If you don’t want to great at football, you have to be prepared. All of the great athletes who I’ve watched or played with were always prepared. After observing all those years, I have found the perfect to prepare for a football game. First, preparing yourself for that weeks match up. I do this because if you’re in the middle of your season and just had a bad loss forget it. You can’t bring that game back so focus on the next game. You want to visualize yourself winning that football game, making that winning play and making sure you’re cool and relaxed. You also want to pep talk yourself to gain that confidence later on durning the week. Second, talk to the coach about strategies for the game and what to expect during the game. You do this so you can get a better idea of what to do/ look for while you watch film. What works for one team might not work for another team. You want to spend a few hours observing the opponents. This well help you know exactly what there doing most of the time in certain formations. Watching film can help you out a lot to what to expect for the game. …show more content…
Don’t practice just to stay in shape. You want to practice hard enough where when it comes to game day its easy. When your preparing for the week in practice make sure you and your teammates are on the same page. Football has been a big part of my life ever since I was a little kid. I almost always tried to play football when I could with my brothers if they weren’t busy messing around. During recess in grade school my class would try to start a football game and I would be the first in to be picked on a team. My first time being on a “football team” was in little league my third grade year and I’ve never missed a year yet now that I am a senior in highschool and I’m hoping to continue it in college. Football made the person who I am today, it changed me in many ways and affected how I am as a person.
High school football is very risky! There are so many ups and downs about this sport in particular. In my 8 or so years of playing football I’ve often heard coaches liken the job of the linemen to that of a soldier fighting in a trench, pushing, attacking, and struggling for every inch of the battlefield that is the line of scrimmage. Once again, after a successful season, Shadle Park was defeated by a Big 9 school in the first game of the regional tournament. This reoccurring event has led many to believe that the four year football program puts GSL students at a disadvantage compared to other districts. All of this is the time when everyone is getting prepared for the upcoming game. We all get dressed up into our warm ups and get active before the game. Every single time I do the same set of stretches and movements before the game. Doing this also leads me to believe that it will improve my game. After warm ups I walk into the locker room to get out of my workout clothes, but only to get into my equipment.
