The professionalism that needs to remain in the correction facility is always remember to remain calm any situation that might occur between the inmate and staff. Professionalism is part of the correctional officer's job to make sure that they’re fit for the position and making sure that the officers do not set themselves up for failure you have to make sure that you’re perfect for the position. Correctional officers are taught the importance of boundaries with the inmates due to protection and authority. The correction officer have authority and power over the inmate when the correctional officer choose not to own up to their power or authority that’s when boundaries get crossed and problems start occur among the inmates.
