I am writing to you today to express my interest in working as a Program Assistant I (Term-Limited) for the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. I came across this job posting from the Colorado Government Job website and my background, education, experience, and skills align well with all of your required qualifications. Growing up as an immigrant with parents who do not speak English, I was raised to believe that health care is not affordable and that I must not go to the doctor unless it was life-threatening. That point of view change when my English language skills improved. I started helping my parents applied for Medicaid while learning about the public health services that are available for them. From that point on, my passion for providing people access to health care grew because I wanted to decrease the barriers that prevent people from seeking health care. I learn about the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment in one of my graduate classes and is intrigued by the work that the department does. The department vision, mission, and goal align well with me and what I wanted to perform as a career and a public health professional. Goal number 4 “Promote health equity and environmental justice” is my passion, I want to …show more content…
My education aligns with the position because my classes in public health taught me the trends, ways of researching, and emerging issues in public health. My work as a computer lab assistant gave me experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Photoshop while providing services to the student and staff communities and holding myself to a quality service I provide. My Anthropology degree prepared me with the ability to collaborate and work with multidisciplinary professionals, the ability to value and include everyone’s point of views, and problem-solving ability with a strong work
Research My first research experience took place from the Fall 2012 – Summer 2013 in a neurobiology laboratory (Dr. Daniel Plas) focused on Parkinson’s Disease. In this project an undergrad student and I were tasked with optimizing a cellular medium for neural growth of the model organism Lymnaea stagnalis. This was comprised of following established protocols and altering certain variables within the formulas (differing concentrations of ions, pH, et al.) to observe growth pattern differences in vitro.
Admittance into the University of Georgia’s Honors Program would push me to continually test my potential in the pursuit of my Pre-Medical studies. I take pride in challenging myself to completely master a field of study that enhance my capabilities, and therefore, prepare myself to strive for my next goal in life. In order to grow into a better and improved self, one would need to test unfamiliar waters and reach new heights. The Honors Program ensures this growth by bringing in unaccustomed, rigorous, and beneficial material one cannot simply find in a traditional setting with their head in a textbook. Students are more able to grasp information through exploration and peer discussion which the Honors Program would provide. I believe that
Gaining access to health care can be rather difficult for immigrants. There always seem to be some sort of obstacle in the way. For example, the cost of health care is skyrocketing. Immigrants whether they are legal aliens or illegal aliens are impacted the most by high health care costs. Each year the numbers for health care change but they never seem to get lower. Immigrants lack health care insurance due to the high cost of health care.
After being lost, puzzled, and indecisive for a while now about which health-related career I desire the most, I finally made up my mind and selected a major. I decided to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science after accomplishing an Associate’s Degree in Science, which is an open field filled with opportunities for several health professions. I realized that a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science is the way to go as it enables me to switch back and forth between all of the health occupations that I worship. Down the road, I can even further my education and specialize in a specific domain that I am willing to commit to. In general, Health Science is a major where professionals undergo several tasks such as improving their community’s health and overall wellbeing, get involved in nutrition related conditions, use epidemiological techniques, counteract various infections, and enrich physical and daily health routines.

I want to be a part of the SIMR program because this program is an opportunity for me to develop myself further as a student in the field of science. I am determined to attend the SIMR program because I have a love and curiosity for science. I am a willing student ready for a new type of challenge. This program will help me to learn more in depth about the topics I am already interested in, as well as give me the opportunity to use technologies that would be unavailable otherwise. Currently, I am deeply interested in the field of genetics.
An intelligent software assistant, also called an intelligent software agent, cognitive assistant or cognitive agent, is a software agent that is also an intelligent agent which performs a task with minimum specific directions from users. I have the fortunate position of being able to say that my career, for the most part, has allowed me to invest my time in the places that both interest me and have had a beneficial impact on underserved and low-income communities. Through my work I have been able to respond to societal needs in healthcare and, my passion, community development. At the same time I realize that to have the greatest impact in the community development field requires me to further my formal education, deepen my policy expertise, develop my leadership skills, enhance my management ability and learn from the leaders in the field.
I am currently employed as a Software Engineering Senior Analyst at Accenture. The Information system advances so rapidly that at times it is too difficult to keep up with it without proper knowledge and experience. While most of the people do get a relatively easy entry in the field after under graduation, it is very difficult to aim for a constant growth only on that basis. The field demands upgraded knowledge and experience for career growth and (achieve goals). And that is why I aspire, to pursue Masters in Management Information Systems at your esteemed University.
As someone who has many aspirations in life, I understand having both long and short-term goals is important. One of my long-term professional objectives includes being a community service manager at a health center. With this I am hoping to work with many other healthcare professionals to coordinate health programs and initiatives to improve the health of communities. Having a background in health promotion alongside the leadership and management skills and the real world experience that I intended to gain from this program will give me all I need to make this

I have chosen Public Health as my career path because I have a passion for making a difference in people’s lives and helping others achieve their goals. Also, I chose healthcare as a career because health does not only focus on the physical aspects of wellness, but it applies to all areas of wellness, such as, intellectual, social, spiritual, financial, occupational, environmental and emotional wellness. Moreover, Public Health is a challenging, diverse and dynamic field. My philosophy of health is very simple, to prevent, improve and educate the lives of individuals, families, communities and the population. Besides, there is no safer way to touch people’s lives than through public
I have an unquenchable desire to learn and develop the mind. I believe, one of the greatest way to better care for families, communities and the population was to pursue the Master of Public Health Program with a concentration in Community Health Education. Public Health is the most important aspect of medicine. My studies in Public Health will go a very long way to help me grasp the proper concepts and tools needed to work with the government to bring sustainable solutions to health care problems faced by various communities today. Public Health issues touch almost every family in the USA today. I know that if the health sector was better funded, better equipped, and better managed, with clear and effective policies, this kind of suffering could been avoided. I want to go into public health because I believe strongly that I can contribute not only to my fellow Americans, but also to people all over the world. I anticipate that through proper planning, interventions and implementation of effective policies, one will be able to bring about much-needed change through my work with an NGO or non-profit affiliated with the UN.
