The federal government should restrict abortions because abortions strips an American child of its rights to life, puts women’s lives in jeopardy, and allows Americans to have a way to desert the consequences of their actions. The most fertile ages for a woman are twenty to twenty four years of age. With that being said it more common for a younger woman to become pregnant. Having children or planning to have or not to have a family is one of the biggest decisions of a woman’s life. There is no such thing as perfect time to start a family. There are both disadvantages and advantages to giving birth at different stages. For instance, a woman in her 20’s would have more energy to run after and take care of a toddler but less of a financial budget. A woman of her 30’s or 40’s may be more established financially but does not have the energy to keep up with a toddler. Everyone does not think about these aspects when getting pregnant. It’s a heavy responsibility that comes with children. Americans have to ask themselves are they ready for this type of responsibility? Before someone claims to be pro life they would need to know the meaning of pro life. To be pro life is to say that the person believes that the government has obligations to preserve all human life, regardless of intent, viability, or quality of life (Heard). The pro life advocate believes that help should be given to a young woman to make it as simple as possible to give her child up for adoption, if she desires. Dealing with young women that do not wish to keep their children can be an opportunity for both individuals and society to develop true understanding and charity. An abortion can cost anywhere from around $350 to more than $1,000. In 2009, it was estimated that a total of $831 million is spent on abortions annually (abortion). If American was took reducing abortions serious the most important decision would not be which abortion to ban but how they would support to have the babies that they so badly do not want aborted. As a general rule, societies that do the least for mothers and child bearing have more abortions. Works Cited Stoner, Carrol. All God’s Children. Ont. Canada: Thomas Nelson and Sons, Ltd., 1977.Ahs. As to any argument, there are two opposing sides when it comes to the matter of abortions. These two opposers usually refer to themselves as “pro-life” and “pro choice”. Pro-life supporters maintain that abortion is wrong and pro-choice believe that it is a woman’s freedom to choose her pregnancy decisions. When it comes to the topic of abortions, most of us will readily agree that it’s a woman’s choice to decide what her reproductive decisions are, i.e. pro-choice. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is in the question of whether or not abortion is a fundamental right granted to women by the Constitution. Whereas some are convinced that a fetus is considered alive at conception, usually citing the word of God, others maintain that

Pro choice vs pro life has divided people for numerous reasons. Abortion is expected to date back to the 1800s, it is now seen as taboo and inhumane to some. Fact of the matter, whether abortion is wrong or not it is the fight for giving a woman a natural right to her own body. For decades, legislators that are full of man have created laws and regulations on abortion. Abortion ideally ought to be pro choice for women everywhere for the victims' own protection, expanding young girls life opportunities, and individual freedom.
In America abortion is one of the most heavily debated topics in recent years. Pro-life or pro-choice? Many people believe it is immoral and even consider abortion to be murder. The definition of abortion states “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth” Did you know that 1 in 3 women in the U.S. will have an abortion in their lifetime? (Baker, Aspen. "A Better Way to Talk about Abortion." Aspen Baker:. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Aug. 2016.) When first researching this topic I wondered, “What’s the big deal? Why would it matter if someone who was never even born, died?” And I realized that babies that would have been born due to abortion,
Pro-choice versus pro-life argues over the issue of what should be the right stance when dealing with the life of an unborn child. From the perspective of a person who is pro-choice, they believe that “individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive systems, just as long as they don’t violate the independence of others.” Pro-choice also argues that the government should not have the right to decide whether a woman should exterminate her pregnancy or not. From their viewpoint, they believe that what should be legal in the eyes of the government is contraception use, celibacy, abstinence, and abortion for the first two trimesters of pregnancy. On the stance of pro-life, they argue that the government has a right to protect this regardless of any situation.

Late-term abortion should be made illegal because it is morally wrong on many different standards of the American society. There are many reasons why late-term abortion can be considered immoral. Around the twentieth week of gestation, the baby is practically already formed (Jacobson), and it is usually considered a person by then. This would make it seem that you’re killing a baby, which is not morally right to the standards of the American society because it is an innocent person. Most believe that the fetus is considered a person at either conception or the first trimester, and this would mean that you’re violating their rights to live by getting a late-term abortion.
Anger and heated debate have long fueled the controversy over abortion. Whether pro-life or pro-choice, both sides of the argument are convinced of the righteousness of their beliefs. There is, however, some confusion surrounding the term “pro-choice” – it does not directly pertain to the spread and use of abortion, but rather, “pro-choicers” advocate the continued legalization of abortion in order to make the choice available and to ensure that women’s fundamental rights are not subjugated. The stance that abortion should be available has its roots in economic concerns, psychological evidence, moral dilemmas, and the Constitution.
Until the mid 1800s, abortion was unrestricted and unregulated in the United States. The justifications for criminalizing it varied from state to state. One big reason was population control, which addressed fears that the population would be dominated by the children of newly ...
An issue that has flared up in today’s society, abortion is a highly debated topic that has sparked some of the most violent discussions. The rapid growth in teenage pregnancy has only increased the amount of attention that has been drawn to abortion and whether it is ethical or not. While some say that a woman is in power of her own body and can make choices based on her best interest, some take much offense to that and demand that a baby is a baby no matter how small it is and that abortion is never okay. It is important to know going into this debate that to argue one side, one would have to be 100% consistent with that decision because of all of the grey areas that come up regarding abortion. With that being said, I still believe that a mother should take responsibility of the situation and recognize that, even though it is minuscule, a baby is a person the moment it begins to develop inside of her.
An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Abortion is and has always been an important matter. Abortion is a growing issue in America because; it affects many people; the women who will have the child, and the men who conceive the unborn fetus. When it comes to the Pro-life v. Pro-choice discussion the controversy approaches when the idea of life is defined. Most religious people are pro-life because they think that life is create the moment that the child is conceived they also believe that the fetus should be protected. While others believe that each women should have the right to decide what happens to her body. Those who believe in pro-life don’t understand that there are reasons why women choice to abort and that abortion can’t be beneficial. If abortions were made illegal it would take the right to choose what happened to her body which would question our rights. If the government was able to force a woman to continue a pregnancy could they force a woman to use contraception or undergo sterilization to prevent pregnancy? These questions seem ridiculous, but if our government can force us to continue pregnancy what else can they do. The fact of the matter is that women deserve to have a choice.

Pro-Choice advocates believe that abortion should be legalized because they feel it is necessary to empower women with choice. They have strong opinions that women are not subordinate, so they ought to be allowed to make moral decisions and should not be forced to have a child, but why should the child have to suffer for the wrongdoings of his mother? Since only women can get pregnant, male legislators have no right to vote on anything abortion-related because it doesn’t affect him personally. If an innocent woman is raped and later becomes pregnant, should she be forced to have the baby? Well, according to pro-choice believers, she should have the right to decide for herself if she wants an abortion. An innocent unborn baby definitely should not be punished for the crime and poor decisions of his father. The mother must stick out the tough nine months that it takes to be pregnant in order to save the life of the faultless developing child inside of her. Adoption is always an option, and a much better alternative to murder. Yes, a woman does have a choice, but there is always one morally right way to go when con...
