Abortion is the untimely and early ending of pregnancy. Thirespondedss can be carried out by the will of an individual or can occur on its own because of any abnormality or disease. Abortion ending due to any abnormal condition is referred as ‘spontaneous abortion or miscarriage.' Abortion, as a term, is specifically used for the ending process of pregnancy by the will of the mother. This process can be carried out in a variety of ways depending upon the gestation period, the condition of the fetus inside and preference of involved mother.
As the age of fetus or gestation period prolongs, there are lesser chances of safe abortion (for mother) and increased chances of various complications. The soon a female realizes she might be pregnant or there are chances of pregnancy, she should immediately go to her doctor or take a home pregnancy test. For complete verification, a visit to a good gynecologist is more preferred as the results of home pregnancy tests are not completely

reliable. The option of abortion arises when the parents or specifically the woman is not ready to have a baby ("Abortion-Reasons"). There can be multiple of reasons of abortion. Majorly, it can be because the baby is a total out-of-wedlock relationship or it can be when both parents were using contraceptive methods but they failed, and they are not yet ready to have a baby. In the case of single mother to be, there is usually sudden panicking because pregnancy is the most unpopular thing in an out-of-wedlock relationship or during dating. In most cases, the guys take no responsibility and girls do not have any choice but to abort their babies. In other situations, parents mostly are not socially and economically stable and cannot afford to start a family. They think of abortion as a way to prevent all kinds of future problems. As a whole, major reasons for abortion include unwanted pregnancy, inability to support the child, pregnancy as a result of rape and development of a child with multiple gestation abnormalities that can lead to morbidity and mortality of both mother and baby if the pregnancy process. Safe abortion is done in the first trimester (first 12 weeks) of pregnancy after that abortion process can lead to multiple complications. In the US, most abortions are carried out in the first nine weeks of pregnancy. Two terms are imperative to understand in the case of abortion which includes pro-life and pro-choice abortion. Pro-life refers to the opposition of the abortion process. It relates to the point that it is inhuman to end a human life without giving it a chance to come into the world. Pro-choice refers to the legal right of women to opt the option of abortion for them. There are plenty of people with their piles of arguments on both sides. Pro-life arguments include the facts that as it is inhuman and heights of cruelty to carry out euthanasia; the same thing goes for abortion. It is not just about the external conditions but also and more importantly about the life inside which gets killed by painful and savage ways. It is a scientific fact that to save the female from pain and complication; the baby is killed inside or taken out by several extremely painful methods which cause severe pain to the baby. Adoption is an existing and best option against abortion. If a woman cannot raise the baby, there are thousands of families willing to adopt the babies. According to a concept of pro-life, abortion must not be considered and used as a way or option of birth control. If anyone is not willing to take the responsibility of a child, first they must use reliable methods of contraception and second if they cannot, must practice the way of abstinence. Adoption is only acceptable in one case, and that is when the pregnancy is subjected to various anomalies and abnormalities that pose serious life threat to both child and the mother. (Alcorn 3-12) Pro-choice arguments claim that abortion is neither murder nor a cruel or inhuman process.
Almost all operations of abortions are carried out in the first 12 weeks (first trimester) of pregnancy, and during this time the development of fetus has not yet been started. So technically, logically and scientifically abortion cannot be referred as a murder. Second, adoption is not the ultimately viable option for abortion. It is because very less amount of women chose of give up their babies once they are born. Third, abortion is necessary to opt as an option in case of being resulted from rape or incident of incest. The victim is not supposed to carry the burden of the savageness and inhumanity done to her. Fourth, abortion is not used as a method or way of contraception. Abortion, in almost all cases, is opted because it is certainly unexpected and unwanted. Although there are very fewer chances of complication, no women can go through the process of abortion just for the sake of
contraception. Planned Parenthood is a non-profit US based organization which provides basic and advanced health care facilities all over the US and other countries of the world as well. This organization has multiple and increased numbers of health care providing centers in the US and all over the globe. It not only provides health care reproductive facilities but also fights for the reproductive rights of women and has multiple centers for abortion. Planned Parenthood (PP) is tax-free organization and is an active member of IPPF. Planned Parenthood (PP) has been reported as earning an enormous amount of money on the back from support of taxpayers. It is making millions of dollars as revenue per years. Planned Parenthood is reported to carry out one out of three abortions being done in the United States. It has been officially reported to conduct 327,653 abortions last year (Attia). According to gathered evidence, PP must be briefly directed on its actions or government should have a modified strategy of action for this globally working organization. It will not be beneficial either to shut down or stop the whole team but certain amendments in the money, as well as other methods, must be done on urgent basis.
As to any argument, there are two opposing sides when it comes to the matter of abortions. These two opposers usually refer to themselves as “pro-life” and “pro choice”. Pro-life supporters maintain that abortion is wrong and pro-choice believe that it is a woman’s freedom to choose her pregnancy decisions. When it comes to the topic of abortions, most of us will readily agree that it’s a woman’s choice to decide what her reproductive decisions are, i.e. pro-choice. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is in the question of whether or not abortion is a fundamental right granted to women by the Constitution. Whereas some are convinced that a fetus is considered alive at conception, usually citing the word of God, others maintain that
Abortion is a very controversial and sensitive topic in today’s society. Two different sides to this argument is pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life proponents believe in the right to life for unborn fetuses saying that abortion should be considered murder regardless of how far along in the pregnancy the woman is. Pro-choice advocates people who believe the woman carrying the fetus should be able to make her own decision on aborting the fetus.
As many may know abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Abortion is one of the heaviest topics currently discussed in contemporary American politics. Also, it has always been a contentious issue. Even great philosophers like Plato and Aristotle weighed in on abortion, arguing its benefits and drawbacks in a democratic society. There are both pros and cons about abortion. In this quote it states,
Thou shalt not kill; one-tenth of what may arguably be the most famous guidelines of morality in the western culture, and also the main driving force for pro-life advocates. The argument supporting their beliefs typically starts with the premises that a fetus is a person, and to destroy or to kill a person is unethical. Therefore abortion, the premeditated destruction of a human being, is murder, and consequently unethical. I deny the fact that the fetus, what I will refer to as an embryo up to 22 weeks old, has the right to live. The opposing argument is invalid because a fetus, although perhaps a part of human species, is not formally a person. This leaves it simply to be a part of the woman?s body, whose fate lies solely in the hands of the pregnant woman alone, no different from a tumor she might have. By proving this, the abortion debate then becomes an issue of women?s rights, something that is most controversial indeed. Furthermore, it is fair to question the credibility of many people against abortion because of obvious contradictions in the logic of their belief systems. The fact that this debate is relevant in modern society is ludicrous since there is a simple and plausible solution to this problem that could potentially end the debate for good, leaving both sides satisfied.
Abortion: the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus (Psychology in Action 10th ed.)
Abortion is a hot topic and a significant topic for many people Countless amount of people feel aborting or killing an unwanted child should be against the law. Many do not know what abortion is, why people choose to get abortions, the different between pro-life and pro-choice, and the laws in place of abortion. The decision to have an abortion is a personal choice and responsibility of the woman.
Abortion is the process of terminating a pregnancy by removing the embryo or fetus before birth. Since abortion became legal in the United States in 1973 after the Roe v. Wade trials, there has been many disputes and debates on whether or not the practice of abortion is ethical or not. While many people believe that a woman should have the right to her own body and be able to terminate her pregnancy if she desires to do so, others argue that it is murder. There are many arguments for and against abortion. My points in this paper for the PROs of abortions are #1, Abortions Procedures and #2, women’s rights. I will talk about how abortion being legal offers a safe abortion procedure, and how and why it is a woman 's right to choose what is best
As defined by the Merriam- Webster dictionary, abortion is “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation- miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by domestic animal often due to the infection at any time before completion of pregnancy” (“Abortion”).
Less than 1% of all abortions are performed to save the life of the mother, and there have been millions of abortions in the United States alone since they became legal. Abortions are when the fetus is removed from the uterus before it has reached the stage of viability. There are a lot of ways that an abortion procedure can be done. During your first trimester which is up to twelve weeks of your pregnancy they usually do the endometrial aspiration, suction, or curettage to remove the baby from the uterus. In the endometrial aspiration procedure a thin flexible tube is inserted into the woman’s cervical canal (the neck of the womb) and then sucks out the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) with an electric pump. There is another procedure called dilatation and evacuation (also called suction curettage, or vacuum curettage), the cervical canal is enlarged by metal dilators while the patient is under anesthesia, after that a rigid suction tube is inserted into the uterus remove the fetus. Both the evacuation and curettage can be used up to about the 16th week of pregnancy (Britannica, 2013). But after those 16 weeks have passed the woman will have to be injected with the saline solution if there is enough fluid in the amniotic sac surrounding the baby. Saline solution is used to trigger uterine contractions. If that doesn’t work than other methods may be used to induce contractions, but these substances may cause severe side effects. After the toxic mixture is injected, the baby swallows the salt solution and is poisoned and his skin burned. After suffering for 1 to 1 and a half hours, the baby’s heartbeat stops. The effect of the salt solution burns the lungs and strips away the outer layer of the baby’s skin (Life, 2012). This ...
Ellen Willis’s “Putting Women Back into the Abortion Debate” (2005) is an argument that supports women’s rights and feminism in terms of allowing all abortions to occur. She discusses abortion with the perspective that women’s rights are the issue, not human life. This argument is not accurate. Abortion is almost completely about the rights of every human being. People who are for abortion need to know a fertilized egg is just as important as someone already living, that an unborn child cannot control its need for someone to rely on for survival, and that they must accept the gender they were given without thinking it eliminates rights. Excluding rape and incest, abortion should not be allowed. Abortion is an issue of human life being endangered, not of whether women are allowed to live their lives with some rights that may be denied through childbearing.
Today, Canada is one of only a few countries without a federal law restricting abortion. It has been legal throughout Canada since 1988. The definition of an abortion is “the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy”. The spontaneous version of this is called a miscarriage, where the fetus is expelled without doctoral assistance. There are many reasons a women may want to terminate a pregnancy, such as the inability to care for or financially support a child, To prevent the birth of a child with birth defects or severe medical problems, or pregnancy resulting from rape or incest.
Abortion, termination of pregnancy before the foetus is capable of independent life. When the expulsion from the uterus occurs after the foetus becomes viable (capable of independent life), usually at the end of six months of pregnancy, it is technically a premature birth. In the United Kingdom, when the foetus is not born alive after 24 weeks of pregnancy it is termed a still birth.
Abortion (a·bor·tion) - the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Whether it’s because the baby is the result of rape or they can’t financially support the baby, many women all around the world go through with an abortion, sometimes as a last resort. There are many abortion methods that include medical, surgical, and the injection of poison. Although the thought of abortion may seem like a terrible and gruesome thing to some people, it does have some benefits. It benefits the future of young adults who aren’t ready to have a child, and have their whole lives ahead of them. Also, it benefits the health of women whose bodies can’t handle carrying or giving birth to a baby.
Is abortion murder? Murder is defined as "illegal killing with malice aforethought." Abortion fails this definition for two reasons. First, abortion is not illegal, and second, there is no evidence to suggest that expecting mothers feel malice towards their own flesh and blood.
Abortion is the killing and removing the fetus/ embryo before there is any possibilities of it surviving outside of the mother’s uterus. Abortion is the end of a pregnancy that is normally chosen by the mother, but is also known as a miscarriage. Abortions are mostly known as a surgical procedure, this is done multiple ways but all killing the fetus/ embryo. There is a variety of viewpoints on abortion such as through the religious tradition, also from seeing it as a crime to beneficial, this is an on-going debate about abortion.
