight determines the environment in which the project manager will implement his/her project can have a positive or negative effect. Methods used to hold the project manager responsible and accountable will influence how performance is measured. The project manager will report into the oversight group at predetermined phases of the project. Importance of project oversight to the future of project
In order for any type of organization to function efficiently and effectively, individual departments and teams must be successful. Therefore, a project manager must be able to build a cohesive and functional team, then properly manage the team to reach specified goals. Likewise, the organization must be structured so as to provide the project manager with the correct span of control for the team to be effective. In relation to baseball, if the head coach was only in control of seven players, but not the pitcher and catcher, it would be difficult to effectively get a team to follow specific guidance and reach goals set by the head coach. Likewise, for Six Sigma to effectively operate, the project manager must be provided the ability to build his or her team and the appropriate span of control.

The Inga 3 Project is a Dam building venture in the Congo. The idea was to build hydropower plants to extend energy across the globe. The original idea was to provide free or inexpensive energy and jobs to underdeveloped areas. This would be the third dam in the region. Inga 1 was completed in 1972 and Inga 2 was completed in 1982 and were a part of the Inga-Shaba project.
Project managers, as mentioned earlier, are becoming a highly sought after commodity. There are many fields which project management professionals may enter into, such as constructions, engineering, logistics, and information technology. For those project managers who are interested in expanding their careers with new skills, this is phenomenal news. In order to validate project management on the corporate level, researchers view that ownership is required from the top (Chandler & Thomas, 2015). Corporate executives need to understand the importance of PM and embrace its functionality within the organization. This will ensure that project management continues to stay linked with areas like personnel, finance, and production. The nature of project management is crucial to business success, and enables proper development and implementation of solid practices. This further highlights that hiring project professional’s remains essential as businesses become “supported from top to bottom and from edge to edge” (Project Management is Vital for Business Success,
Fast for four days, dance for 10 hours, and a bag to provide protection for life. Three different journeys, that show true adulthood in the native american culture. Vision quest is a journey for young males, to find their purpose in life, while an Apache girl dances through the night as her journey towards womanhood. Not to mention the medicine bag was given to Martin from his Grandfather to protect him for life. All of the stories are different and similar in many ways. Not to mention there are many advantages and disadvantages of video and written text.
The project management plan will help the organization to manage all the foreseeable risks in a timely, proactive, effective, and appropriate manner. The aim of the project management process is to maximize the chances of the project achieving its objectives, while minimizing the risks and keeping them at an acceptable level. The scope and objective of the risk management plan are as follows:

Project Monitoring is not among the four steps but is a vital task that every project manager needs to embark on. Being up to date with project progress enables a project manager to know if the human and non-human resources work well as scheduled. If there are gaps of under-utilization or over-utilization is some areas, the manager can easily shift employees to ensure that none of them are strained while another is relaxed. Constant and real-time monitoring of a team-led project makes it possible for a manager to shift assets to spread workload hence increasing
With the development of economy, project management office (PMO) plays a more and more significant role in organizations. To many organizations, project management office provides such an important process to help the organizations increase the success. In order to support and coordinate management of projects with better outcomes, a lot of organizations establish PMO to achieve their business objectives. However, what is project management office? The most general definition about “PMO” is the department which can harmonize, normalize, optimize, and manage the process of projects. (Letavec, 2005). There are some specific definitions regarding PMO as the method which can promote efficiency, reduce cost, enhance the
When I first heard about Project WILD, I thought it would be an excellent professional event to attend. Project WILD is a program taught by Indiana’s DNR, and educates teachers and other members of the community about how to teach lessons based around the environment, nature, and animals. The event was hosted in the education building at IUPUI and was put on by the education fraternity at IUPUI. Throughout the day, we learned how to teach lessons about wildlife and the environment to our students. We even got the opportunity to test our teaching skills out and co teach a lesson to the rest of the group.
This paper will reflect on the different uses of Project Risk Management and ways in which it can benefit organizations to have the ability to identify potential problems prior to the problem occurring. Risk, this is not something to be taken lightly whilst dealing with matters that include high end projects meeting specific details, deadlines and expectations for the end client. Project risk management teaches one to be aggressive early on in the phases of planning and implementing the tools for a project. This is usually easier as costs are less and the turnaround time to solve the issues at that present moment is beneficial rather than later. The result in a successful project for one’s self and other key people involved in the process is also another requirement. Stakeholder satisfaction is important because the
Deductive reasoning is general information people have and use to reach to some type of conclusion. Deductive is done by understanding the first part which is using logic to reach a conclusion which reasoning is to understand what is going on. Project management involves all activities that encompass scheduling, planning, and controlling projects.
